Event Two.
![]() | |
Old age will come and it's not kind. And when you go, as go you must, You yourself will make more dust!
They only have a bit of time to try to figure out what, exactly, it wants from them -- and then things begin to happen. Welcome to Awash's first event log, everyone! Further information on this event can be found here at the OOC post.

t hasn’t been long since you’ve arrived. The dust has settled, so to speak. And there is… a lot of dust. The town is in disrepair. Some efforts have gone into making it a bit better, but it’s going to be a lot of work, there’s no denying that. There are only a few livable buildings right now, and even those are prone to letting the rain in, or missing stairs to the clearly present second floor, floors crumbling or creaking.

Still, it's unpleasant to listen to. Better off for Minato that he can't hear this.
Ouni closes his eyes. He doubts he'll fall asleep, but maybe pretending as if he can will help him ignore the voices, and the words not meant for him.]
no subject
Still, Minato remains quiet, snoozing away for a bit--until a stiffer breeze blows through, and then he sits up blearily, rubbing his arms.
Blergh.
He's still half-asleep, give him a moment, Ouni.]

no subject
Ah... they're still talking.
[Wow.
... He looks up. And blinks...]
... Ouni-san?
no subject
Took you long enough. Someone could've come along and killed you in your sleep.
no subject
I guess I'm lucky it was you who found me instead, then...?
no subject
no subject
But you didn't, so it's fine.
[Honestly...]
Is that something that was on your mind, though...?
no subject
no subject
[???]
I really don't know, honestly. I kind of hope there isn't a point to doing that.
no subject
as far as people back home are concerned there'd be a lot of merit in killing ouni, on the other hand, so you never know??]
Yeah. You're probably too pathetic for it to mean anything.
[He doesn't even mean that in a particular mean fashion?? Just that, you know. Minato's kind of... Minato.]
no subject
That's...
[Wow.]
I don't really know if there's a point to killing anyone, really--there's no good reason for it, anyway.
no subject
Ouni just kind of scoffs but doesn't say anything—but really, pffft.]
no subject
Ouni-san... what do you mean by that?
no subject
... I mean you're an idiot.
no subject
Well.
He won't argue it.]
... Maybe that's true.
But I still don't see...why anyone should be killed for any reason.
no subject
no subject
Ouni-san... are you referring to...
[... yourself?]
no subject
no subject
Especially with the things Ouni has said before. About being surrounded by enemies... about probably not having anyone he'd consider a friend dragged here with him...
...Hm.]
Your life, too. No matter what anyone's said, or tried to do... your life is precious too, Ouni-san.
no subject
He just lets out a quiet heh.]
Doesn't matter. I'll deal with anyone who suggests otherwise.
[And by "deal" he means "probably murder", but. Anyway, it's easier to be ruthless than it is to talk about feelings.]
no subject
... Have you had to do that before?
no subject
no subject
[Firmly, and simply.
He wouldn't have asked otherwise!]
no subject
And if I told you that I've killed people—and that I'll do it again?
