[ If you are a teenager or younger, regardless of whether or not this young woman has met you, she's looking incredibly upset the minute she gets a good look at you. This is a prelude to her hurrying over, gaze anxious, as she looks you over and-- ]

This is... definitely going to be a weird question, but are you actually hurt?

[ SHE MIGHT LOOK LIKE SHE'S ABOUT TO CRY. ]

[ Alternatively, she can be spotted making a much slower way around the town. Slower because she's apparently decided to use her necktie as a blindfold, and even Maya isn't about to go sprinting about an area where she can't see.

It won't stop her from bumping into someone, or-- ]

[ A tree. Or the well. Or literally anything else, but she doesn't seem keen to take that blindfold off? Wonder why???? ]

Quest 12; Bruce

[ She's bound and determined to do a quest right this time. And to do as many of them as she can, for that matter, because no better way to educate yourself than to experience it firsthand.

But first, she needs a yellow, and ironically, someone who first comes to mind happens to be someone she hardly knows.

But he'd told her when they'd met, and that's why Maya is definitely calling out to Bruce Wayne as soon as she sees him. ]

Hey! Do you have a minute??

[ Here's Bruce! Just kind of here. He does a lot of standing in one place and just kind of staring at things. Don't pay it a lot of attention, man.

He will look up, a little curious at Maya's approach before he nods. ]

Sure. Can I help you with something?

Quest 11; Minato (6/11)

[ Of course Maya's worried. Minato had-- well, she's not really sure how terrible Minato had actually looked, given how every inch of him was usually covered in scars, bruises, burn marks, skid marks, and blood whenever she looked at him... but he'd been exhausted enough for her to suspect he didn't actually look all that great. Fake injuries aside.

So as soon as she risks a look at a nearby teenager, realizes that no, they don't look like they're about to keel over and die, she sets out on a journey to hunt down Minato.

Which may or may not be helped along by her calling out every so often-- ]

[He's gotten a good night's sleep now, but sleep debt isn't that easily fixed; he's still yawning, leaning against the wall of his home sleepily before he decides on where to start today--

Quest 11; Caramia (6/5)

[ It's a message, actually, sent to someone she thinks will probably at least humor her. They'd talked about relying on each other, anyway, and Maya's not entirely ready to talk about painful memories with a total stranger. Or to seek out any of the kids and talk about it, really.

... Besides, she thinks, she can tell Ulala when she goes home that she talked about painful memories with a mafia don! New experience! ]

Do you have a minute to meet up? I was thinking about trying out one of those quests.

[ Messaging Caramia wasn't... exactly the most reliable way of getting into contact with Caramia. After all, computers were still pretty foreign to him, but he had been getting a lot better at it! Look, Maya, be proud of him, he's even checking his inbox a mere 20 minutes after you sent it! That... counts for something, right? ]

Of course.

[ ...Is all she gets in response. Not a "Where should we meet?" or a "Right now?" or anything. In fact, this idiot was already heading out the door to track Maya the moment he hit the reply button. ]

Quest 14; Elizabeth (6/12)

[ "Be positive". There's been a lot to happen that's made Maya a little less positive-feeling, but she can't give up on herself yet. Things are fine, she's recovered, hopefully everyone else has too, so that just leaves tackling these quests.

But what exactly does this mean, anyway? Is she supposed to spread positivity?

Well. For starters, it means Maya is looking out over the water of Bluo, before she rests her hands on her hips and nods decisively. ]

Okay! Positivity!! I'm going to be so positive, something's probably going to explode!!

[ Oh, dear. ]

[ After the very emotionally draining week she'd had, forcing positivity into her life and others seemed like a good way to push all of the unpleasant thoughts that came with the week away. Seeing the tower everywhere she went was such an odd mix of emotions. It was home, but now that she saw it as what it really was, to call it bittersweet wasn't even correct. It was only bitter. She appreciates having run into Maya by chance, and a small, joking idea became something more serious.

Or, well. "Serious."

She looks to Maya, and with a little smile, she copies her posture. ]

Let's not let just one week bother us. We can do this.

[ Though she has to add with a little laugh: ]

...But maybe not explode. I don't think that's very positive.

[ It's kind of hard not to notice that something's... off. Or at least it had seemed off, when she'd read Caramia's forum post, but it's really nothing she can confirm without talking to one of the two involved parties.

And Caramia's obviously got his hands full and when she thinks about the implications... it's got to be Kyrie she tracks down, she decides. If he steps foot in Ruga, she'll be ready to pounce, but if not, she'll be seeking him out herself, knocking on that cottage where she'd first met him, or calling out his name if she even so much as catches a glimpse of him. ]

'Off' is one way to put it.

'Off' is what's been clawing at Kyrie's chest for days now--it's what's settled uncomfortably at the forefront of his mind, and it's what brings him to walk so carelessly to the edge of Ruga, thoughts occupied by whys and hows and what can be dones until a voice calling out to him pulls him from them all at once.

"Miss Maya..." They've really got to stop meeting like this. Quick, think of something to say-- "...Were you heading home for the day?"

Quest 11; Joshua (6/13)

[ She's lost in thought. Which isn't all that strange for Maya, who likes to let her mind go a mile a minute, but talking about... certain things has made her a little more sadly nostalgic than usual. It's not a feeling she's all that fond of, and as she gives her head a quick shake, she lengthens her stride, lifts her arms above her in a stretch, and-- ]

Whoa! Joshua?!

[ Honestly, she just turned her head. Had he been there a second ago?? ]

[ Blink. He hadn't been trying to be stealthy or anything (although, admittedly, sometimes it's more a reflex than any conscious effort on his part). ]

I thought I was making some noise. Sorry about that!

[ Haru hears the odd question, and sees the look on the woman's face--

Her grandfather, smiling down at her as he paints a picture. It's merely a hobby for him, as he's only just retired from running his eatery and wants to keep his hands nimble, his creative juices flowing. He only ever paints the same rock... but who is she to judge? Wanting to mimic him, Haru works feverishly at a piece of paper with her crayons. Purple only.

He hums a sweet tune and, for a moment, everything is fine...

As the memory ends, her grandfather's hum lingering in her ears in the seconds after, Haru almost forgets Maya's question. ]

Um. [ Her voice struggles to regain its strength. ] I'm fine. In fact, I'm more concerned about you right now.

[ Haru... looks horrible. Busted lip, bruises littering her skin, blood staining her clothes. But Maya is at least a little more savvy about what's going on. Either the entire teen population of Chroma experienced bizarre and tragic accidents, or this... is meant to be her punishment.

... And if that's the case, it really is an effective one. ]

It's-- well, apparently I'm seeing injuries that aren't really there. But I don't want to not ask, in the off-chance that I'm wrong.

[ it's delivered steadily enough, but Maya still doesn't look all that positive about it. ]

[In her house, Maribelle hears a loud BONK (Maya hitting the house) against the side of her house. ??? Confused, she heads to the window, but she only opens it partway and makes absolutely sure the curtains hide her.]

[ people seem to be having a bad time this week, himself included. Being a gentleman of the highest order, it's his natural duty to make sure the lovely ladies in his life are doing all right.

Also, he doesn't want to leave the house, because he looks ridiculous. And he can only work on his map for so long before he gets bored. And he already took a nap earlier, and he's not tired. So random messages it is. ]

Are you faring well this week? This may seem out of the blue, but I cannot help noticing how so many of us are falling prey to all manner of terrible Curses suddenly - to say nothing of the strange events we were forced to partake in the week before. I thought of you, and am hoping you're not too indisposed.

[ indisposed... Maya would laugh, if she wasn't nursing a forehead scrape from smacking into a tree, all because of this week.

Well, she does laugh a little anyway, under her breath, but she's touched by the concern. ]

I've kind of had a little trouble. Nothing big! Just seeing things that aren't really happening, but it's hard to tell the difference at this point. But really, I'm fine! No need to worry.

[ after their conversation on the forum, it seemed only polite to extend an offer to go "fishing" with him down by the harbor. there are plenty of strange creatures to be discovered in the water, and he needs to try picking up some sources of protein for his beautiful, perfect, excellent chicken daughter.

apparently, fish and fish guts are good for chickens! who knew! either way, he picks a day that seems to have the best conditions for fishing, based on his roommates who know a whole lot more about it than he does, and contacts maya to get together at the harbor.

so, here he is, waiting for maya... with a net and a line and a box, all supplies he is about 50% sure on how to use. ]

[ That's honestly more than Maya knows about fishing, so really, they're going to do great. Or so she's going to make herself believe as she makes her way down to the harbor.

It occurs to her rather belatedly that she's never actually met Dextera in person, but... well, there can only be so many people waiting to go fishing right now, right? That ought to help narrow it down! ]

[ And lo and behold, there's a person with fishing supplies, so she's going in strong! ]

[Though his lack of curiosity stops him from approaching her when he first sees her walking around with a blindfold, it doesn't stop him from rushing to her side when she bumps right into a tree.]
