Pushed his sister in a well. Mother said, while drawing water, "My, it's hard to raise a daughter." | |
Welcome to Awash's tenth event log, and the intro log for this month, everyone! All new characters have found themselves waking in the well in the middle of the Town. Hopefully they can get a hand out! For more information, please go here! |

[The first thing that strikes her isn't the water or the darkness or the spot of light overhead itself; it's that everything is vivid, from the feeling of the water against her legs to the inky blackness and the piercing brightness above. It's so vivid, and it's so different from the last thing she remembers.
There's a great deal of information to take in at once, and she blinks several times as she feels her heart start to pound. Glancing at the people who are gathered around her while she tries to contend with her racing thoughts, she turns to one of her peers. There's urgency in her voice as she speaks, but she tries not to let it betray any fear.]
Hey. Hey, what the fuck is this?
[It hasn't occurred to her just yet that they might be just as confused as she is, given the frustration in her voice.]
ii. in the town
[Once she makes it out of the well, she still looks shaken - and wet, of course. The boots and leggings she's wearing are soaked, and even if her shirt managed to avoid the same fate, she looks incredibly unhappy about this development. As she walks through the area, glancing around at everything that lacks color around her, she crosses her arms.]
First I have to reenact The Ring, now I'm in some bizarre monochrome nightmare...
[It's loud enough to be audible, even if it wasn't directed at anyone in particular. Her next words, though, are aimed at anybody who happens to be nearby. As much as she's trying to appear calm, there's definitely a rushed quality to her voice.]
Hey. You wouldn't happen to know where I could get a change of clothes, would you? [...] Also, if you happen to know what the hell is going on, that'd be great, too.
iii. the house (closed to momose sunohara)
[After she's received some kind of explanation... It's good to know what's happening, but it's definitely more frustrating in some ways as well. That's why, when she finds where she's meant to be staying and thinks she has a moment to herself to react, she slams the door behind her, dragging her hands down her face with a groan.
...And then, she promptly realizes she's not alone at all, and moves her hands behind her back as if to hide that she was doing this in the first place.]
Um. Hey there. I didn't really realize anyone else would be here yet...
iv. wildcard
[If there's anything else you'd like to play out, feel free to toss in a different starter or hit me up at
ii
[ they're skinny jeans and he's tall. :| ]
Also, welcome to Chroma. You've been interdimensionally kidnapped because, I dunno, color wars or something. I'm Dave.
[ he is in fact in a pair of his black skinny jeans and his record tee, so he looks normalish. ]
no subject
[She makes a face while he describes the clothing choices she'll have, but it's the last sentence that really gives her pause. After a few moments:]
...I'm like 95% sure I misheard you. Color wars?
no subject
[ he jerks his head towards ruga and starts walking. ]
C'mon, I'll spot you a towel and an outfit. I also have cherry pie if you want a slice?
no subject
[She shakes her head as she says that, her eyes narrowing slightly, even as he starts to walk. Though there's hesitation, she follows after him, but she keeps speaking as she does.]
What do you mean, interdimensionally kidnapped?

iii.
He feels a little awkward being caught like this, sitting with his chin resting on the back of this decrepit wooden half-chair, but. Oh well. ]
—Hey! Don't worry about it, my bad for making a mess already...!
[ Here he goes, getting up to pick up his clothes. ] It's been A Day [ emphasis on those words ], huh?
no subject
[The shirt, she means. Does she realize it's still wet? A mystery.]
I feel like that's a serious understatement, but sure. It's been a day, let's go with that. So you just showed up here today, too?
no subject
His hands go up in mock-surrender, but his smile stays. ]
Yup! I'm a newbie through and through... so let's figure things out together! [ As if it's that easy, as if things are ever that easy. ] You can be Sherlock Holmes, and I'll be your Watson.
no subject
That's a really weird comparison, and I'm good. Thanks, though.
[She says that just as easily, even if it's a decidedly ruder thing to say than what he offered. Her next words are just as blunt.]
Who are you?

And anyway, it's a question he feels he can answer, so:]
It's a well. We seem to be stuck inside.
[She asked.]
no subject
No shit, Sherlock. We're in a well or whatever, but - why? How? Who put us here? You know, all the stuff that would be really helpful to know right about now.
no subject
[He looks her over, though he doesn't seem suspicious.]
I'm guessing you don't remember anything?
no subject
[As though mimicking his action, she looks him over as well, then glances up at the spot of sunlight above them.]
You, too?

I have nothing on me but my cloak, which you are more than welcome to use, as well as my assistance, however I can render it.
no subject
[She says, without giving him anything else to call her as an alternative.]
You're way taller than me, so even if I took your cloak it would drag on the ground and get all dirty, wouldn't it?
no subject
A cloak for your comfort is a small price to pay, is it not? [ He even manages to smile a little as he starts to pull it off of him. ] It is the least I can provide.

You usually have to scavenge for new clothes around here, but I'm sure someone has spares you can borrow... but I'm afraid I don't. My apologies, ma'am.
no subject
Okay, that sucks and all, but also, why are you - blue?
[oh my god natalie you can't just ask people why they're blue]
no subject
he pauses for a few moments, before finally—]
I'm not quite sure how to answer that question.

also? he can appreciate a good reference! and that was a good reference. ]
I mean, if you don't mind looking like an extra from A Knight's Tale, some of the empty houses have an outfit or two you can grab. No one'll mind if you take 'em.
no subject
I absolutely mind that, but I also mind freezing to death, so. It's a real toss up.
[That's punctuated by a fairly stressed sigh, as she thinks for a moment. Either she doesn't come to a decision or she gets distracted by another thought, because the topic shifts when she speaks again.]
...You didn't come out of the well, though. How long have you been here?
no subject
Yeah, trust me, I did my time down that well already. [ 0/10, would not recommend! ] I think it's been a couple months by now? I haven't been keeping an exact count, but there's people who've been here longer than that.

This is where all of the new arrivals show up, I think. We did it a few months ago, and the group before us did it a few months before that, too. [...so if he's not a new arrival, why the hell is he in a well? That's a great question.]
no subject
Okay, arrived where? How many months have you been here?
[Also, yeah.]
Wait, then why are you in here?
