Intro Log.

Pussy's in the well. Who put her in? Little Johnny Thin. Who pulled her out? Little Tommy Stout. What a naughty boy was that, To try to drown poor pussy cat, Who never did him any harm, But killed all the mice in the farmer's barn.
Welcome to Awash's first intro log, everyone! Please review the FAQ and rules before playing. Characters have all woken at the bottom of the well in the middle of the town (which seems a lot bigger on the inside, somehow), and it looks like they'll have to put in some work to get out.

ou wake in knee-deep water, cold as ice and stagnant, in a space that is far too echoey and spacious. It feels like a massive cave, but looking up... there's only one small, circular opening that shows grey sky and shines any sort of light.

[Estelle is normally a bit slow to wake, but the cold and wet are an excellent motivate to wake up quickly with a irritable groan of complaint. What the he--]
What the heck?!?! Where am I?!
[She jumps to her feet, possibly kicking or elbowing someone on accident in the process. Hope you weren't standing too close, this girl is tiny but loud. Someone should probably tell her to quiet down in such a crowded space.]
Town
Okaaaaay.... this is creepy.
[Creepy was an understatement. Finally free of the well but definitely still drenched, Estelle clutches her staff as she wanders the town. There seemed to be no one occupying any of the buildings, as far as she could see.... but she could almost forgive the abandoned state of the place in light of the eerie grayness of the world around her. It almost felt like a bad dream... one that a cold drenching in water sure hadn't woken her from.]
.....What happened here.....?
Ruga
[Of course, eventually Estelle is drawn to the districts, the red one first and formost. She peers inside one house after another, frowning at the disarray. Abandoned here, too, huh.....]
No one has been here a long time.... everything's rotted. So then how did we get here?
[She pokes at one of the laptops, frowning a little as she taps the keys tentatively.]
It's so dinky.... but it kinda looks like... hm.
[Someone please stop her before she accidentally breaks one, this girl is inept with technology.]
General Store
[Well one thing's for sure, if they were going to be stuck here for awhile, they needed food. Once the general store is located, Estelle will be poking around, picking up an old dusty can with a cheerful smile. The seal was intact!]
Well at least we've got some preserved stuff! We can always hunt down fresh food. Maybe there's something I can use for a fishing rod around here....
Wildcard
[Estelle can be run into pretty much everywhere, she's in investigation mode. Feel free to contact me at
general store
That's a good idea! We're lucky that there's something we can eat in this place, but we should have some of these cans saved up for later, too. [Just in case.] I bet if we look around, we might be able to find a rod... um, or supplies to make one.
[He scratches at his cheek, frowning slightly.] I feel a little bad taking stuff without asking, but it doesn't look like anyone's lived here for a long time.
general store
[Estelle seems rather pleased by the thought, stacking the can on top of another as she rummages around the shelves. She plans to pile everything that still seems edible up as she goes.]
I get what you're saying about taking the stuff, but..... I've got this feeling that people probably aren't coming back here either.
no subject
I wonder what happened. I mean...this whole place is so grey and colorless, even the forest. That can't be normal.
no subject
[She'd sure run from a place like this, anyway.]

he offers the can to estelle after first tapping her on the shoulder, and gestures to his nose. is this weird...? ]
\o/
Huh....? Nose?
[She needs a few seconds before the message gets across and a look of realization crosses her face.]
Oh! You want me to smell it?
no subject
he extends the can a little further. smell it. ]
no subject
It's got no scent....? But...
[She looks at it in contemplation before reaching into the can to pull out a pinch of the processed meat product with a frown.
....is she actually going to--]

town!
and it's pretty obvious to see that the only color in this town was the ones contained on the visages of the people back in the well. he happens upon estelle pretty easily, as she seems to have the same mind about her as well.]
I wonder if a Primal Beast is sucking up all the color in this town.
no subject
A primal beast.....? Some sort of monster?
[Estelle glances up at Gran, giving him a curious look. She's glad she's got her staff, if they might have to fight monsters here.... But it was so quiet.]
I've seen a lot of monsters, but nothing that can do this to a whole town.
no subject
[it's how he got here in the first place. they were all ready to destroy the corruption affecting Leviathan, but the next thing he knew, he was drowning in water until being relocated to the bottom of this well. he still thinks that this is a side effect of the primal. what other explanation could it be?]
I've seen monsters that are able to flatten an entire town with wind storms, I guess having power over colors wouldn't be too crazy of a concept.
[Wait... if she didn't know about these beasts...]
Where are you from?
no subject
[But this place didn't look like anywhere in Liberl she'd ever seen.... and she'd walked the length and breadth of it, pretty much.]
I've seen things that can do that kind of thing, but never monsters themselves. They generally keep outside of towns thanks to orbments. Guardians going crazy though....
[No, it couldn't be the gospels.]
Is this another country?
town;
I know of a place that's as colorless as this world is. But the Timeless River has so much more life, despite that. Here, everything feels...
[Dead.]
Re: town;
[Estelle can feel it, too. It was like not just the color, but every bit of life had been sucked out of the town around them.]
Maybe it's just the absence of people, but.... this place is off somehow.
no subject
I think...I think that there must be something affecting this place. Or at least someone behind this. None of us would be here if that weren't the case. And-- it or they must be powerful, too, to have brought so many of us.

town
[Shiho certainly doesn't know no matter how many things she's touched in a bid to figure it out using her psychometry. Was a complete lack of memory normal? She didn't think so. A town couldn't just spring up out of nowhere, from nothing.]
It feels like a trap.
no subject
[Estelle taps her fingers against her staff as she glances around at the buildings, considering.]
So they had to transport the whole bunch of us at once to somewhere remote like this, all while making sure no one woke up. And that's not even getting into the creepy state of everything.....
no subject
But that's just her.]
Or maybe none of us have been transported anywhere and we're all just hallucinating back in our own worlds. I don't think we've been drugged... [But she doesn't sound sure of it.]

[Oh the Glorious. Which was a whole other bag of freaky she did not want to get into right now. She turns to Dave with a sheepish smile.]
But if you know what it is, you know how to work it right?

well;
His expression shifts to a more calm expression, however, at her explosive question. ]
... I don't know. I'm going to guess you don't know anything about how we got here either, right?
Re: well;
Eheheh... sorry about that. But no, I don't know. I don't remember anything weird happening, either....
Do you think we've been kidnapped, or something?
no subject
Maybe.
[ He sounds a bit distracted, but he was admittedly swimming in a lot of disorientation and 'Yay I now have my body back!'. Once he's had time to actually settle, he'll do better. ]
It makes me wonder how someone would manage something like that. Without people remembering how it happened.
