Event Ten.

Little Willie, mean as hell,
Pushed his sister in a well.
Mother said, while drawing water,
"My, it's hard to raise a daughter."

t's pretty dark and miserable down in the well. The cavernous area feels much larger than a well should be, bodies milling about in the darkness and knee deep, frigid water. So you're here -- and you're not alone, and the only way out appears to be the thin circle of sunlight from above, the opening of the well.

(And elsewhere, in the Town, everyone's waking up to gifts of various usefulness, but hopefully they remember to check the well today even so!)

What now?

Welcome to Awash's tenth event log, and the intro log for this month, everyone! All new characters have found themselves waking in the well in the middle of the Town. Hopefully they can get a hand out! For more information, please go here!

Guren is great and amazing, even if he is a bit of an asshole sometimes!

( don't insult his dad!! )

Being an asshole doesn't make him any less of a great person! He's kind and caring and would do anything for his family.

[Hmm, he must be hallucinating... surely he hit his head and that's why spunky girls are asking him to call them goddesses... for sure. He looks at her for a second like he understands maybe half of her words, then:]

I don't have any money, either way!

[ Well, this is coming from a woman who'd pretty much glided off a roof, but she seems nice? Maybe a tad concerning but still nice??

Also she's terrified to be alone, so she's quick to move a little closer to Sierra, not quite latching onto her yet, but.

It's clear she's amenable. ]

[ it does sound like guren, doesn’t it?

of course, guren is vague by necessity about people from his home, and dextera has only heard bits and pieces here and there, but yuu is someone that—ah, even if guren calls him an idiot, he doesn’t mean it at all.

more accurately, he absolutely means it, but only because he cares. ]

Ah?

[ dextera doesn’t want to say all that, though, so he quickly shakes his head in defense of guren. ]

He likes you.

[ After a moment of consideration, she'll just point in the direction of Ruga. Because! She hasn't been around there yet.

Also she appreciates the caution, thank you, Yuu. ]

Make people drugs for what?

( like that's not weird or unusual at all considering the stuff he's put into yuu to help him but also. )

But that definitely sounds like Guren. The defense force? Did he make tiny squads in it, too?

[It was too small! Though that wasn't a valid complaint in her mind. But if someone else was calling the shots...]

I could. But are you going to take responsibility for it?

[Just so people wouldn't scream at her later.]

Doesn't that make things even better? Just tell everyone that I was very helpful and that they're free to come to me for help...

[She's not entirely great at hyping herself up. But at least it doesn't take away from what she can do.

Hopefully.]

Maybe we'll have to stay long enough to see how creepy it is. Or how not creepy.

( shrugging!! and taking a few longer strides off towards it, hands folded behind his head. )

What kind of quests? Are there any right now? What do we get for quests?

I will tell everyone about how helpful you are if you'll find me an ordinary clean bandage, gladly...

[This is where his trust levels are for the time being, unfortunately.]

[Both of his brows rise, but there's only one that can be seen honestly.] A half demon...? [Thank God for, like, fantasy Japanese or whatever.

So almost a demon. Interesting. And... a little worrying. He'd only be the pot calling the kettle black if he tried to criticize--he had done a lot worse when he had been young. Accepting Orochimaru's power, becoming cursed. Hadn't he been something like a demon technically?

This doesn't deter him, it seems. He continues to trail after Yuu without difficulty.]

Who is "we"?

( he likes you. why do you have to point it out so obviously, dex. ain't nobody wants to hear that stuff or talk about feelings. but guren's not here right now to see him talk about feelings so he guesses it's not the worst possible situation ever. this guy's a stranger, but he seems trustworthy. and if guren likes him enough to tell him he likes yuu--that says a lot, too. )

Yeah, I like him too.

( moments before his face scrunches up, brows furrowing. )

But don't tell him I said that.

[Or so she assumes. She glances at his hands and moves forward, but she doesn't lift her foot quite yet. Even if she doesn't have much of a choice but to trust him here, she wants something said before she does.]

I'm going to be really pissed if you drop me. Okay?

[ he waves him off. ] Don't worry about it. It's just shocking! I heard some noises while I was in my room - I thought I was being robbed, for once. I got excited.

Anyway, my name is Giorno. Wait here, I'll put on some pants. [ he glances at the mess he made and makes a face. ] Clean that up, will you? [ and then he leaves again. ]

But you didn't scare them off for good.

[Well that sounds fun (and not even entirely in a sarcastic way). Jotaro peers down into the water again, but even with Star Platinum's enhanced eyesight there's no sign of killer monsters lurking below the surface, so he doesn't bother getting his guard up.]

[ She rises slowly, standing up and releasing her grip on the girl's shoulder to offer her a hand instead. She can turn that down, too, but the offer's there.

The cottage Selina shares with her husband and their roommate isn't far, and she leads her down the dirt path to the front door. She pauses at the door to pull off the dirty boots and set them aside, then goes in to retrieve a couple chairs or a stool for them to sit on. ]

Can I... get you anything? Would you like something to drink? I'm sure there's something to eat in the kitchen. My friend Clark drops by with food a lot.

At this point we don't really have any specific reason as to why we're here. Most of us just stumble into this world accidentally. It probably has nothing to do with ... LA or Caroline.

What's your name? I'm Giorno. I've been here for ... let's say a month. Or a little over that.

[ sierra was already stirring when she felt someone approach, but people sure do love to talk to themselves around her. she shifts at the sound of him wondering if she’s okay, but then—fat?

excuse her? ]

[ it happens in an instant. she drops from the place she’d been sleeping, transforming on the way down so that she lands on her feet, and she tosses a bolt of lightning between both of them to make a point. ]

Watch your mouth, boy.

[Whatever the motivation behind it, a towel is a towel, so Jotaro accepts it and starts cleaning himself up. It wouldn't be so bad if he hadn't stayed down there a few minutes to pretend he wasn't waiting to catch anyone who fell back in, but now he's good and soaked to just below the knee. And these were new pants, too...]

How did you get to bring a suitcase with you? [And who does he have to punch to get his own?]

[ Sorry for waki senses bro. But, when new people are coming in, someone's gotta check if any wander off into places that aren't newbie friendly. It's either a growing sense of feeling responsible for the populace, or curiosity toward the curious people.

He tilts his head and with his near perpetual lineface, how bad that attempt to cover up his intention gets brushed off nicely. ]

The weather is nice, yes. Autumn will come soon if this place follows seasons normally.

[ Honebami hasn't been here long enough to know, it was pretty hot when he first ended up on Chroma. But as of now it's been cloudy and windy with some sunshine, so it feels like the weather is mellowing out nicely. ]

You should be careful if you want to go into the forest alone.

[ --Jion is still bad at sneaking. ]

[ oh no, he’s a lot like guren. dextera covers his mouth even though the laugh is quiet and voiceless, and then he drops away his hand to excitedly sign in response.

he feels better about letting yuu run wild now, but he’s absolutely going to tell guren what yuu said. he’s a tattle-tale. ]

What are you looking for?

Every month, someone posts a bunch of quests in the forums. You get different rewards every time you and a partner, or you and a group of people, complete it to their satisfaction. They can be very silly or very serious.

If nothing else, it's a way to pass the time. There's really not much else to do here. [ a tilt of the head. ] I feel like an old person. I garden, and I have a farm I'm trying to build. I know a guy who decided to run a cafe. Nothing exciting.

[ Kisa's barefoot, after her socks had been very unfortunately soaked in well water. By the time she'd made it further from the well, they'd been totally darkened with mud and dirt.

But she'd taken Selina's hand without complaint, shuffling a little sheepishly to try and make her feet less dirty, and plops down on a chair.

... As her stomach grumbles. Oops. ]

An unwilling one, but you could say that.

[ he thinks of himself as a refugee or prisoner before a resident, but he's been here for half a year; it's not like Sebastian is wrong. He nods his head, offering a hand to Sebastian. ]

[ it’s not a voice dextera recognizes, but it’s unfortunate he can’t sign anything down in response to that question. it’s an important one. ]

[ without another option, dextera just tries dropping one of the old ropes down to the bottom. hopefully it doesn’t break! ]
