starswept!
[ That first week of June. ]
[ If you are a teenager or younger, regardless of whether or not this young woman has met you, she's looking incredibly upset the minute she gets a good look at you. This is a prelude to her hurrying over, gaze anxious, as she looks you over and-- ]
This is... definitely going to be a weird question, but are you actually hurt?
[ SHE MIGHT LOOK LIKE SHE'S ABOUT TO CRY. ]
[ Alternatively, she can be spotted making a much slower way around the town. Slower because she's apparently decided to use her necktie as a blindfold, and even Maya isn't about to go sprinting about an area where she can't see.
It won't stop her from bumping into someone, or-- ]
Whoops! Sorry!!
[ A tree. Or the well. Or literally anything else, but she doesn't seem keen to take that blindfold off? Wonder why???? ]

[ she's so proud of you. So many people had been grumpy as all get-out during the event, so this is definitely refreshing. ]
no subject
And so are you. At least this quest is a lot easier than others, I think.
[ At least when you're these two. At this point, Elizabeth will start to walk, since it's definitely time to start spreading this cheer to other people if they run into them. ]
Um... Let's see... [ Elizabeth turns thoughtful as she tries to think of something else, but with a little oh, she brightens ] I noticed some new colors recently! It's still very weird that it happens, but it seems like we're making progress.
no subject
[ Maya brightens (more), nodding vigorously. ]
I was wondering what it would be like to see the colors coming back, and I still think it'd be amazing to see it as it actually happens, but! I have to say, I really enjoy being a lot more colorful on the forum now!
no subject
I definitely do too. [ She laughs ] But that might be because it's much easier to tell people apart. It's a little better now that I know what all of the letters and numbers actually mean, but it's easier to remember a shade than that.
[ Which, speaking of... ]
I don't know how, since we have to do everything ourselves, but I hope that we can get paint and its colors back eventually. I'd really love to paint this place.
no subject
[ who knows-- but Maya thinks she can remember that much to let her know if she does see that sort of thing crop up one day. ]
no subject
Well, I think I'll have the grays covered, but for splashes of color... Blues and greens, so I could paint the boats that are also house around where I live. I... don't really trust them enough to live on one, but I think they're very cute.
[ She thinks about it a little more, then adds: ]
I don't really need color for it, but I'd also like to sketch some of the people I've met, like you.
no subject
Both? Why not both? Both is good. ]
I didn't know you were an artist! I mean, you're welcome to sketch me, but I might have a hard time staying still for too long.
no subject
[ Any time she drew portraits, it was always something remembered. Sometimes she would see someone through her Tears that would catch her eye, and she'd sketch them, but it was always from memory. Even though it's a strange thing to be excited about, it's actually kind of exciting to possibly draw someone real. ]
I love art, though. I... had a lot of free time growing up, so I have lots of hobbies. Drawing and painting is one of them.
no subject
[ as far as she's concerned, that's a great thing. ]
no subject
[ She really appreciates the positive spin here, since it's honestly a much better way to look at it. It's not nearly as depressing as just why she has so many hobbies. Her expression turns playfully wry. ]
I think if it weren't for that, I'd be especially bored here. [ She pauses, thinks about it, then, ] ...I wonder if anyone else would be interested. I might be able to teach some things.
no subject
[ Rather, it sounds incredibly exciting to her. ]
no subject
Well, in that case, I'll have to seriously look into it. I haven't seen much in the way of art supplies that would really be useful, but... [ She shrugs ] There's definitely charcoal. Or we can make it.
[ Luckily, that might just work with the uh. State of things they're given here. ]
no subject
If not, charcoal works!
no subject
[ Though the idea of painting with colorless paints actually holds some appeal to her too. She imagines what painting something like the Eiffel tower might look like with random colors restored over time, and she giggles. ]
It might be fun even if they don't have color. Once those colors come back, it would definitely be something... [ how to put this ] ...unique.
no subject
[ seriously. ]
I would love to see that! It's like an entirely new art form.
no subject
[ The thought of it makes her laugh, and she shakes her head ]
...If you could paint anything, what do you think you'd paint?
no subject
no subject
[ She pauses before she shares, but with a nod, she decides to. She'll probably have to explain Tears, but she thinks it's worth it. ]
You know, I've seen a city under the sea before. I don't know anything about it, but it's absolutely beautiful. It was inside a building when I looked, and a whale just swam right overhead!
no subject
[ Yeah, Maya's already looking incredibly intrigued. ]
no subject
Yes! I have-- Well, I have no idea how, or even what it was called, but it was beautiful. I only saw it once, years ago. I always hoped I might get to see it again.
[ But she shrugs, then looks to the sky ]
But I guess a city under the ocean isn't that much stranger than one in the sky.
no subject
[ yes, Maya's been in places in the sky before, but... well, they hadn't been all that great. ]
no subject
[ SINCE BOY IT IS NOT POSITIVE... ]
But it was very beautiful.
no subject
[ This leads to better friendship; she's genuinely excited. ]
no subject
You're really good at this quest, you know? If I didn't know better, I'd say it was directed at you.
[ But she's definitely teasing, since with another little nod, she adds: ]
I'm glad. I think I needed this kind of positivity too.
no subject
[ not that she seemed like she was feeling down, but... ]
