Event Ten.

Little Willie, mean as hell,
Pushed his sister in a well.
Mother said, while drawing water,
"My, it's hard to raise a daughter."

t's pretty dark and miserable down in the well. The cavernous area feels much larger than a well should be, bodies milling about in the darkness and knee deep, frigid water. So you're here -- and you're not alone, and the only way out appears to be the thin circle of sunlight from above, the opening of the well.

(And elsewhere, in the Town, everyone's waking up to gifts of various usefulness, but hopefully they remember to check the well today even so!)

What now?

Welcome to Awash's tenth event log, and the intro log for this month, everyone! All new characters have found themselves waking in the well in the middle of the Town. Hopefully they can get a hand out! For more information, please go here!

[Akira had indeed been coming over to pet, but he stops when there are suddenly claws aimed at him. Huh, a talking cat.

He really isn't surprised by this at all.]

[There! A polite introduction! He even dips his head.

Though, he's still pretty sure this cat would like to be petted. Morgana always does...]

Well, not everyone is familiar with every type of magic! I'm not, even. Or do you not have much to do with mages...?

[ WEIRD if so. maybe she fell into a world where that shit is rare??? ]

[ nothing happens when she takes the towel! except for some towely drying action, obviously. levy smiles back at the head bob. ]

I'm Levy McGarden, from Fairy Tail - I don't suppose you know where we are...?

[So Minato definitely noticed the new laptops hanging around--which was pretty excited. New roommates? New roommates. He didn't have a ton of time to think about it, though, since he had to put out a sudden and out of nowhere fire in the front doorway (sorry about the singe marks on the ground there), and then head on over to the well.

It's probably a lot of shenanigans and missing each other somehow in this small town, but he's been trying to poke his head back in to see if they made it there so he could help out, and sure enough...

Eventually, he gets lucky!

[... He lifts a hand out of his pocket to wave.]

[Guren's been strolling along the edge of the forest to see if he can catch any newbies who are a little too courageous. It seems he wasn't wrong to check, but at least this guy is stopping to ask, first.

Those wings, though. They definitely have his attention. He's got a contract with a demon, sure, but it reminds him more of the seraphs from home— and that's... strange.]

It's dangerous, and you shouldn't go in alone. It's practically a living being, and everything in there is either some kind of mutated animal or mythological creature. I've been in and out with a handful of different people.

.... if your items are wet from the well, you can hit up a girl named Maribelle.

She posts frequently on the network or I can introduce you to her - she has fire magic, and she'll get you dry in no time at all.

[ giorno speaks to her gently, since he'd noticed how agitated she is. ] Other than that, are you injured? Do you need anything else?

It's in Armenia. North-ish. It's a big city and I was stationed at a camp near there.

[ Jion automatically answers that first because it's the only trace of normalcy he can grasp in the situation. With that out of the way, he's left to try and figure out what what Dave's saying. ]

-- wait. Wait. [ Jion raises his hands in the gesture for 'slow down,' his face scrunching up in confusion. ] Okay, so this place is called Chroma? But ... dimension? What do you mean?

[ Ah. Here's Momo, ostensibly a somewhat sheltered city boy who dabbles in safe outdoors activities, being introduced to the idea of actually having to fend against wild animals. Unironically.

He stops bouncing his makeshift ball on his toes, and traps it under the heel of his sneakers. ]

—If there are... you can use me as a human shield while you run away.

[ Well, she certainly wasn't expecting that -- the talking, not the cattitude. That's sort of universal with felines. Selina pulls back, arms crossing over her chest. ]

You'll have to forgive me, around here and back home, cats don't usually talk. But no, thanks, I'm good without the singing.

[Naturally, Kaoru is always interested in helping out with quests (look, there's nothing else to do here).

When she gets to the meeting spot, she presses a hand to her mouth with a gasp.]

[ roommate #1 (or #2) is a rather short girl with blue hair. minato is no longer alone in the blue hair club in his house, isn't he blessed. she's pretty normal looking otherwise, in fairly casual modern-ish clothes, although a mark is on the back of her shoulder, visible with a halter top which she tends to wear because of that i assume. ]

Hello! [ she's a bit more energetic than minato... ] Sorry, do you live here? This laptop seems to work for me, so I figured...

Only of making sure no one gets hurt for reasons we can all avoid.

[That's a straight up no, but he has to be like this. He places a hand on his hip.]

You'll probably have to go in there at some point, for the quests, but you want to be prepared to fight if you have to, and you don't want to go alone.

I've gone in there plenty of times, so that's what I meant by asking me.

[Different worlds? Been there, done that. Ashy fish, though? That's what finally earns Dave a Look.]

Fish with no color? No taste?

[HMPH. He abruptly stands on all four paws, not even bothering with that cute lil' stretch cats usually do. Gross fish! Charter help him...]

Lead me to the harbor, boy, and I shall see for myself. If this is true...

[And here is some nice, quiet grumbling, although Dave can probably pick up a few things here and there. "Two millenia of servitude," of course, and the good ol' "this is how I am repaid?" He is one seriously grumpy cat.]

[ Is that a sword. He doesn't recognize where the uniform is from, but it's obviously a uniform. What kind of unit just carries around swords like that? Maybe this guy's part of some sort of ceremonial guard? Jion stares unsubtly for a moment before realizing there's more important matters at hand. ]

Um, well. [ He automatically stands up straighter, like he does around his superiors. ] I ... don't even know where to start, to be honest, but. I guess this is a regular occurrence, then? People ending up here?

[There was no way Kaoru would step back when someone was falling, especially when it was a cute girl. So she reaches out to catch her, not stumbling at all when she does it.

She wraps her arms around Kisa with a bright smile.]

Oh, my! It must be my lucky day, since a cute girl has just fallen into my arms~.

[He's going to end up...!! Meeting with a scrawny-ass teenager who's holding out a towel to him. Blankly, because he has no idea who he was talking to, but.

Talking to mysterious air is better than some of the people who have come out of that well, so he's not going to judge.]

Um... here. This might help.

[Someone suddenly demanding to know "what the fuck" from him is becoming pretty normal for Connor, so he isn't phased by it. Not that he's really phased by much of anything, being an android and all.

And anyway, it's a question he feels he can answer, so:]

It's a well. We seem to be stuck inside.

[She asked.]

[Roommate #2 definitely looks like a vampire, with his red, black and gold color scheme, the way he seems to have elf ears, and the cape around his shoulders. He got in... apparently without an invitation.

Despite that, he seems busy, tearing open a crate to find... sardines. Canned sardines are better than no sardines but they don't have the blood Val really needs. Sure they have all their nutrients, but this just won't do.]

Is this your house as well, lad? I found these sardines here.

[It doesn't really matter whose they were before, because now they're his.]

Honestly it's not really any kinda war - but the more quests and shit we do, the more color seems to come back, so. Also, everyone is assigned a district when they get here, which is associated with a color - Yellows are Flavo, blues are Bluo, and reds are Ruga. I'm a red, for the record, and that doesn't have to mean jack shit to you yet but it will when you want to do quests, if you wanna.

[ he jerks his head towards ruga and starts walking. ]

C'mon, I'll spot you a towel and an outfit. I also have cherry pie if you want a slice?

[ it's a lovely morning and giorno has decided he'll sleep in today, because he did a lot of hard work the past couple of days. he deserved a good sleep, he's been good.

so giorno remains in bed for a while until he hears the sound of a door opening, and he frowns. who the fuck enters someone's house without their permission, is he being robbed? him being the only criminal here? really?? that's stupid.

but he remains in bed because he doubts there's anything downstairs anyway, and maybe it's just an errant invisible sheep from the forest making its way to his house. who knows. he's not worried.

so he gets out after a half an hour or so with the kind of bravado only men who don't have roommates, at all, possess. giorno heads off to the kitchen for a nice start, unruly hair and boxers and all. ]

[Two new roommates! That's...exciting.

Also.

What the fuck, sardines...???]

Um...

[Give him a moment. He processes all of that as best he can, and then:]

Yes, I live here. I think you guys do too now, if your laptops and things are here. Welcome.

Of ... of medicine? I'm a medic. That's my rank. It's --

[ Then again, is this really the best time to be explaining what his rank is? He really wants to ask what a Prinny Instructor is, too, but that should probably also wait until they're out of the well, huh.

Jion shakes his head and looks up. ]

-- never mind. I mean, I guess you're right in that it could be worse company down here, but we should probably try to get out, first. [ Pause. A furtive glance over. ] Right?

I mean this place kinda picks people up from different worlds and timelines and shit.

[ SORRY, JION, he does not know how to slow down that information ]

Excuse me?

[Play it straight...? As in, acting? Connor isn't sure he'd really be any good at acting, as it usually involves some amount of pretending and lying, things he isn't generally all that good at.

More importantly:]

You think we're being filmed for our reactions?

[If that's what's going on, why would they include an android. Unless he's supposed to be making sure no one is injured? Likely, except that's not really his job.]

Oh, hey--

[... Well, this poor guy looks a little damp, which is why Minato just tilts his head a little, tucking his hands into his pockets (he's already given away the last towel he was carrying around, they don't really grow on trees).]

... I'm happy to answer what I can, but do you want a towel? We'll have to walk a bit, but I have a few more I think.
