Little Willie, mean as hell, Pushed his sister in a well. Mother said, while drawing water, "My, it's hard to raise a daughter."

t's pretty dark and miserable down in the well. The cavernous area feels much larger than a well should be, bodies milling about in the darkness and knee deep, frigid water. So you're here -- and you're not alone, and the only way out appears to be the thin circle of sunlight from above, the opening of the well. (And elsewhere, in the Town, everyone's waking up to gifts of various usefulness, but hopefully they remember to check the well today even so!) What now? Welcome to Awash's tenth event log, and the intro log for this month, everyone! All new characters have found themselves waking in the well in the middle of the Town. The water from the harbor is colorless, and doesn't taste good.

I have my doubts that the one in the well tastes better. Is there no other source of water in this town?

You might be able to find a brook or stream that has fresh running water in it.
Be careful wandering around in the woods, though. Bad things happen there.

That's too vague. What kind of bad things?

The first time I went in I lost my ability to feel sorrow, and one of my friends lost his ability to feel anything.
Some people died fighting the boogeyman that came out of there.
Things like that.

It sounds as if that forest is alive, in a way.
Perhaps it's only protecting itself.

It might be working. I stay out of it unless a quest tells us to go in.

A quest? And are there incentives to these "quests"?

[theshowsover]

Usually we get rewards, but we don't always know what the rewards are until after.

[And some of them are pretty useless.]

And yet you are still doing these tasks without guarantee or assurance of any incentive? Without question?

Usually there's more benefit than harm, especially in the form of colors returning.

Most importantly, things that lack color taste awful. So getting food color back is always a plus.

What? Then has the color of coffee been returned in this world?

[ this is important!!! ]

Yeah. As of last month, we're pretty sure.

[It's possible it could have been restored before that, but everyone got food at their house that newly had color, including coffee, so he put two and two together.]

You mentioned you have a siphon. Do you have a grinder as well?

I have a hand grinder.

Are these devices something you can acquire here easily?

I haven't found much, but you could always search.
Awhile back, portals opened to our home worlds. They were pretty limited, but I was able to take the siphons and grinder from my guardian's cafe.
