Event Ten.

Pushed his sister in a well. Mother said, while drawing water, "My, it's hard to raise a daughter." | |
Welcome to Awash's tenth event log, and the intro log for this month, everyone! All new characters have found themselves waking in the well in the middle of the Town. Hopefully they can get a hand out! For more information, please go here! |
2.
Talking to mysterious air is better than some of the people who have come out of that well, so he's not going to judge.]
Um... here. This might help.
no subject
[Wait a second. There's definitely something off here in a very familiar way, and he sort of... squints at Minato for a moment, glancing between him and the towel.]
-you can touch things?
[Surprised, but not in a bad way-- more curious, and maybe a little impressed. He'll also take that towel, thanks.]
Sorry, just, you know, I'm used to you guys not being able to.
no subject
[???
Minato has no idea what that means, sorry, you'll have to be more clear.]
"You guys"?
no subject
[There's a moment of hesitation, there-- does this guy actually know? He wouldn't be the first to be unaware-- but only a moment, because unfortunately the thought that well, he really should find out if so wins out over being a little more tactful.]
Dead people, I mean. Usually you're intangible, but you really don't seem to be?
[1/2]
...Oh.
[Yeah, Minato.
Oh.]
[2/2]
Still, it's kind of inconvenient, isn't it...?]
... I'm not a ghost. But... you're right about the rest. I died back home, where I came from.
no subject
[He at least has the decency to be apologetic about it, especially after that initial reaction...]
You don't have to talk about it if you don't want to, and I won't bring it up if not, but-- well. If you do.
no subject
[Either way... Minato shakes his head, rubbing the back of his neck a little ruefully in response.]
It's okay. It just took me off-guard...
[He wavers between asking him not to tell anyone and feeling like that's a not entirely fair burden to put on his shoulders, and finally just sighs.]
I was aware of it, and I'm not bothered by it. Honest.
no subject
[Unfortunately speaking from experience, there. He's made an effort, but it's the kind of topic that never goes over well.
With that out of the way, he starts trying to dry off his hair-- he's a bit muffled as the towel falls over his face.]
I won't bring it up to anyone else unless you want me to, either. It's your business, y'know?
no subject
[That does sound stressful, somehow. Says the dead kid. It’s fine. either way, he's...definitely not ready to share with everyone.]
Are you…some sort of spirit medium, then? Or something like that?
no subject
[He hasn't had this many people ping his sixth sense in--
well. Ever, actually. It's weird, but still exciting.]
no subject
You seem... a little excited about that.
no subject
[-is that weird? He pauses, frowning slightly, teeth catching on his lower lip as he worries idly at it for a moment.]
I mean, not to be, you know. Too extra about it or anything. Just- normal people don't usually believe the whole medium thing? Not that people who aren't normal always do, but... better chances and all.
no subject
[Not...that he was happy to see a lot of dead people around. Okay. That makes a lot more sense, phew.]
Yeah, you're right. You don't have to worry about being seen as odd here--almost everyone here has some sort of strange powers or backstory.
[Them's the breaks of a jamjar.]
I think it's on purpose, for some reason...
no subject
[He hums thoughtfully under his breath, there. It's still a strange concept, but at least he's used enough to weird things.]
I can't say I'm thrilled about it, exactly, but it might be a decent change of pace anyway.
no subject
I don't know of many people who are super thrilled about the situation.
It can be a little... [Hm] ...shady here, too, sometimes.
[It's fine?]
But we're making the best of the situation we're in now.
no subject
[...or interested in, because others' idea of 'shady' is sometimes his idea of 'fascinating'. It's a real problem.]
Shady how? Like, we all might die, or?
no subject
Minato rocks back and forth on his heels once, idly, thinking.]
... Think of the worst fairy tale you've ever read.
[...]
It's kind of like that here, sometimes.
no subject
[A thoughtful hum, there, before he quickly adds-]
Not that all fae are like that! One of the ones I talked to was pretty decent, once you got used to... well, they have particular ways they operate, you just have to get used to them in general.
no subject
Well... the "pretty bad" stories are what you can kind of expect from this place, some of the time.
Though I guess some of them might be pretty decent too...? It's best not to count on that here.
