t's pretty dark and miserable down in the well. The cavernous area feels much larger than a well should be, bodies milling about in the darkness and knee deep, frigid water. So you're here -- and you're not alone, and the only way out appears to be the thin circle of sunlight from above, the opening of the well. (And elsewhere, in the Town, everyone's waking up to gifts of various usefulness, but hopefully they remember to check the well today even so!) What now? Welcome to Awash's tenth event log, and the intro log for this month, everyone! All new characters have found themselves waking in the well in the middle of the Town. [...he says that right as another white cat scrambles up onto his other shoulder to cling, though this one is decidedly more transparent and less talkative. Ryan winces, but holds still; yes, he hates being stuck in the water, but... they're cats. He just can't bring himself to dislodge either of them, even if it means he's left doing his best impression of a living cat tree.]

Trust me, falling into the water is the last thing I want to do, here-- but I don't know if I can get you out, either.

[ sierra opens one eye to peek at the person who not only is speaking to her… but poked her as well. how rude!

she flutters upright, and then transforms as effortlessly as breathing, tossing her hair back over her shoulder. she yawns, a little indelicate about the whole thing, even if she covers her mouth. ]

[ one hand is placed firmly on her hip, but she yawns again. ]

Well. Mostly we've been doin' the quests that get posted to our shitty internet forum once a month. And we get rewards from that? The going theory is maybe if we do enough we'll bring back all the color and get to go home, or...something.

Prinnies? They work until they've repaid all their sins. Hard labor, acting as soldiers for other demons, servant duties, reconnaissance... Whatever their master asks of them. Once they pay back their sins they can reincarnate to human.

Demons are supposed to scare humans and give them nightmares. These days they're all neglecting their duties in a bid for power. [TSK.] No matter, I'll be reviewing their activities and reassigning them based on performance. [Why does he sound like a business man]

[Even after making her way out of the well, Natalie is fairly wary of everything around her. That means that she's glancing around often, and as such, it isn't difficult for her to notice the younger girl hiding behind a tree.

For a few moments, she debates whether to say anything or not, but—]

( hands open and out, he gestures in the direction of the forest. )

Have you spent a lot of time out there yet?

Okay! For some reason, I sort of feel like there might be something interesting in this direction...!

In fact, his height is probably the only thing stopping Sadie from transforming into a bird and just flying out of there, because she's too busy standing knee-deep in the water and outright staring at the walking, talking fish-man.

...oh, and he's actually talking to her.]

A mage guild! It's a group of people who live and work together, more or less...family, you know? And we complete quests for customers.

[ He probably should be more concerned about a woman perched atop a cottage and tossing such an imperious question at him, but he’s not the least bit bothered by it. ]

[The crawling, electric energy swooping in to tickle Sasuke along the spine and shoulders makes him turn his head to acknowledge Guren out of the habit of combat.

He doesn't move; in fact, he does little else than curl the shuriken into the palm of his hand, but his attention is attuned to one man completely.

Sasuke can't see Mahiru like Guren can, but the rinnegan standing out under the blowing hair shows him a kind of collective generalization of the power. It's strong, and it's dangerous, as far as he can tell. It feels a lot like kinjutsu. Something forbidden. Interesting.]

It's the best place to see most of the town.

[After a moment, when he feels as if Guren isn't an immediate danger, he glances back out. Sad dad club. They match a little: Sasuke has a sword, too, pushed to his backside and only the end of it visible beneath the wavering cloak.]

Look, this place is a loot different than back home, ( yuu no, everything's a disaster back there too don't lie. ) and I was wandering around, checking stuff out, then forgot what direction I came from. It's not that weird!

[His ears prick up.] Another vampire demon? It's possible.

[...well. Sadie was going to just turn into a bird and fly out of here, but Ryan's panicking is ... actually sort of funny? She refrains from outright laughing at him, at least, but she does sort of walk around him in a circle as she looks him over.

The water from the harbor is colorless, and doesn't taste good.

[ fortunately everyone in awash is sufficiently anime enough in some capacity that well-hopping is not that much trouble, hopefully, and aigis is looming around the entrance to ensure that everyone is out safely.

whether you're curled up in the fetal position after the ordeal, shivering to death after being horribly soaked, or being incredibly calm, there is a girl (who seems rather odd, really) quietly standing off to the side. until she asks, gently: ]

[ it's a bit difficult to find yourself in a new, colorless place when you're a robot who's practically lived their entire life under the guidance of... well, something or someone. to say she's overwhelmed is an understatement--by this, and by many things--but there's no good in being idle.

so, she moves. and she's approaching anyone who seems like they're mildly comfortable in their skin or surroundings, offering the following little tidbit: ]

Hello. I am a, um... [ it just comes out naturally, so: ] Transfer student. My name is Aigis. Is it all right if I ask you some questions?

[ she doesn't want to scare the locals, guess who didn't get the jamjar memo. ]

[ it's in the middle of her exploring that aigis ends up at the harbor, standing to face the... water? with a rather neutral expression on her face. it crosses her mind to dunk her hand in just to check if it's even real, but... you know what, dark creepy water doesn't seem all that inviting!

she doesn't. yet if she does hear someone approach, she'll simply say the following: ]

I'd always found the water calming... But it seems almost ominous now, doesn't it?
