Intro Log.

Ding, dong, bell,
Pussy's in the well.
Who put her in?
Little Johnny Thin.
Who pulled her out?
Little Tommy Stout.
What a naughty boy was that,
To try to drown poor pussy cat,
Who never did him any harm,
But killed all the mice in the farmer's barn.

ou wake in knee-deep water, cold as ice and stagnant, in a space that is far too echoey and spacious. It feels like a massive cave, but looking up... there's only one small, circular opening that shows grey sky and shines any sort of light.

It looks like a long trip upwards, a small cylinder with walls of brick that's just a little too high to reach, even when jumping. Getting out is probably going to be a bit of a task, especially considering the water is more than cold enough to make limbs go numb.

The dark makes it impossible to see much further, but the space seems large, all filled with water, but with no other way out, stone walls the only thing for an intrepid explorer to find.

But most importantly of all... you're not alone.

Welcome to Awash's first intro log, everyone! Please review the FAQ and rules before playing. Characters have all woken at the bottom of the well in the middle of the town (which seems a lot bigger on the inside, somehow), and it looks like they'll have to put in some work to get out.

Once out, they'll be free to explore the various locations the Town has to offer at will. Just try not to die on any of the far-too-rickety walkways.

Further information can be found here at the OOC post, and don't forget to greet your fellow players here!

You've been blessed by the rare Polite Kyrie

While the girl herself isn't of any particular interest to Kyrie, the prospect of the book itself is worth a stop anyway. If it happens to be something of use in this world, it doesn't really matter where it comes from.

"Evening, miss." Well, at least it's probably evening. Afternoon? It's so damn hard to tell looking up, but he knows exactly how long they've been here, and it hasn't been that long... "I take it you went for an unexpected swim as well?"

[Naminé glances up and lays her crayon down, giving him a polite, if startled, smile. It's going to take a while longer for her to get used to so many people being around her, to say nothing of them being kind to her right off the bat. It's really the most remarkable thing...]

Good evening, sir. I did, and I've only just finished drying off.

[She really only has this thin white dress, after all.]

"Is that so?" This poor girl. Kyrie, offer her your jacket, why are you such a selfish ass? It might still be faintly damp on the edges, but at least it's probably warmer than what little she has on.

Alas, no jacket is offered. He does, however, move in closer to lean lightly against whatever it is she's perched herself upon.

"That makes the two of us, then." He pauses, tilting his head subtly to glance down from the corner of his eye at what it is she's drawn. "It's a shame this landscape makes for such a terrible subject, isn't it? With no color to draw the eye, it makes for a terribly boring painting." Crayoning? Sure.

I'm afraid so.

[She follows his gaze down to the drawing, chewing on her lip. The white and black crayons are getting a workout too, in her attempts to add some depth and shading to the piece, but it really looks...depressing.]

Maybe if I use the colors I think should be used? But then, that would defeat the purpose of why I'm drawing it at all.

Her effort to detail is appreciated. If it looks half as depressing as the town feels, she's done a wonderful job.

"What purpose is there, I wonder? It's not as if this is going away."

He shrugs, ducking his head with a small shake.

"If you intend to draw something, then it ought to be something worth drawing. You're only wasting materials on such a scene."
