[Estelle scowls up at Guren, setting the hand not holding her staff on her hips, a slight flush to her cheeks. It's not like they'd let themselves get distracted on a job, geez...!!]

Honestly I don't know much. It sounds like a monster though. Joshua? What do you think?

[ Joshua, for his part, succeeds at not blushing, and just going straight for "unamused." ]

I'm not familiar with the lore, but others have described it as a spider demon.

Uh huh.

[Haha, the reactions, even held back, are amusing. But alright! He'll push forward and ignore that for now.] They're a little like that. A Jorogumo is a youkai that appears most often to young men as a beautiful young woman that tries to seduce them. Using webs and other tricks, she aims to eat them up right before it gets good.

[Why does he have to say it like that] So, let's hear your idea of an approach knowing that.

[That.... sure painted a picture alright. Not one Estelle liked, either.]

[ Deadpan. Despite Estelle's occasional worries about it, Joshua really doesn't have a wandering eye. She might as well be the only girl that exists in his world. ]

There's nothing saying she won't target women, too. Men are just easy.

[That's his bet, anyway. A bunch of horny, fine looking young men getting whisked away by monsters... It's more likely than a girl. But he's sure they could be victims, too. Monsters who go for things like this rarely are that picky.]

Move past that. I'm telling you I want to hear your strategy.

[Wow, excuse!!! She is not going to get distracted by monster boobs either ok. Estelle lets out a breath before continuing.]

Well if she's a spider, mobility might be something we have to keep in mind. They like to slow you down, one way or another.

[She taps her fingers against her staff, frowning. She was not going to suggest Guren or Joshua make themselves bait, hell no. But....]

With our numbers, I'd suggest attacking from two sides, but.... that'd depend on the area we find her in, wouldn't it? She might set traps. So we can't count on that.

[Again, spider.]

So... A slow, careful approach, but quietly? An ambush isn't going to help us if we get caught in a web. But I'd like to hear what you and Joshua think.

[ He nods along with what Estelle's saying. ]

Not that a normal fight isn't four-dimensional, but against this kind of monster, I'd expect it to be even more so.

If her exoskeleton is much like a normal spider's...well, that depends whether we're thinking of something like a tarantula, or more like a daddy long-legs? We might be able to pierce the underside, but we'll probably have our best luck striking at the joints, where armor can't cover. And taking out the legs that way will help even the field for mobility, too.

[All good ideas and points!! He's feeling excited just talking about all of this, as weird as it is.]

Alright, I've got it. I'll go in as bait. I want to see you two in action, working at those plans of yours to make sure I don't get eaten. I've got my sword on me, just in case. But I already know how to fight creatures like this. What I want to know is how you do.

[Well, so much for not using the boys as bait. Estelle gives Guren a questioning look, but to her credit, she doesn't protest.]

Alright. Joshua, you're faster and observant-- you'll probably spot any traps before I do, do you think you can spot for us when we move in? And on the point of not getting eaten--

[Estelle rummages in her side pouch, pulling out her orbment.]

Maybe we can help with that, too.

[ Joshua, on the other hand, takes Guren's plan completely in stride. He knows what this thing is and is still volunteering to be the bait, okay. Guren's proven competent enough thus far that Joshua is taking that as "he knows what he's doing." ]

I can defend myself if things go south.

[He says that, but he's still peering curiously at the orbment.] But what's your idea with that, Estelle?

Some of our arts can help improve your defenses... or your speed, stuff like that. You'd know better than us which would work best for you. Before we attack, we can probably try to give you a boost.

[She shoots Joshua a look, before looking back to Guren. She's trusting Guren, basically, to tell them what would give him a better advantage here.]

It'll be temporary, but...

...I'm already faster than a human, but going faster wouldn't be a bad thing. I might be able to avoid being hit at all, if that's the case.
