t's pretty dark and miserable down in the well. The cavernous area feels much larger than a well should be, bodies milling about in the darkness and knee deep, frigid water. So you're here -- and you're not alone, and the only way out appears to be the thin circle of sunlight from above, the opening of the well. (And elsewhere, in the Town, everyone's waking up to gifts of various usefulness, but hopefully they remember to check the well today even so!) What now? Welcome to Awash's tenth event log, and the intro log for this month, everyone! All new characters have found themselves waking in the well in the middle of the Town. I've seen some of the animals, actually. [Hmm. Well, because he's a reasonable individual unlike literally everyone else in town, guys, he's not hard to convince that foresting alone is a bad idea.]

( tmw you find out your dad mentor has been here since forever and already has a very, very interestingly colored house. yuu hasn't figured out where his own place is yet, so instead he decides his next course of action should be to go fishing through everything in this house to find the laptop he apparently needs.

and no place is sacred. every drawer he comes across and isn't immediately shooed off from is searched through, and when there's no success in that house? he starts going through other close buildings.

there's probably an easier method to this (ie, listening to his heart) but this is clearly much more effort and therefore, the best way. )

[Mogget follows right along, but just imagine that there's a tiny little raincloud hanging right above his head? Because that is honestly how he feels... until he hears that question. That actually causes him to hack a laugh.]

- anyway giorno was tending to his garden, dutifully weeding them as any normal person would, when he gets some irate person approach him. giorno turns around and frowns as he looks at the tall man crowding his way. he's not anyone he recognizes.

now he's just confused. because he also knows that at some level he should know him. but he doesn't, and yet here they are, and the other question that is threatening to spill out of him is: are you a stand user?

if they're meeting like this he probably is. is he threat? ah, well. that remains to be seen. giorno purses his lips as he glares at him, and exerts enough will in him not to call out his stand. ]

[There's a moment of hesitation, there-- does this guy actually know? He wouldn't be the first to be unaware-- but only a moment, because unfortunately the thought that well, he really should find out if so wins out over being a little more tactful.]

[Another rush of bats and Val is standing as himself again. He doesn't seem any more or less worn out than he was a moment ago. Well, he only transformed, no attacks had to happen.]

It's not supposed to be attractive- that would defeat the purpose of my existence as a demon... Though scaring humans hasn't been my job for centuries.

[Okuni has a piece of paper in her hand with every intention of tacking it on that board, but then she looks down and sees Mogget talking to her -- and immediately forgets what she was doing.]

Are you some kind of demon cat? [YOU'RE TALKING, MOGGET!!! Anyway, she crouches down to get a better look at him.] Or did the town turn you into one for failing a quest?

You came from the well. [ Obviously. ] Did you come alone, or do you have some kind of... companion here with you?

There are a few cats that came along with some of the other residents, a few that just sort of appeared after we arrived, and a few other domesticated animals, too. We have a cat at home that belongs to my kid, but uh, again... no talking cats.

[ sierra leans forward, resting her chin in her hand as she gazes down at the newcomer. it does fit in an ironic way, considering the dull grey cast of most of the town, but at least she and all the other people still have their color. ]

Are you the founder of this village?

[When she comes up, his right hand comes down against the lifted right knee. The glinting has stopped, and something dark and iron is folded into the gloved palm of his hand. By the edges, it looks like a shuriken.]

[And since it's Val, what he really means is that he will. Being stuck in the bottom of a well isn't something he'd wish on most of his enemies.

It only takes him a moment to the back to the bottom of the well.]

Would it be better to bow instead? Is there a specific way people greet each other where you're from?

Something terrible can also be beautiful at the same time. People can hold terror and beauty both in reverence, and I'd argue that one makes a more lasting impression in the latter case than just being unattractive.

That being said I suppose you it has its own rugged appeal, somewhere.

[So for a moment it's just Valvatorez is his humanoid form, the next moment it's just a swarm of bats grabbing at Ryan's clothes and whatever they can happen to grab onto.

It doesn't take him long to get both of them to the top of the well. Just like that he's back to juts being Val instead of a bunch of bats.]

[She says this half-judging, half-hopeful like she's really hoping a bear comes out and does just that... that would be... exciting]
