ou wake in knee-deep water, cold as ice and stagnant, in a space that is far too echoey and spacious. It feels like a massive cave, but looking up... there's only one small, circular opening that shows grey sky and shines any sort of light. It looks like a long trip upwards, a small cylinder with walls of brick that's just a little too high to reach, even when jumping. Getting out is probably going to be a bit of a task, especially considering the water is more than cold enough to make limbs go numb. The dark makes it impossible to see much further, but the space seems large, all filled with water, but with no other way out, stone walls the only thing for an intrepid explorer to find. But most importantly of all... you're not alone. Welcome to Awash's first intro log, everyone! Please review the FAQ and rules before playing. Characters have all woken at the bottom of the well in the middle of the town (which seems a lot bigger on the inside, somehow), and it looks like they'll have to put in some work to get out. Once out, they'll be free to explore the various locations the Town has to offer at will. Just try not to die on any of the far-too-rickety walkways. W-well.... [Twice, in fact, but she didn't want to talk about that.] You know, sleeping pills and stuff? I've taken those before. I figure it's kind of like that!

For that matter, where'd the laptops come from? A guy showed me them, but I don't understand why a town in this shape still has things that look brand new.

[That's a yes to the drugging, then.... Shiho is worried, now.] I don't think you taking sleeping pills counts as "being" drugged.

They could be part of the trap? I wish they'd given us something nicer than those laptops though.

Well I didn't say I was drugged, just that I figured it was like it.

But why leave us something useful like a communication device in a place like this? That seems helpful, if suspicious.

[Either way, Shiho hopes no more drugging is going to go on here. At least, not if she could help it.]

Maybe there's something they want from us? Or it could be like the laptops and TVs that psychotic killers leave for their victims, telling them how they can escape if they just get rid of everyone else? [.....And now she's made it sound extremely suspicious, oops.]

[Estelle comes from simpler times where technology hasn't yet reached that level, so that sort of scenario is....

well, horrifying. She doesn't even know what a TV is.]

...I saw it in a movie once.

[Or was it twice? There were sequels but after a time she'd gotten kind of bored. Though she'd thought the movie was kind of ridiculous and if the killer had captured espers, it would have been very much shorter and an entirely different kind of movie.]

Kind of like a crime novel, but.... it’s moving pictures instead of just words. [So yes, completely fictional.]
