[Geese. He can't believe they're trekking through the woods to find geese. Not even just that, but they have to capture them? Capture doesn't imply murder like defeat does, and that makes this about ten times harder. Aren't geese mean as hell? Right now, they haven't found much of anything, but if it works just like everything else has, they'll run into them eventually. There's trees everywhere, but he doesn't think it even matters which direction they choose to go. As long as they walk into here, they'll probably find some geese. Weird, mutated geese.]

I don't suppose you're good with animals, are you?

Uh...I can put them in my sylladex if we get our hands on them? Which is hammerspace. And they can't bite us from there, I am pretty sure.

Hammerspace? Seriously?

[Well, time powers... He guesses that makes sense if you connect time and space, but also it makes no sense at all and is kind of unfair. Oh well. It's convenient.]

They won't die in there, will they? [As if on cue, there's the distant sound of a goose honking.]

Nah, living things can go in and stay safe. It just feels rude to do it all that often?

Huh.

[He can't imagine it's a pleasant experience... He almost wants to ask what it's like, and if he could put people in there. But. He'll save that for another time, maybe. For now, there's more honking following the first, and as they pass some more trees, there's a group of... brightly colored geese.]

[Here they are, standing in the middle of Guren's mess of a room. Well, it's not that he's a messy person— a part of the roof above his bed still hasn't been fixed since the town began falling apart, his bed is barely useable with how run down it is, and the only other feature to the room is a shitty desk and a chair in front of it, where his laptop sits. All of the other furniture in the room hardly looks useable, let alone able to be decorated, and Guren keeps his few changes of clothes in his closet.

Already, Guren is feeling a little dumb for agreeing to this. But he was curious, and if it completes a quest...]

So... how did you say you learned about this kind of thing, again?

[Shouto looks around and then looks up. That... sure is a hole? He knows interior decorating, not carpentry work. If he wants that there's probably somebody better to teach him about it. Shouto is, unfortunately, not the right kid for that.]

I watched a lot of shows when I had time.

What do you want it to look like?

[Ignore the roof hole, he's procrastinating on that.]

How should I know? You're the one teaching me. I just want my desk easy to access. Maybe I can move that bed out from under the hole, too.

[It was out of nowhere when he actually showed up in Akira's doorway, leaning casually against the door frame and asking this question. The quests had only just gone up a day or so ago, so it wasn't hard to figure out what he meant. But Guren was the one coming to Akira for this. He crosses his arms loosely.]

Akira looks up from whatever he's doing on his computer, tilting his head a little.]

If you have something to teach me.

[It's only a little bratty.]

Watch it, brat.

[But he still gets called out! With a smirk, though, which means that Guren isn't actually bothered.]

I'm the adult here, so I've got plenty I could teach you. It's just a matter of what you need the most. Technique? Or just a specific kind of move?

[Akira thinks it over, as he gets up and out of his chair. Really, he knows Guren probably has a lot he can teach. He's gotten help from various people over the time he's been a Phantom Thief, but none of them could truly teach him fighting. All of that he'd had to learn on his own, relying on instinct most of the time.

So he's interested in what Guren can show him.]

What kind of technique? With knives?

This might not be as easy as running a blade through her. [Guren speaks up suddenly as they walk through the forest, eyes carefully running through the trees. Another mission to kill a whore spider. Well, he'd wanted to see how many he could get away with doing, what it meant, what would happen. How many would appear, when they'd never seen one before. But every time, without fail, when he went into the forest searching for her, he'd find one.

It was strange.]

[Idly, he pushed up his glasses, realizing how much the last week had left him with an urge to fight more creatures that weren't just other people's shadows. Mitsuru's disappearance had merely thrown oil into the fire. He then shook his head silently.]

No, this is the first time I am doing this quest. [But he is quick to catch on.] Does this mean you have?

Yeah, a few times. It's different each time.

[Sometimes the webs are more difficult to see than others. Other times, she doesn't even bother with being a seductress and goes straight for a spider attack. It all depends on who's there, he's finding.]

[He strokes his chin in thought. What Guren was thinking, Kei was also.]

Interesting. Did you notice any connection between who you brought to the fight and how they reacted or looked? Did they seem to recognize you?

[The last question too, would imply a lot more things as well. He's hoping it's just similar creatures, much like the demons he encountered in his own world.]

[So, here they are, literally sitting around, bouncing ideas back and forth on how to complete this quest. Guren isn't sure if he has to be the one teaching or taught, but he'll try anything at this point, and there's no harm in it either way. The only problem is... they both seem to have a wide array of skills already at their disposal.]

No, I already know how to knife fight. The sword is my main weapon, but I was trained in a variety of ways to be strong. [He lets his cheek rest against a loose fist, squishing it there in his frustration. Hm.]

Let me guess: you already know how to use a sword, too.

Hardly my preferred weapon of choice, but yes, I'm competent enough with it.

[Which doesn't fit the requirement, frustratingly enough, because the charge is to learn a new skill, not improve on an existing one. Hngh.]

Let's see. I suppose it goes without saying that strategy, battlefield tactics — those would be right out?

[They've got that covered. He leans even more into his own hand, tired of this.] Not that we can do much about it here, but what about driving a car?

Since I was sixteen years old. Though you're right, that's arguably a moot point when we haven't a car to begin with.

[Ignis's sigh is basically confirmation that the suffering here is mutual.]

Swords, knives, tactics, driving — I'm assuming that as a functioning human being of adult age, you're at least passingly familiar with food preparation, we don't have a violin...

[That's right, we're fully into "grasping at straws" territory.]

[Here is Guren, standing tall and proud and pointing at both Joshua and Estelle like he's pre-scolding them. He's mostly teasing, but it is a message for them to focus.]

What do both of you know about this thing?

[Estelle scowls up at Guren, setting the hand not holding her staff on her hips, a slight flush to her cheeks. It's not like they'd let themselves get distracted on a job, geez...!!]

Honestly I don't know much. It sounds like a monster though. Joshua? What do you think?

[Haha, the reactions, even held back, are amusing. But alright! He'll push forward and ignore that for now.] They're a little like that. A Jorogumo is a youkai that appears most often to young men as a beautiful young woman that tries to seduce them. Using webs and other tricks, she aims to eat them up right before it gets good.
