t's pretty dark and miserable down in the well. The cavernous area feels much larger than a well should be, bodies milling about in the darkness and knee deep, frigid water. So you're here -- and you're not alone, and the only way out appears to be the thin circle of sunlight from above, the opening of the well. (And elsewhere, in the Town, everyone's waking up to gifts of various usefulness, but hopefully they remember to check the well today even so!) What now? Welcome to Awash's tenth event log, and the intro log for this month, everyone! All new characters have found themselves waking in the well in the middle of the Town. I got absolutely no idea where Vanadzor is, but I'd have to go with "no" anyway. Chroma's kind of its own dimension as near as I can tell? But yeah, I've been here a while. The well occasionally just does this? Like, spits up newbies from wherever the hell.

[ he says it like it's some sort of inane quirk, like a laundry machine having to be hit in a specific spot to work. ]

It's in Armenia. North-ish. It's a big city and I was stationed at a camp near there.

[ Jion automatically answers that first because it's the only trace of normalcy he can grasp in the situation. With that out of the way, he's left to try and figure out what what Dave's saying. ]

-- wait. Wait. [ Jion raises his hands in the gesture for 'slow down,' his face scrunching up in confusion. ] Okay, so this place is called Chroma? But ... dimension? What do you mean?

[parodeity]

I mean this place kinda picks people up from different worlds and timelines and shit.

[ SORRY, JION, he does not know how to slow down that information ]

[organfarm]

[ That earns a long, hard stare. Timelines? Like from movies? Jion hesitates, brow scrunched up.

And then he brightens up, which probably isn't a good sign. ]

-- oh, this is a joke, right!

Nah, my jokes are actually hilarious?

[ that is Questionable actually but ]

[ Jion deflates visibly, going back to looking very troubled. And for a moment, he looks back at Dave, like he's expecting the punchline reveal in three, two ... one ...

... nope, still not a joke, evidently.

So he groans, pressing a hand to his temple. ]

Okay. So. This place ... picks people up from different timelines? But, why? This just looks like a town, or something. I thought that kind of stuff only happened in ... in spaceships. Important places.

[parodeity]

We have absolutely no idea. [ THEY'RE DOING GREAT, REALLY, ] But yeah, it's just a town. There's a magical forest, though, which is kind of a pain in the ass. I guess that might be important?

[organfarm]

Magical forest?

[ Man, it's really one thing after another, huh. As if a portal-well isn't hard enough to wrap his head around. ]

As in -- talking animals? Or what, do people appear outta there too?

[parodeity]

Mutated animals, usually, and like, mythological ones. There's unicorns? And like, harpies and shit. Somehow we have yet to have dragons, which I personally think is sort of bullshit??

[ when will dave get dragons ]

[organfarm]

[ Unfortunately, Jion's a little distracted trying to digest the fact that he's now stuck in a place with unicorns and harpies to sympathize with Dave's dragon-less plight. After a moment of staring blankly glances back towards the forest. ]

Okay. So -- alright. Mythological animals. Gotcha. ... are they peaceful, or are they mostly out to get us?

Mostly out to get us? The unicorns were pretty nice, though.
