Event Ten.

Pushed his sister in a well. Mother said, while drawing water, "My, it's hard to raise a daughter." | |
Welcome to Awash's tenth event log, and the intro log for this month, everyone! All new characters have found themselves waking in the well in the middle of the Town. Hopefully they can get a hand out! For more information, please go here! |

Yeah, it's kinda my thing around here...
[That and the Defense Force, but there wasn't any immediate danger.]
... yeah. Sure. Go for it.
no subject
... Is this place a completely separate world from ... you know. Our home worlds?
[ She realizes how it might sound strange to someone who's never experienced that kind of thing. She only recently experienced it herself. ]
I know it probably sounds strange.
no subject
Someone was bound to ask that sooner or later. He just sort of hoped that it wouldn't be him fielding the question. She sounded sad when she asked it, too, and that resonated with him. He was fairly torn up about being yanked away from home at the moment he was, too.]
No, it's uh... it's not strange at all. But yeah, it's somewhere completely different, and... right now there's really not any way to get home. Sorry.
no subject
[ Yes, she's torn up about it ... But she doesn't want to shut down in front of someone she just met. She was also a little tired of being worried over. So, she forces herself to smile. It's not her real smile, not by a long shot, but it would have to do for now. ]
So what kind of food do you cook at your cafe?
no subject
It's kinda just whatever we can get our hands on here. I do mostly Japanese-- ... actually you probably don't know what that is. Different worlds an' all that.
no subject
Jappa-knees?
[ You're right, she doesn't know. ]
I wonder if your native cuisine is similar to anything my world has?
no subject
[You were close, though.]
Maybe? Uh, here.
[He dug in to the bag again, pulling out a warm container. It was filled with steamed white rice and some lightly fried fish and vegetables.]
Try this.
no subject
Oh! Yes, this looks very similar to some of the food back home. It looks delicious, too ...
[ Between everything happening she wasn't all too hungry yet, but she did notice something different about what she held in her hands. ]
....
[ Cue some very confused squinting. ]
no subject
[It couldn't have! He just prepared that entire batch this morning! Why is she making that face?!]
no subject
[ She looks up at him. ]
It looks different from everything else here.
[ The fact that the world seemed to be almost completely devoid of color was not something she had really thought about until presented with the food, which had color. She was so busy trying to figure out what was going on to begin with that she hadn't really taken notice. ]
no subject
[Okay, he gets it!]
Right! That's... at least part of the reason we're here. We've been slowly gettin' color back. It was completely black and white when I got here. It's actually kinda cool how it's been comin' back in pieces. But uh. Avoid food that don't got color, okay? It's awful.
no subject
That's ... actually kind of interesting.
[ It's nice to know there was some purpose for being brought here. Obviously she wouldn't have been brought here unless she was needed, right? ]
How have people been getting color back? What have they been doing?
[ HOW CAN SHE HELP?! ]
no subject
But maybe still better than no color at all.]
Uh... well, might sound crazy but... quests?
no subject
[ It seemed like something she had been doing back home, going from one objective to the next. ]
Besides, if I can't get home for a while, I may as well do what I can to help out here.
[ It would help keep her from thinking too much about what she couldn't control, too. ]
no subject
[He motioned to the food he'd handed her again.]
G'on and eat, though. Probably a good idea to get your strength back after dealin' with the well.
no subject
[ She beamed at him, a real smile this time. She'd have time to really think about the situation later, she supposed, but for now she was happy to know there was at least a reason she was here. She began to eat the food offered to her. ]
Oh, wow ... You're really talented.
no subject
[Rin practically beams, grin toothy and showing off his fangs. His tail wags a little, not completely in view behind his back but still somewhat visible.]
I was gonna go deliver the rest to anyone else who might need help at the well before headin' back to my place, but if you're in Bluo I'm pretty easy to find.
[He points at the map pinned to the board.]
The town has three districts, and I think you got a letter sayin' where to go if you wanna find a place to stay.
no subject
[ And that was when she started looking, realizing there was a soaking wet piece of paper sticking out from the bottom of her shorts.
.... Had that always been there?? She quickly took it and gently unfolded it. Sadly, it was pretty drenched. ]
... Oops?
no subject
Are those even shorts?
Seriously what is she wearing? He was trying very hard not to stare but it was harder now that she'd pulled the letter out.]
Uh-- y-yeah, that's it! It should uh. Tell you. ... where to go.
[Fuck.]
no subject
... It's all wet.
[ The letter is. The writing is a bit runny, but she can make out some words? Maybe? She shows him the letter. ]
You might be able to make out what it says better than I do?
no subject
[Well water. Gross. Of course it was wet, though. It wasn't like she had anything waterproof on her person.
He took it carefully, tilting his head a few times while trying to make out the running words. He could barely read on a good day... so this was basically hard mode for him.]
Uh. Well! I see Bluo. That's important.
no subject
[ She'd seen that word on the bulletin board. ]
So, I guess that's ... here?
[ She points at the location labeled 'Bluo' on the map that was on the board. ]
no subject
This is me right here, and the cafe. I just run it outta my kitchen but if you ever want food or to just uh... h-hang out...
no subject
[ Well, food is good. Friendship is good. There does not seem to be a downside to this. ]
I'd like that! Thank you!
[ YAY SHE MADE A FRAND. ]
... But does that mean that I am supposed to go there too?
no subject
Yeah. There's a place to stay there for you. Not gonna be much in it, but a roof over your head and a crappy mattress is better than nothing at all.
