he Town is quiet this week. No sudden quests on the forum post, no roars of werewolves in the distance... just peaceful, peaceful quiet. Of course, it's hot as hell right now, but that aside, it's pretty pleasant. You probably don't want to wander around the Town right now, but... Naturally, now's when the Town is going to start thoroughly encouraging you to do just that. You do want to find your doorway back home, don't you? Better get searching! [Guren is, of course, not too worried about Damian's threats, and literally waves him off as he walks further into the place. Not when he can look at the weirdest cave he's ever been in. Is that a dinosaur? A bunch of ridiculous things, actually, and a large computer screen that looks like it might have some interesting things on it...

Too bad it's useless when he walks up to it and taps a few buttons.]

Huh. This is a little too advanced to be some kid's secret hideout. Is this your father's? [He has no idea about Bruce's hobbies...]

[He's quick to correct her on that.] The way it works involves too much beneath the town itself, so it'd be useless to take it anywhere else. [He won't even go over the dead cell phone he has in his room back in the town, either.]

You're one of the ones from the most recent batch of arrivals, right? What's your name?

"Let's go back downstairs, then." He heads for the same stairwell. "You know, there should be some carts to move equipment around. Maybe we can use one of those to carry more."

Every day, it becomes harder and harder to justify my actions. I can't seem to remember why I made certain choices, and now we're at the cusp of a global war tipped in the demons' favor.

[ He doesn't miss the way Akira mentions doing it only for his friends, and while that might have been just a casual choice of words and not an extension to include him in that group, Akechi can't help but grip the mug a little tighter between his fingers, without even realizing it. Like he's clinging to the possibility, too. ]

That's... silly. It's perfectly edible.

[ ... although anything that isn't burned to a crisp or hasn't gone bad could technically be called edible, so this isn't much of a compliment, either. Okay, maybe he should go for a new approach.

He reaches for the mug again, blows on it to give himself a little more time to prepare and goes for a second sip-- and this time he manages to keep a perfectly neutral expression throughout most of it. Except for the very end.

He's smiling. ]

I think I rather like it. Perhaps it's an acquired taste?

[She lets go of the tent’s fabric, putting on her best innocent look.]

[ Hasebe is a reasonable, responsible sword. He just likes the sound of his own voice yelling more than he would admit. But yes, he could spare some herbs and crops. ]

Yes... It's so quiet. I almost expect a voice besides ours to come out of nowhere.

[ Time to embrace his inner Namazuo and raid the garden... kind of! Some of the herbs can be dried and helps with the bland food! They... could learn cooking, later. For now, Honebami is gathering a nice bundle just as Mutsu is interrupted in his development into shonen doggo. ]

...Konnosuke shouldn't run so recklessly? Or be that dirty.

[ It's... likely not, and more tanuki-shaped. The greens it dove into rustle though, the sound clear in this expanse of field. ]

[She immediately feels a desire to take it back with them anyway. Okuni's just like that!!! Maybe he'd let her dismantle it... Though judging from the size of his world, there's probably a lot of things far more useful to take back......... But she could hang the cord on a tree and hit people with both ends!!! Fun!!

Okuni was eyeing the telephone, but she looks back at Guren at his questions]

Eh... You're asking for my name without even introducing yourself first? Is that normal behavior for you, or did you learn it while you were here?

[Huh... that is a much faster head turn than she’s expect. Fast enough that it’s more on par with Yuuri’s ninja... She tucks that bit of information away for another day as she smiles at him.]

[He almost laughs at that high praise; perfectly edible means he didn't make poison, that's all. But as Akechi drinks more (keeping an enviable poker face), Akira can't help but wait for the verdict.

And then Akechi smiles, and Akira feels a knot he didn't even know was there untangle in his chest.]

You don't have to lie. [But he's smiling now, too, and doesn't make any move to take the cup from Akechi.] But if you want to drink it, I'm happy to make more.

[Maybe he'll put even more love in it, the next time.]

[ Is that not obvious? Then again, the thing they use to travel time looks like a clock, so he's used to the round face and hands. ]

[ Dex can join the group of "she doesn't come off that way at first" people she's met, honestly. But unlike those other people, they were complete and utter assholes, and at least he seems genuinely apologetic. Or maybe that's just the fear? It's hard to tell sometimes, but she'll drop it for now. If just because he is providing a nice rain cloud, so can she really be too mean?

...Yes, probably, but that's not the point. ]

Don't do it again, and I'll consider your apology. [ She shifts herself so she's no longer leaning over Dex, and instead just taking a seat within the rain-radius. ] Is this an ability of yours, anyway? [ Making rainclouds seems... really useless outside of this exact circumstance, but... maybe it was just weather control or something? That would be neat. ]

No, I guess not. [Though she is still interested in clothes from other worlds she also still needs them to be cute.]

What kind of boutique? [Even as she’s asking she’s already looking like she’ll follow if Yosano leads because yay for (what she assumes is) free clothes.]

[Akira freezes for a moment, then turns a bit so he's not looking Guren directly in the face. There's a shrug, noncommittal. Seems Akira has suddenly gone full delinquent.]

Yeah! [Very few are the girls Kaoru doesn't think is a beauty or cute.] Why can't Sakaki-sensei be a woman? Then going to do our usual check ups would be so much better!

...do you think this one is yours? [She means the pocket dimension. Because in their house it was Kaoru's clothes which were the most clear and she was sure she couldn't remember Skaki's office in this much detail.]

[One part of her kind of just wants to do a sweeping gesture and welcome him to BABEL. But that’s not really her job, it’s Kaoru’s. So she gives him a smile instead at that cheesy thumbs up before she waves towards the gates separating what is the “public” section and the “private” section.]

You might have to jump the gates a bit. [Or a lot, no one is going to stop him anyway though but all she has to do is give a wave of her ring over the sensor before they open for her.]

We’ll go through... some of the... places that aren’t really open to the public first, I guess? We’ll get to the cafeteria last. [So they’d have something easy to end this tour on. Shiho takes a breath, steadying herself.]
