QUEST 21 - SHOUTO

[ooc: Info here!]

[Somehow Shouto became a default for doing stupid and questionable things in the town. It's not that John minds so much, but simultaneously he's begining to wonder why, exactly, the quests are getting more and more vague.

It's why he waits for Shouto at the edge of the woods, lifting a hand in greeting when the other boy shows up.]

So what do you think "the pit" is?

[glaciers]

[The more stupid and questionable the more likely Shouto will get roped into it one way or another. So here he is, waving back to John before peering into the woods.]

An actual pit.

[This is not the first time he's been pulled into this particular quest.]

[windeity]

[What a good time to venture further into the woods...]

And what's in the actual pit?

[glaciers]

[As soon as they both take a step into it- they're falling into the pit. At least this time he's prepared enough to make a tall ice pillar to catch himself on.]

It's us!

[windeity]

[Thank god for flight because it kicks in as John registers falling and he catches himself in the air. He's bewildered and he looks around suddenly before facing Shouto again.]

Okay. I am going to ask a really easy and really stupid question. Why are we in the pit? Shouto, what's this quest about?

[glaciers]

[Shouto's pretty casually standing on his ice pillar like there's nothing wrong.

Despite the fact there's definitely a bunch of faeries and other assorted creatures cheering them on.]

Fighting.

[windeity]

[Thanks Shouto. There's a few moments as John starts to register what Shouto's implying. The cheering makes it clear and he's hovering about the same height as the pillar which gives him a bird's eye view of the whole pit and the creatures in the stands.]

What, like Gladiator? [Wait hang on.] Against each other?

[glaciers]

[So they're just standing and floating here as the crowd cheers them on! VIOLENCE VIOLENCE VIOLENCE... or something like that. It's hard to make out words from this height.]

We don't have to kill each other. One of us just has to go unconscious.

[It's a little better, isn't it?]

[windeity]

[What if he ignores ALL OF THEM...]

Because that's so much easier. [Ugh.] I mean, I have a hammer. I could definitely knock you out and we could get this over with?

[He'll discover he doesn't have weapons in about five seconds, but let him dream.]

[glaciers]

[Even if he ignores them, they're still cheering. Maybe this is all the entertainment they've got in the woods?

That's too sad to think about.]

It's not that hard to knock somebody unconscious. [He's right but he shouldn't say it.]

[windeity]

Have you knocked a lot of people unconscious or what? [Shouto he has. So many concerns???] Whatever, we'll just get this over with. Hold still.

[He holds out a hand to wait for Vrillyhoo to drop from his sylladex. But nothing happens. He tries again and nothing happens, leaving John to gape at the vacant space between the sky and his hand.]

Where the fuck--?

[glaciers]

It's the fastest way to make sure somebody doesn't cause any more trouble. [John can probably bet it was a school lesson. How to subdue villains.

Also that totally didn't answer the question.]

Are you waiting for something?

[windeity]

[FFS SHOUTO. He doesn't reply but he looks at the sky like it has betrayed him.]

My hammer. Usually it drops straight out of my sylladex but nothing is happening.

[glaciers]

I think that's how this place works. No weapons it's just powers and fists.

[windeity]

Fine. [He's a little annoyed, but fine.] It'll be just like our spar last time. Are you ready? [There's a little ripple of a breeze running through the pit.] Powers and fists.

[glaciers]

[Their spar last time didn't end in anybody being knocked out... Not that he says that.]

Ready when you are.

[windeity]

[He doesn't reply and instead summons a large gust of wind, sharp and funneling to try and throw Shouto off of his ice pillar.]

[glaciers]

[Shouto, on reflex, makes a large wall of ice behind him to stop him from falling straight into the pit. At the same time he shoots some ice John's way.]

[windeity]

[He's using the wind to fling back some of the ice in shards, flying up higher to create an even bigger cyclone to try and trap Shouto and his ice pillars. If he can encase them in the center it'll be easier to knock him off.]

[glaciers]

[His options are either get stuck up here or jump off the ice pillar. So he jumps off the ice pillar, wind be damned.

While he does manage to get down from there, the cyclone has definitely done some damage.]

[windeity]

[He uses the wind to break some of the ice pillar into pieces, other hand moving to attempt to pummel Shouto with these ice pieces. He has the advantage of flying and being able to send an aerial attack, but he's also doing his best to try and not actually kill him. That would be bad.

The crowd cheers louder though when Shouto's down on the ground. It's something else John ignores as he attempts to pick Shouto up again with a gust of wind.]

[glaciers]

[At least he's prepared for the ice shards, lighting up his left side to melt the pieces before they actually manage to land. As uninjured as he is from that, with the wind blowing his flames only swell larger and more out of control.

As the gust of wind hits him, the fire gets wrapped up in the wind endangering the viewers.]

[windeity]

[A column of fire? He can work with that. He doesn't want to burn him either but he's hoping that taking the funnel of flames will mean he can push Shouto back and away, catch him off-guard and throw him into the stands to knock him off-guard. The fire's under his control as the wind picks up speed, moving faster and faster as he flies forward...

...and swings with a fist.]

QUEST 22 - JAKE AND DAVE

[ooc: Info here!]

[It's easy to default to the one yellow he knows pretty well, and while he likes Izuku very much he figures this is actually an even better chance for family bonding. Or whatever the fuck it is. John and Dave had talked about this and about getting to know their alpha counterparts and while John likes Jake he does feel maybe spending more time with him could only help their chances at being better friends.

Plus Jake lived on an island his whole life, if anyone knew how to build a boat it'd be him. As such, he contacts both Dave and Jake to meet him at the harbor so they can figure out this boat thing and it's hard to hide the fact he's kind of excited.]

Building a boat can't be that hard, can it? It's just making sure it floats.

You're in charge of any hammering.

[ dave doesn't voice that he's pretty sure left to their own devices he and john would fail miserably at making a boat. jake reminds him of jade a lot of the time and she tended to know how to do advdenture bullshit.

and, well, hey. they can all fly so they won't drown if they fuck it up that badly. ]

I ain't about to do it.
