Event Ten.

Pushed his sister in a well. Mother said, while drawing water, "My, it's hard to raise a daughter." | |
Welcome to Awash's tenth event log, and the intro log for this month, everyone! All new characters have found themselves waking in the well in the middle of the Town. Hopefully they can get a hand out! For more information, please go here! |

...We could go in quickly, if you really want. But not too deep. I'm trying to catch people who are thinking of wandering in alone.
no subject
I only need a few minutes to record some preliminary findings, if that's alright.
no subject
[He doesn't want a death on his conscience!! Anyway, he's just walking right in, then. Keep up with those tall Reim legs.]
no subject
--Now then, what- oh- [he gets branched right in the side of the head while trying to write notes and walk at the same time] What are the most common dangers of the forest?
no subject
The deeper you go, the worse it gets. There are mythological creatures, like harpies, but even the normal animals of the forest are twisted. As if their mutations weren't enough, like birds with three sets of wings or four feet, they can sometimes do out of the norm things like breathe fire.
It can play with your mind, too. Mazes out of nowhere, spirits or demons appearing to test your resolve... Almost everyone has had their own experience in here.
But if you stay shallow like this, it's not such a bad thing.
no subject
I saw a few strange animals back in town... You do make a case for never coming in here again, after today.
[He says this, but he'll be back because apparently people always need reds for fighting stuff in here, but he mercifully doesn't know that yet. Soon.]
Is it known why the animals look that way?
no subject
[It's weird as shit what comes in here sometimes, but he doesn't pretend to understand.] Anyway, no, not really. I can only assume it has to do with the magical energy surrounding this place.
Sometimes there are hybrid animals, and when someone I know purified them, they separated— one of the animals died, and the other came back fully healthy and normal. It's corruption doing this, one way or another.
no subject
I see. And this corruption therefore is synonymous with the magical energy...? Does it have a source?
no subject
[So... beats him. There's some rustling between the trees now, and Guren curls his fingers on his sword, just in case, glancing to it. Nothing, at least not now.]
no subject
Now, you must have some idea as to why only certain items have color to them.
[Of course it's more nerd stuff.]
no subject
Nothing had color except us when the first group arrived. It seems like forming bonds with each other, whether positive or negative, helps restore color to the world.
It doesn't come back so normal all the time, though. If you haven't noticed. [Like... purple ketchup.
The rustling increases all at once, and out comes... a squirrel. A mutated squirrel with two tails the size of a small dog. It gives each of them a look, sits on its back legs, and then runs up a tree like a normal squirrel would. Thanks.]
no subject
That-- yes, well, I've noticed plenty of things aren't exactly normal.
[Letting... go..... he's fine.]
no subject
There are quests posted on the forums each month, too, by a username we can't connect to anyone. [Sorry this isn't very ye olde, Reim. The squirrel is gone, at least, and Guren looks back at him.] This is the first time there's been a quest that's aiming to pit us against each other... but the rest of them are pretty standard. They've been helping with the color, too, I think.
no subject
Some kind of task and reward system...? That seems like a tedious way to get things done on such a large scale. The color is... well, there still isn't much of it, from what I've seen.
no subject
Tedious is right. There's not much of it, and it's coming in all wrong. I don't know what we're actually doing with it, but if we refuse to do the quests, it's more of a problem, so that's where we're at right now.
no subject
[That's an example, don't bully him. He's only seen one mutated thing up close and it happened to be a big squirrel, so that's what he has to work with here!!]
no subject
Our houses started caving in around us if we didn't clean things fast enough, for the first big quest we had here.
no subject
That won't be a problem, [he says automatically like the true nerd he is] I am fastidious.
no subject
[Well, he's really glad Reim is good at being a butler, though. They all desperately need more people like that, anyway?]
no subject
[Terrifying. He'll stay home and clean.]
I will lock my doors. Perhaps twice.
no subject
[Reim is funny, he's like... so not like anyone from Guren's world since they're all army types prepared to fight or die. It's a nice change. Endearing, he guesses? But anyway, he puts out his hand to stop their walking, glancing into the forest.]
If we keep going this way, I can sense something a lot worse than that squirrel thing. I'm sure I can take it no problem, but it's up to you if you want to see it or not.
