[ That first week of June. ]

[ If you are a teenager or younger, regardless of whether or not this young woman has met you, she's looking incredibly upset the minute she gets a good look at you. This is a prelude to her hurrying over, gaze anxious, as she looks you over and-- ]

This is... definitely going to be a weird question, but are you actually hurt?

[ SHE MIGHT LOOK LIKE SHE'S ABOUT TO CRY. ]

[ Alternatively, she can be spotted making a much slower way around the town. Slower because she's apparently decided to use her necktie as a blindfold, and even Maya isn't about to go sprinting about an area where she can't see.

It won't stop her from bumping into someone, or-- ]

Whoops! Sorry!!

[ A tree. Or the well. Or literally anything else, but she doesn't seem keen to take that blindfold off? Wonder why???? ]

[ After the very emotionally draining week she'd had, forcing positivity into her life and others seemed like a good way to push all of the unpleasant thoughts that came with the week away. Seeing the tower everywhere she went was such an odd mix of emotions. It was home, but now that she saw it as what it really was, to call it bittersweet wasn't even correct. It was only bitter. She appreciates having run into Maya by chance, and a small, joking idea became something more serious.

Or, well. "Serious."

She looks to Maya, and with a little smile, she copies her posture. ]

Let's not let just one week bother us. We can do this.

[ Though she has to add with a little laugh: ]

...But maybe not explode. I don't think that's very positive.

Well, good enough? I can't really complain considering what other people have had to deal with...

[ Since seeing everywhere as the tower is uncomfortable, but it's not wholly bad. It was home for such a long time, after all, and she had seen others dealing with worse for sure. But not wanting to dwell on that (it would absolutely be negative), she smiles and adds with a small laugh: ]

Definitely glad that I can eat again. [ She nods to Maya ] What about you?

[personal profile] extrapolating 2018-06-07 02:02 pm (UTC)(link)
[ She nods ]

It was. I ended up deciding that not eating wasn't really worth it, so... [ She shrugs, but with a smile. This is not negative she would insist to whatever/whoever is judging this particular quest, because eating is very positive!! Duh!! ]

It's the same for me. I- Well, I thought that this would be a good way to shake off last week. There's a lot I have to be grateful for, after all, so expressing it seems like the perfect way to forget about a bad week.

[ She laughs warmly, since honestly, it helps to hang out with Maya. They may not know each other well (yet, in Elizabeth's opinion), but it's clear that Maya is a natural beacon of positivity. ]

And so are you. At least this quest is a lot easier than others, I think.

[ At least when you're these two. At this point, Elizabeth will start to walk, since it's definitely time to start spreading this cheer to other people if they run into them. ]

Um... Let's see... [ Elizabeth turns thoughtful as she tries to think of something else, but with a little oh, she brightens ] I noticed some new colors recently! It's still very weird that it happens, but it seems like we're making progress.

[ If Maya brightens anymore she's going to explode oh my god ]

I definitely do too. [ She laughs ] But that might be because it's much easier to tell people apart. It's a little better now that I know what all of the letters and numbers actually mean, but it's easier to remember a shade than that.

[ Which, speaking of... ]

I don't know how, since we have to do everything ourselves, but I hope that we can get paint and its colors back eventually. I'd really love to paint this place.

[ She makes a thoughtful noise as she mulls it over, but it doesn't take her long to come up with an answer ]

Well, I think I'll have the grays covered, but for splashes of color... Blues and greens, so I could paint the boats that are also house around where I live. I... don't really trust them enough to live on one, but I think they're very cute.

[ She thinks about it a little more, then adds: ]

I don't really need color for it, but I'd also like to sketch some of the people I've met, like you.

[personal profile] extrapolating 2018-06-11 02:03 pm (UTC)(link)
That's okay. It'll be good practice, since I'm used to drawing still life.

[ Any time she drew portraits, it was always something remembered. Sometimes she would see someone through her Tears that would catch her eye, and she'd sketch them, but it was always from memory. Even though it's a strange thing to be excited about, it's actually kind of exciting to possibly draw someone real. ]

I love art, though. I... had a lot of free time growing up, so I have lots of hobbies. Drawing and painting is one of them.

[personal profile] extrapolating 2018-06-12 04:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, that's definitely true.

[ She really appreciates the positive spin here, since it's honestly a much better way to look at it. It's not nearly as depressing as just why she has so many hobbies. Her expression turns playfully wry. ]

I think if it weren't for that, I'd be especially bored here. [ She pauses, thinks about it, then, ] ...I wonder if anyone else would be interested. I might be able to teach some things.

[ She laughs ]

Well, in that case, I'll have to seriously look into it. I haven't seen much in the way of art supplies that would really be useful, but... [ She shrugs ] There's definitely charcoal. Or we can make it.

[ Luckily, that might just work with the uh. State of things they're given here. ]

[personal profile] extrapolating 2018-06-15 03:49 pm (UTC)(link)
There might be. I hadn't really thought to look.

[ Though the idea of painting with colorless paints actually holds some appeal to her too. She imagines what painting something like the Eiffel tower might look like with random colors restored over time, and she giggles. ]

It might be fun even if they don't have color. Once those colors come back, it would definitely be something... [ how to put this ] ...unique.

[personal profile] extrapolating 2018-06-18 10:32 pm (UTC)(link)
It would definitely be, um... unique! Usually I'd like colors that match, but I think it'd be just as fun if they were really terrible.

[ The thought of it makes her laugh, and she shakes her head ]

...If you could paint anything, what do you think you'd paint?

[personal profile] extrapolating 2018-06-19 02:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Either would be beautiful. I think under the ocean especially.

[ She pauses before she shares, but with a nod, she decides to. She'll probably have to explain Tears, but she thinks it's worth it. ]

You know, I've seen a city under the sea before. I don't know anything about it, but it's absolutely beautiful. It was inside a building when I looked, and a whale just swam right overhead!

[personal profile] extrapolating 2018-06-20 02:16 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Elizabeth nods excitedly, even though her answer is... lacking. But she thinks so too. ]

Yes! I have-- Well, I have no idea how, or even what it was called, but it was beautiful. I only saw it once, years ago. I always hoped I might get to see it again.

[ But she shrugs, then looks to the sky ]

But I guess a city under the ocean isn't that much stranger than one in the sky.
