Intro Log.

Pussy's in the well. Who put her in? Little Johnny Thin. Who pulled her out? Little Tommy Stout. What a naughty boy was that, To try to drown poor pussy cat, Who never did him any harm, But killed all the mice in the farmer's barn.
Welcome to Awash's first intro log, everyone! Please review the FAQ and rules before playing. Characters have all woken at the bottom of the well in the middle of the town (which seems a lot bigger on the inside, somehow), and it looks like they'll have to put in some work to get out.

ou wake in knee-deep water, cold as ice and stagnant, in a space that is far too echoey and spacious. It feels like a massive cave, but looking up... there's only one small, circular opening that shows grey sky and shines any sort of light.

[Estelle turns to Izuku, smiling widely.]
What if whoever was here last left behind something to tell us what happened? Like a newspaper, or a record, or-- you know. Something like that.
no subject
That's a good idea. Something that important must have been reported on! Let's check near the windows and check out counters. If the store has any newspapers or magazines, they're usually around there!
no subject
Yeah, we're sure to find something!
[And with that, she's going to leave the cans where they are and-- yep, she just took a running leap over a clerk counter in excitement. Don't mind her, she's a bit weird.]
Hmmhmm... magazine stand, maybe....?
no subject
There has to be something around here... ah! [Finally, he spots something that looks like a stack of papers just a couple feet away.] I think I found something! Urk. [The sound of dismay escapes him when he actually reaches the newspaper stack and looks at what's printed on there--or rather, what isn't printed on there, because it's all a rather depressing shade of grey and blank.] No way...
no subject
[She turns to face Izuku just as he gets a look at the newspaper stack, and her excited smile falls a little at the look on his face. Red eyes look to the newspaper, or what should be newspaper.... but it's blank.]
What....? Is that supposed to be newspaper...?
[She reaches out for it, rubbing her fingers over the surface. Nothing covering it. It was just....]
It's like it's been dyed through....
no subject
Let's check if the rest of them are like this. [Half of the pile gets pulled out, leaving the other half for Estelle to flip through if she wants to join him.]
no subject
Yeah, there's got to be something....!
[She'll start flipping through the pile, taking care to look between the sections of the newspaper in case it really is a case of the paper being dyed, somehow.]
no subject
There's...nothing. It's all gone. [Hopefully, he looks over at her.] Any luck?
no subject
It's all blank. It's definitely newspaper, it's folded the right way and the right thickness, but it's just.... like the words are gone.
[She clutches the paper she has in her hands a little tighter, but takes care not to rip it. Surely there was something....?]
no subject
[With a sigh, Izuku folds the papers back up and stacks them up again neatly, just to give his hands something to do as he thinks. It takes him another moment to notice how tightly she's holding onto the blank newspaper, but as soon as he does, he tries to get her attention.]
Hey. [When she looks at him, he'll smile as brightly as he can.] Just because things are a little weird right now doesn't mean we should let it get to us. Let's keep looking! We'll find something eventually.
no subject
When Izuku tries to reassure her, she beams back at him with a smile. She wasn't anywhere close to giving up, but the reminder is appreciated. She wasn't the only one looking, after all.]
Yeah, I know. And I know as long as everyone works together, we'll figure something out! It's just going to take time. Thanks.
no subject
So...it looks like newspapers and anything else printed is a dead end. Let's do something else instead! Um, like... fishing! Why don't we look around for fishing rods that you can use?
no subject
You want to help? Alright! We might not have information, but with a rod and a lake nearby, I can definitely get us some roast fish going.
[She seems pretty confident in the fact that she can catch something, doesn't she?]
no subject
Roast fish sounds pretty good right about now... I haven't eaten anything since this morning.
[And then he's perking up again.] I bet a lot of people haven't had anything to eat all day either. If we manage to find some fishing rods, you think we can catch some to share with everyone else?
no subject
Eheheh... same here, honestly.
[She needs her three square meals a day and snack breaks in between!]
But yeah, that's the plan. I wouldn't dream of only fishing up something for me.
