Pussy's in the well. Who put her in? Little Johnny Thin. Who pulled her out? Little Tommy Stout. What a naughty boy was that, To try to drown poor pussy cat, Who never did him any harm, But killed all the mice in the farmer's barn.
Welcome to Awash's first intro log, everyone! Please review the FAQ and rules before playing. Characters have all woken at the bottom of the well in the middle of the town (which seems a lot bigger on the inside, somehow), and it looks like they'll have to put in some work to get out.

ou wake in knee-deep water, cold as ice and stagnant, in a space that is far too echoey and spacious. It feels like a massive cave, but looking up... there's only one small, circular opening that shows grey sky and shines any sort of light.

It's one thing to wake up too early, disoriented and irritable but still otherwise warm in your bed and fully capable of tuning out whatever unnecessary noise might have woken you in the first place. It's a whole other when you wake up soaking wet, in the dark, chilled through without even so much as a blanket to pull over your head so you can grumble something about shooting a bullet through whomever decided to pull such a tasteless prank.
It was this second type of unwelcome awakening that Kyrie found himself taking part in, and frankly, he wasn't amused.
The initial jolt of cold had been enough to bring him to his feet, and its continued presence only pressed the matter of urgency in getting out. Finding familiar faces in the crowd was pointless as the darkness worked against him as much as the echoing of unfamiliar voices, and so he opted instead to push himself as far from the others as he could given the circumstance; he brought one hand up before him, snapped his fingers, and in a swift eruption of feathers and deafening caws, a veritable column of crows enveloped him. Between the noise and heat it was far from pleasant, but if it meant getting him out of there? He didn't care for the others' safety so much as his own.
It wasn't until he was safely on the ground above that he peered down into the depths of the well again, allowing his crows to disperse with a quickly waved hand. They weren't dismissed, not yet, and so they settled in the colorless surroundings with a vague unease that echoed his own.
"Hello," he called down, a cheery tone to his voice despite the distinct discomfort in both his eyes and posture. "I don't suppose any of you know why you're all down there?"
Nevermind that he could have taken some others with him...
II. Colorless town? No problem.
As for why Kyrie found himself wandering through the town that was somehow familiar and yet not, he wasn't sure. Although, perhaps that was the reason? He didn't know what to expect, and that alone gave his step purpose, each stride made with misplaced confidence as if consequence didn't matter--so long as he continued to learn of this new environment.
It seemed to be laid out similarly to the town he was used to, albeit in confusing greys that made distinguishing anything more difficult than it had to be, and with far fewer territories. He fully intended on talking a stroll through its entirety though, to better understand its layout as well as poke around until he found something (or someone) particularly interesting. Gotta love that flawless memory--if only someone could convince him to make a map.
III. Wildcard!

II - Colorless Town - Colorful Child
Hrm hrmm hrmm?! Hrmmr hrmmrhm hrmmrh mrhrm!
[Translation: What the fuck?! Watch where you're going!]

Or, no, of course, a lovely, darling child! How terrible.
At the disruption Kyrie promptly moved himself back a step, his narrowed eye a clear sign of his displeasure as he took in the sight of the child before him. As if it wasn't bad enough to be stuck in some unknown place, now he had some brat mumbling at him...? That's... just the worst.
"Why, it appears this town has sentient traffic cones. How repulsive."
no subject
Hrm hrm, hrmrhrm! Hrhm hrmmrh hr hrmrhrm hrmhrm mrrhrm!
[Translation: Fuck you, hipster! I'm not a fucking traffic cone!]

As it were, Kyrie only paused to let him speak--was it speech, really?--before he raised a brow, chuckling softly as he brought one hand to his chin in consideration.
"Even the idiots I have back home speak more coherently, I can't imagine how immeasurably stupid you must be."
Just insult him until he goes away... that'll work, surely.
no subject
I can talk just fine, you fucking hipster. How about you shut up before I punch you in the dick? You understand that alright?
no subject
So the cone has teeth! Kyrie grins, but the hard set of his visible eye is enough to showcase his irritation.
"Yes, and I'm so proud of you. In fact I'll even forgive you for running into me, as I'm sure a brat such as yourself has better things to do than apologize.
Or, if you're looking for suggestions, might I recommend finding someone else to bother?"

...yeah no he's probably just lost but all the same the gray isn't helping matters, so when he sees Kyrie ahead of him he jogs up to him and grins lightly. Maybe this guy has an answer.]
Hey. Have you checked out the forest yet?
no subject
"No, I'm afraid I haven't." He doesn't make a habit of wandering into the dangerous unknown alone, after all. With company and some weapons? No problem. But as of yet, all he has is a pistol--and that got soaked with weird water, so he's not particularly keen on using it. "It's not exactly the most inviting, though I'm sure some idiots have already ventured in despite that."
no subject
[...] Do you really think it's stupid to go out that way?
no subject
"It would depend on how far you intended to go, and who you might bring with you. Given the fact we've no idea why we're here to begin with, there's always the possibility that one of us is the culprit, after all, and wouldn't that be interesting?" Kyrie, no, this isn't the time to be spinning conspiracy theories. At least he doesn't sound too convinced, offering it with only a small laugh, his hands folding themselves neatly behind his back. "Regardless, there are far too many risks involved for it to be a trip made lightly.
The town itself, however, I might be able to assist with."
no subject
[But whatever!!] How much of the town do you know about?
no subject
He offered the boy a smile though, innocent enough despite the gleam to his eye.
"What do you have to offer in return?"

Nope!

Hey, teach me how to do that!
no subject
"It's quite easy, if you're a scarecrow." Helpful, Kyrie. If you aren't, then I'm afraid you're out of luck."
Time to see if this kid decides to prove himself useful! If he does, he might get himself a ride out.
no subject
Why would I want to scare the crows away?
[They're his friends :(]

"Nevermind that. How much do you weigh?"
no subject
Dunno. About as much as any ol' person, I guess.

Clearly, the best course of action here is to grab onto this guy's calf and try to catch a lift out of here.
"Room for one more!?"
Ekko NO
And then suddenly his eyes widen as he's falling, and his only saving grace is that he hadn't gotten very far, because there's some brat grabbing onto him from below. The crows holding him release their grip in a startled croak of noise and, in an instant, the two of them go crashing back down into the water.
In the same instant--or at least shockingly quick given the situation--Kyrie shoves himself away from the boy and draws his pistol from beneath his jacket with practiced ease, tsking under his breath as he pulls the trigger...
...to nothing more than a faint squirt of water. Wet powder's a bitch, ain't it?
"Tch..."

"Evening, miss." Well, at least it's probably evening. Afternoon? It's so damn hard to tell looking up, but he knows exactly how long they've been here, and it hasn't been that long... "I take it you went for an unexpected swim as well?"
gasp
Good evening, sir. I did, and I've only just finished drying off.
[She really only has this thin white dress, after all.]

Alas, no jacket is offered. He does, however, move in closer to lean lightly against whatever it is she's perched herself upon.
"That makes the two of us, then." He pauses, tilting his head subtly to glance down from the corner of his eye at what it is she's drawn. "It's a shame this landscape makes for such a terrible subject, isn't it? With no color to draw the eye, it makes for a terribly boring painting." Crayoning? Sure.
no subject
[She follows his gaze down to the drawing, chewing on her lip. The white and black crayons are getting a workout too, in her attempts to add some depth and shading to the piece, but it really looks...depressing.]
Maybe if I use the colors I think should be used? But then, that would defeat the purpose of why I'm drawing it at all.
