t's pretty dark and miserable down in the well. The cavernous area feels much larger than a well should be, bodies milling about in the darkness and knee deep, frigid water. So you're here -- and you're not alone, and the only way out appears to be the thin circle of sunlight from above, the opening of the well. (And elsewhere, in the Town, everyone's waking up to gifts of various usefulness, but hopefully they remember to check the well today even so!) What now? Welcome to Awash's tenth event log, and the intro log for this month, everyone! All new characters have found themselves waking in the well in the middle of the Town. Oh man, I'd be really grateful if you could lend me a towel. Only if it's not too much trouble, though. Kinda looks like things around here are hectic enough as is, so ...

[ His words peter off with a really awkward laugh, because he's well aware he's contributing to the hectic atmosphere himself. ]

Well, the company is pretty fuckin' stellar, and I'm completely unbiased on that. [ no he's not ] We boast the best chef in like, fifty dimensions [ ignis ] a photography club with a princess in it, a student council that has only run one event, random prizes for completing quests up to and including magical music boxes and cherry pie, and a very shitty internet forum with ms paint capabilities.

[ he loves chroma, really. ]

[He shakes his head to indicate that it's simply not working.]

If you're going to hide behind a tree, you need to find one with a larger trunk. With the way things don't have color, and you do, you can't rely on blending in.

... Although said tiger does appear to be a tad overwhelmed, and backs up rather quickly once he puts her down, just in case he decides to take back his choice of granting her freedom. ]

[She shrugs a little, pushing her cloak back off of her shoulders to free up her hands, which she holds aloft but without explicitly doing anything yet.]

I usually just evaporate the water. Same thing as the sun's doing, but a lot faster. Assuming you're interested.

Yeah, as regular as it can be.

[If he's uncomfortable about the staring, or even notices it, he doesn't show anything. Of course he notices, really, but everyone comes from a different place. He couldn't just walk around with a sword in the open in the Japan before the catastrophe, either.]

Roughly, it's about... every eight to ten weeks. The number of people who shows up differs, but the method is always the same. You wake up in the bottom of that well and you don't know how you got there.

[Dirk Strider. He'll remember that name for later. Though, "looks like me but has pointier shades" is indeed an unhelpful description.

They're brothers, though, and biological by the sound of it. Connor is sure he can figure it out.]

[ zelda is at the moment walking past mogget to post her own notice on the board. she neglected to do so earlier thinking she still had time, but with new arrivals poking out of the well she wants to make sure her posting is up. she takes a moment to look at the map however, though she already knows her way around.

in her hurry she neglects noticing the cat, which would be odd on any day around here really, but takes immediate note when she hears the sound of the throat clear and a voice from below. oh... dear hylia. ]

Ah... [ yes, she's a little stunned thank you, but quickly recovers with- ] I know the paths around the town. Are you... new here, by any chance?

Yes. I want to see it up close. Can you survive being attacked while you're a ... colony, or whatever it is that's going on before you turned back into a demon again?

[ giorno's not really interested with the demon aspect until it's relevant to him again. the bats, however ... a colony, he could totally study a colony. ]

This is a Tohru reaction, but she's talking like Shigure, and Kisa's a little too flustered from almost faceplanting and now this--

Er, it's where demons are supposed to reside in my world. I guess. At least according to what I learned. Suffice to say, this isn't either of our worlds. Are you saying you lived there?

[ After another pause, in which she glances around, she carefully shakes her head.

[ Is he taking this seriously? Judging by the fact that he starts slowly smiling through this melodramatic speech, definitely not.

He's all smiles by the time he clips that last syllable. ]

[ ... Wonderful. But he also has a point, so now she's not sure what to do. If she leaves to find a larger trunk, what if he follows her? She was hiding from him anyway, and he's already talking to her, so--

There are a lot of dangerous things in the forest. Even the animals are mutated and might breathe fire.

I mean, it's usually safe if you stay on the outskirts but otherwise you really shouldn't go in by yourself.

[ zelda is for the moment seated on a rather sad looking bench in ruga, putting some notes into her sheikah slate (a tablet looking device for the modern day person.) when she perks her head up at the question, her face draws a blank and rather confused look. ]

Bus station? [ she knows what a station is, but a bus or train? not a clue. but that would mean- ] Sorry, but you won't find any of that here. Or Detroit.

[ if it knowingly existed here, she would have heard of it by now. best not to act like a complete fool and dumbly ask him what those things even are. ]

Like, people here ain't all from the same worlds, and also all of us got spit out of the well at one point or another. We keep forgettin' to install a ladder.

[ Awesome, he gets a place to stay. Not that Jion needs it -- he's pretty sure he could sleep just about anywhere. But still. A place to stay! With a roof! And maybe even a bed! He hasn't slept in a bed in a while. It might be great. Jion's obviously a little excited when he reaches his assigned unit.

Enough that it doesn't even occur to him that this isn't necessarily an assignment for a single room, and he's eagerly poking around at his new accomodations when he suddenly realizes he's not alone. ]

[ He turns around, startled, and his wet socks almost slip out from beneath him from the sudden movement. At least he catches himself against a wall before hitting the floor, and Jion looks at Giorno from that awkward position. ] I'm, uh, supposed to be here! I got assigned here.

Why would anybody attack a colony of bats? [Which is to say: nobody's ever tried to attack him while he was in that form. Why would they?] It's hard to hit me when I'm in dozens of pieces. Still, I'd survive even if one of my pieces was injured. [Maybe he'd lose some hit points at the very worst.

But he has no reason not to turn into a bunch of bats.

So he'll turn into a bunch of bats.
