Event Ten.

Little Willie, mean as hell,
Pushed his sister in a well.
Mother said, while drawing water,
"My, it's hard to raise a daughter."

t's pretty dark and miserable down in the well. The cavernous area feels much larger than a well should be, bodies milling about in the darkness and knee deep, frigid water. So you're here -- and you're not alone, and the only way out appears to be the thin circle of sunlight from above, the opening of the well.

(And elsewhere, in the Town, everyone's waking up to gifts of various usefulness, but hopefully they remember to check the well today even so!)

What now?

Welcome to Awash's tenth event log, and the intro log for this month, everyone! All new characters have found themselves waking in the well in the middle of the Town. Hopefully they can get a hand out! For more information, please go here!

Nice to meet you both. I'll admit I have a lot of questions, but they can wait... have you guys gotten some explanations already?

I've gotten some - this is Chroma, no one knows how we got here, and there are quests to do...

[ so, the barebones basics are covered with levy, at least. ]

[He nods along with Levy, and adds what he knows.]

Things with color have taste. Things without taste like ash.

... That's pretty much all of it, yeah. We bring color back by being here and by doing quests and...things.

You guys will probably be here for awhile, so please feel free to get comfortable.

[It's a clean house, at least!! Sans the dust in their rooms because Minato probably hasn't gone into any of the others since Vriska left.]

Well, in that case...! Which room is yours? Are there people in any of the others?

[And dragging his sardines with him. Actually.]

Since we're newly roommates, would either of you care for a tin of sardines? They're filled with healthy nutrients like omega three fatty acids!

My room is the one on the right at the top of the stairs. There's another room on that floor, and one more down on this floor. Take whichever you guys want.

Um--could you please put my share of the sardines in the kitchen...? We actually don't have a lot of food here, so...

I'll take the other upstairs room, if that's okay...

[ GLANCES AT THE SARDINE VAMPIRE. ]

And the same for me, for the sardines! I mean, if there's a kitchen that's the best place for them, anyway.

I have no preference. The room on this floor shall be mine.

[Anyway, now that they've said they wanted the sardines he'll put two tins in the kitchen. One for each of them.

Whatever food we have here is whatever we can grow or find for ourselves. So our food choices are a bit limited, even despite the color thing.

That would be great, Minato! [ she looks cheered by it, anyway... ] Ah, but...if it's growing things, I've helped take care of at least a little garden before.

As long as there's a flat surface I'll be fine. [He doubts there's a comfy coffin lying about.]

I've never had to grow anything. [Ah, the perils of just buying everything you need from shops.]

I can go fishing if there's a net or a fishing rod somewhere.

[In other words... they're both so much more prepared than he was when he first got here.

I have a fishing rod... we can go looking for another for you, Valvatorez-san. And McGarden-san [look at these horrible things you make me type] I can help you get in contact with the people running the communal garden in Flavo, but you're welcome to garden things around here too, of course.

[A beat.]

Honestly, like... so long as you don't cause any trouble for people, you can do whatever you want here. There aren't really any rules.

Just Levy is fine! [ plz do not type that horrible thing again, my word ] But that sounds a little hectic...no one damages property or anything?

[ look, she had to ask ]

I want to eat fresh sardines.

[There's a small pause.]

I'd also like something to do. Some kind of job. I'm not picky about what it is, but I can't sit idly by and do nothing while I'm stuck here.

Well... no, not really. Everyone's kind of in the same boat, so we tend to try to work together. Not to say that there aren't troublemakers here, but they're not malicious... [Mostly.]

There's plenty to do, Valvatorez-san. If you're good at fishing, it might be helpful if you can help us get more fish to store for the winter... that's coming up, I think. The weather's been changing a little.

Oh! Um, on that note...if you guys need anything in particular, you can ask me?

[ an embarrassed smile. ]

I'm a mage, after all, and I use "Solid Script", so...

What sorts of things can you do with it...? I've never heard of anything like that before.
