t hasn’t been long since you’ve arrived. The dust has settled, so to speak. And there is… a lot of dust. The town is in disrepair. Some efforts have gone into making it a bit better, but it’s going to be a lot of work, there’s no denying that. There are only a few livable buildings right now, and even those are prone to letting the rain in, or missing stairs to the clearly present second floor, floors crumbling or creaking. So it is that after a week or so to get used to their new living quarters.... There’s finally activity on the forum. Activity that doesn’t come from any of the people living here. There’s a stickied forum post, and in it, a single post, from a user FFFFFF: All-endearing cleanliness, Virtue next to godliness, Easiest, cheapest, needfull’st duty, To the body health and beauty; Who that’s human would refuse it, When a little water does it? Requirements: Everyone They only have a bit of time to try to figure out what, exactly, it wants from them -- and then things begin to happen. Welcome to Awash's first event log, everyone! [That doesn't get at things deeply enough for him. That's not enough explanation. not enough reason for taking a life, but Ouni doesn't seem like the sort who would kill someone for no good reason--]

Why... how were they your enemy? What were they doing?

[In part because he doesn't feel like explaining his circumstances to Minato, and in part because he genuinely doesn't know. Why the world has to treat the Mud Whale it does, why his existence is such taboo—

All he wants is to protect those he cares about, and he'll fight the entire world if he has to.]

[... That's such a sad answer. Whether Ouni's being sincere or not, it's a sad answer to not know why someone's your enemy--why they would hate you that much.

Minato's no fool. Pacifist that he is, he knows that people die. That people are killed by other people, for so many reasons.

Trying to understand Ouni's reasons...is something he'd like to do.]

... I don't feel like... you're the sort of person who would kill other people for fun... or for no reason. That's what I believe.

[So there must have been a good reason--and if they were his enemies, well...
