t's pretty dark and miserable down in the well. The cavernous area feels much larger than a well should be, bodies milling about in the darkness and knee deep, frigid water. So you're here -- and you're not alone, and the only way out appears to be the thin circle of sunlight from above, the opening of the well. (And elsewhere, in the Town, everyone's waking up to gifts of various usefulness, but hopefully they remember to check the well today even so!) What now? Welcome to Awash's tenth event log, and the intro log for this month, everyone! All new characters have found themselves waking in the well in the middle of the Town. [ Sorry Tonbo, he's not listening to a word you're saying, because oh my god a horse and also armor and a spear?! What the hell, that's so cool!

Jion stares in abject fascination for a moment, almost frozen in awe, before realizing he's being kinda rude. ]

-- uh, yeah! Right! Gotcha. [ He has no idea what he just agreed to. ] Sorry, I -- man, you totally caught me off-guard. Is all that real? The spear and the armor? They look so neat ... Can I come closer? Is your horse gonna be okay with that?

[ He's never actually seen a horse in person before, and he really wants to ask if he can pet it, but horses can get skittish around strangers, right. ]

i. i abandoned my boy

[ After getting out of the well,one of Chroma's newest residents is distinctly focused on something else. So for at least a while after the new arrivals have appeared, you're likely to see an extremely (and oddly) well-dressed man exploring Chroma seemingly with a purpose and with a look of worry. If he happens to run into someone in the town itself, he will at least pause to ask: ]

Pardon me— [ Oh, and his accent is exceedingly posh, upper class British ] Have you seen a young man of thirteen or so about? Blue hair, an eyepatch, quite short for his age...

[ It definitely feels good to dunk on Ciel when he's not here to defend himself. ]

[ This exploration of the town with a single purpose continues until Sebastian makes it to the edge of the forest. There, he pauses thoughtfully. At least save for the strange colors, he doesn't immediately feel or see anything wrong, but... Considering the last time he went exploring a strange forest, it was full of mustard gas, well. Best to be careful. Or more accurately, best to take a much more fragile person along with him as a proverbial canary, right? ]

Excuse me— [ If he sees someone wandering nearby, he'll politely call out to them ] Is there anything you could tell me about this forest?

[ Or quite a bit later (AKA when Sebastian is well satisfied that Ciel is not, in fact, here), there are other things to be done. Because you know, even if there are dedicated souls trying to improve Chroma, it's still absolutely not up to Sebastian's personal standards of unattainable excellence. Technically, he could just will the town into perfection, but... Ciel has created something of a bad habit in him by now. One, doing so would surely reveal his true nature, and two? Well.

There's a house in Ruga that has a wide variety of things piled up outside it. Wood, furniture, nails... You need a home improvement item and it's probably in the pile of stuff. Because today, Sebastian has ditched the tailcoat and quite literally rolled up his sleeves and is taking the home improvement task to work by hand... His house is a piece of shit, and he will absolutely not stand for it.

So. You're likely to hear a fair amount of noise from Sebastian fixing up the furniture in his pile, and he's doing a surprisingly good job of it, all things considered... Though as you approach in curiosity, he will stop hammering away and look up almost apologetically. ]

Oh, dear, I hope that I am not being too loud... Is it disturbing you?

[ The usual wildcard prompt! Make something up, recruit Sebastian for a quest with you, whatever! I'm excited to get him doing dumb shit, so hit me up.

Also, a note! Sebastian is a demon, and that's quite easily sensed by anyone that could do so, but before that, please send me a PM or hit me up on plurk at yeezus just to make sure we're on the same page. Similarly, I have a permissions post for Sebastian being able to check out peoples souls here, so if you could fill that out, it'd be apprecaited! ]

That was the plan, yes... Although I've already been lectured more than once about the apparent danger of wandering into this particular forest.

[And yet, he's still here? No one else is taking copious notes that he's found so far, which means it's up to him to make this bad decision.]

I don't know how to fight, you see, and the forest is supposedly rife with dangerous creatures.

( Mutsunokami jumps, swatting at this bird that's come a little too close for comfort without warning. )

( But it's like he blinked and suddenly there wasn't a bird but a girl? He's certain he saw a bird though and he looks around to see if he can see if he can see where it went. Except... there's nothing in the air around him and what this girl says next is-- wait so... she was the bird? )

Do they turn into birds where you're from?!

[ That promptly stops him in his tracks. ]

Uh. [ He technically did say 'a quick question'. ] Yyyyyyesbut. Well. I mean ...

[ Now he feels kinda bad about waffling. What if this guy's busy and can only answer one question? An awkward pause before Jion raising his fingers. ] Maybe two?

( everything is a jrpg if you try hard enough. he isn't breaking anything though! just. touching it. he's got this nifty ipad in hand by the time mutsunokami speaks up, but yuu hasn't even figured out. . how to get the screen on yet. good times. )

Oh, hey. ( head turning around to face him, but he's still not. putting the ipad down. the fuck, yuu. ) I was looking for my laptop. Have you seen it?

Jion is all too happy to accept that invitation, eagerly trotting forward to he can get a closer look at that weird instrument.

"Sorry, I wasn't sure if it would, like, break your concentration or something if I suddenly showed up and sat too close. But that was really neat! I didn't expect to hear music outta nowhere, so it was really nice. Are you some sort of traveling performer?"

Well... no, not really. Everyone's kind of in the same boat, so we tend to try to work together. Not to say that there aren't troublemakers here, but they're not malicious... [Mostly.]

There's plenty to do, Valvatorez-san. If you're good at fishing, it might be helpful if you can help us get more fish to store for the winter... that's coming up, I think. The weather's been changing a little.

[ Jion's not the smartest guy around, but he does know to follow orders, which means he wouldn't go venturing into that forest alone, no way. Still, this guy looks like he knows what he's doing, so ... After staring nervously into the woods for a moment, he rubs at his face. His response is slightly mumbled. ]

Uh. Well ... you probably shouldn't go alone. So if you're really determined, I can go with you. I'd be useful in a fight.

“Something of the sort, though I am a knight by vocation.” He manages to smile. Ah, what a nice kid…kind of reminds him of his own master back home. Tristan even obligingly holds the harp up close so Jion can see it, albeit with a gentle admonishment that he be careful not to touch it. It’s still a dangerous weapon, after all.

[Of all the people Shouto was expecting to arrive in Chroma, All Might wasn't one of them. He does a double take and stares down this skinny version for a moment. And then, in his surprise-]

All Might?

[Is this a ghost or is this legitimately him?]

[...Somehow, Momo keeps focusing on the things that are just going to make his general sense of optimism even harder to hold onto. Minato pauses briefly, something that's probably a bit concerning...and then he sighs.]

Um... usually it's pretty peaceful.

When it's not, though, it...can be really hard. That's something to be prepared for, as best you can. Last month, a lot of people were kidnapped by sirens, for instance.

[That probably counts as pretty bad and pretty painful.]

( So it's just a man and his cat, huh? Mutsunokami is the opposite of a cat person. Honestly, he's more of a dog person which is probably why he notices something is up even if he can't see it exactly. His attention is more drawn to the presence he's sensing than it is to the man and it doesn't take him long to figure out the guy is carrying some sort of spirit. Because Mutsunokami is curious and has no impulse control, he calls out, )

What's that? ( He tilts his head curiously and tries to look more carefully at whatever he's holding. He he squints... Ah, he thinks he sees it now. Look, he might be a spirit himself but he's not the most spiritual sword in the armory. He's a little slow! ) How're ya holding that?

( And looking at Ryan, )

Are ya some kind of sage?

[ Well, he's pretty sure most animals couldn't kill him too easily. But that's still pretty discomforting to hear. ]

As in ... extra legs? More eyes? [ Those are the only types of mutations he's familiar with, whether it be from chemical or radiation poisoning. ] And what kinda other things?

... Mm. Well, I'd have to hear your story first, if you ever want to talk about it. But I wouldn't necessarily say that's true.

( he has seen guren, yes. but do you think yuu is observant enough to notice matching bracelets? of course not. both hands plant down against his hips, lips pursing as he looks this dude over. )

You gonna give me an answer, or just stand there? Who are you anyway?

[That desperation hurts. He did what he had to do, and he still doesn't regret it; it was a choice he had to make, and he knows that that's the case.

And yet...

Seeing that frozen fear, that desperation on Aigis' face, he can't help but wish that he could have spared her all of this. Aigis, who is still coming to terms with many of her own feelings...she's deserved so much better than this.

(And yet, selfishly, he's just happy that he gets to see her again. Selfishly, because he knows it probably would have been better if she never--)

He drags in a slow breath, and steps forward, nodding quietly. What else can he do?]

I'm not... going anywhere. [Not yet.]

I'm right here. [For now.

And he can't promise anything more than that; right now, all they have is "for now".]

[ Dragging himself back one more pace, though at least his breathing's calmed down a little, since Valvatorez doesn't look like he's gonna do the bat-thing again. ]

That doesn't even make any sense! Vampires are vampires and demons are demons. And ... and neither of them are even supposed to be real!

[Shouto actually was on a walk and he definitely knows better than to walk himself into the forest. It always seems to be a different thing in there. Especially when it's not a quest related stroll.

So he sounds skeptical.]

Into the forest? Alone?

[Val looks perfectly like himself and he hasn't been asked to turn into something. So here he is.]

I know demons have been slacking in their noble duties, but I assure you I am real. Vampires are a subclass of demons where I'm from.
