t's a dark night, and the sounds of feet in the darkness are further dampened and hidden by even more magic, as they are lured away by the soft sounds of dreams that are too good to be true, leaving the Town much, much emptier than when it began. On one side, an island, and a ticking clock to a gruesome death. On the other, the slow realization that those bonds everyone has been forging might mean much, much more than they first thought. [ Maya has only seen him like this once before, and hadn't really caught a glimpse of him while she was fighting, but upon seeing him approach now, this very tired soul lights up with a smile.

And a bloody leg, but that's fine. ]

Ruva!! Hey, long time, no see!

I'm glad to see you're well, Miss Maya.

... Mostly well?

[scooptimistic]

I'm definitely well! Just a scratch.

[ Literally a scratch. Just. From a Siren, so it's not the prettiest-looking gash she's sporting. ]

[ditherer]

It looks like a bit more than just a scratch... Would you like for me to take care of that?

[scooptimistic]

If you're feeling up to it!

[ She won't protest. ]

[ditherer]

[time to be a helpful samaritan! which, really, is why he's here.

so, he kneels down, before placing his hand over her wound—and after a few moments, presto! the injury is gone, as if it never happened.]

Are your own abilities sealed at the moment, Miss Maya?

... Not entirely. Or if there's a seal, it's more like a dampener? [ As she nods her gratitude-- ]

I can use my Persona, but it seems to take a lot out of me, and I have to try harder to summon her.

[ditherer]

[he stands up.]

... Well, best not to exert yourself. I'm sure you've been through a lot these past few days.

[scooptimistic]

Just minor starvation, exhaustion, and trying not to get eaten! There are some blank spots in my memory, too.

-- But enough about me, how are you?

[ditherer]

... That's concerning, Miss Maya.

Well enough. Others seem to be doing poorly, but I've managed. We tried looking in the forest for all of you, but other than that, not much has happened.

[scooptimistic]

[ Maya simply shrugs, as if to say that she's been dealing with it well enough-- which is entirely true. She can't really blame them for looking in the forest, too. Getting pulled to an island might not leave too many clues. ]

Wait... "doing poorly"? Beyond just being worried?

[ditherer]

It seems like everyone's been feeling ill since you vanished. It was a rather uncomfortable boat ride for most on the way here.

[scooptimistic]

Ill?? What--

[ Why? What did that even mean? ]

... Are our interactions... impacting more than just the color of the town? You said you're managing, though...

[ditherer]

Well, I do feel a little dizzy now and then—but the others apparently have it much worse.

[scooptimistic]

Maybe because you're a newer arrival... well, I can't say there's a reason behind it without asking around more.

[ Maya, maybe save that for when you're not looking like you're close to passing out on your feet. ]

[ditherer]

... I know you're the curious sort, Miss Maya, but perhaps rest your brain for now?

[scooptimistic]

... Probably, huh? There's no use pondering it just yet.

[ she says this a little sadly. ]

[ditherer]

It's almost over. Just rest for now—I'm sure we'll be heading back soon.

How do you feel about piggybacks?

[ Maya no. ]

... Possibly.

[ She's. A bit wobbly. ]

Unfortunately, when they kidnapped us, they didn't really give us time to put on things like boots, regular clothing, or weapons so we had to improvise.

[ She misses her bed. ]

Of course, if piggybacking's too embarrassing, leaning on you is just fine too!

No, piggybacking is fine. You deserve the rest.
