[She nods, then she picks up Pyra with her powers, making her float up and over the water before just...letting her go.
Look, if Pyra were a guy she'd probably just spike her into the water but you should be gentle and kind with girls!
That won't stop her from naming this action though.]
Psychic We Better Get Something Good For This!

Well okay, she's just going to roll with it after her initial surprise, nodding right before Pyra is dumped into the water with a splash.
She pops back up a moment later, running a hand through her hair as she swims back to the dock. ]
Kaoru... I didn't know you could do that!
no subject
It was a lot more complicated here where some people knew and some people didn't and the only difference between the two groups was simply, 'there hadn't been a need to use my powers around them yet'. Which made it harder to remember especially since...so many people now knew.
So she'd forgotten that she hadn't shown Pyra this power. All she has to say for herself?]
...oops. [She reaches out with a sheepish smile to help Pyra up.] Guess I forgot you hadn't seen me do that.

Once she's finally placed both feet upon the pier, she brings up her hands to begin trying to wring the water from her hair. ] Not at all! I knew you were strong-- [ From how she totally owned those two ice-guard knights at the castle all those months ago. ] But with that just now, I was just surprised.
Magic? Telekinesis? Or did you use an object?
no subject
We call it psychokinesis where I'm from. I'm what's known as an esper.
[Also, she's taking off the cape part of her uniform and draping it over Pyra's shoulders. For a piece of cloth it's surprisingly really warm! Mostly because her uniform has built in temperature regulating technology.]
no subject
....I'm starting to think that what you did just now is just a sliver of what all you can do. [ Pyra chuckles. Wow, the abilities of some people here are-- truly incredible. ]
no subject
She winks.]
A girl's got to have some secrets~. [But she'll take Pyra's hand.] Do you want to go to the onsen or just find some towels to dry off? [As the person who threw Pyra into the harbour she's decided it's her responsibility to take care of her afterwards.]
no subject
It would be nice to go with someone.
[ They can have girl talk!! And gossip!!
Anyways, Pyra is ready to head out when Kaoru is. She adds jokingly: ] So long as you don't toss me into the baths like you did just now.
no subject
[It'll be a great bonding experience! The ultimate sign of friendship! She'll start walking with her, hand-in-hand. She grins.]
Don't worry! I don't make it a habit to throw cute girls into the bath...it's not proper onsen ettiquette after all.

[ FAST TRAVEL GOOOO!!
After removing and and storing her clothes— headband, gloves, and all—she’ll be washing up first of course (for who knows what sort of strange substances are floating around in that lake, and even just using a basin and warm water to cleanse herself feels that much better. She’ll grab a towel to move from the adjacent washing room to the baths themselves, only slipping it off once she dips into the steaming water. ]
Aah, that really helps... [ She sighs, brushing her hair back with her hand.
The crystal upon her chest is still on her body, embedded into it. It glows steadily and undisturbed as usual as Pyra sinks into the bath, indulging in the warmth of the water it provides her body. ]
We have the color of the sky back, but looks like we have to work a little bit more on the lake itself.... Summer is just around the corner. [ A hum. ] What sort of lake would it be if we can’t go swimming in it without being cold for hours afterwards?
[ Maybe Chroma will even grant them swimsuits. ]
no subject
She pulls her hair up so it's not dangling in the water as she gets in with a happy sigh.]
It'll probably involve another one of those quests like the one that brought back the sun and writing. [She let out a wistful sigh.] I really want a beach scene with girls in cute swimsuits. The kind with splashing water that makes everything look all glittery while girls go kyaaa... [It'd be so amazing.
The crystal definitely gets a curious look. She hadn't really paid enough attention to realize it hadn't just been...attached to her clothes. (It occurred to her in a distant sort of way, that back when she was 10 she would have known if only because of her terrible habit of groping every girl she met like an old pervert.)
Then again, Kaoru was still wearing her Limiter as well. Though it was less attached and more because it's waterproof and a necessary safety precaution.]
no subject
Well, I suppose no one likes to be splashed unawares, but on a hot day... [ An indulgent sigh. ] Cool water would have me go “ahh~” instead of “kyaah”.
Especially after a hard day’s work. [ Pyra doesn’t tend to feel cold or hot, (aside from strange Chroma-lake-effects) but she can enjoy a refreshing, relaxing time at the beach. ] This place took us to that ice palace a few months ago, no reason it can bring us to an actual beach and ocean... hopefully colorful.

'Ahh~' is fine too. Any reaction along those lines is fine! [She's so happy to be having this conversation...even Shiho doesn't always indulge her.] Anything a girl might do in response to being splashed would be cute. [Even getting tsun about it or, as Kaoru might do, use a huge wave of water to wash over someone in retaliation.]

But I feel like...if this place sends us to a beautiful beach there will probably be something there that tries to eat us. Like the time the sirens kidnapped people from town.
[No way would this place give them a nice vacation arc.]
no subject
Maybe-- we can make it a project to work towards. Operation: Restore the Beach and Lake before Summer...
Only catchier.
no subject
Hm...how about Operation: Prepare For A Glittering Summer Experience? [She thought about it some more.] Aaaah...you know what else would be great? A summer festival! Summer came and went last year without us noticing but now that I know it's spring I can't help but want one this year...
[But that's pretty impossible...]
no subject
[ She gives her a reassuring, determined smile. (But, hey, even if it doesn't work out... it's still fun to just imagine that they can. ] There used to be summer festivals in the capital where I'm from-- they would decorate the streets with banners and lanterns, there would be bamboo to hang wishes upon, and then there would be games and stalls one could shop with... and after everything was over, there would be fireworks!
I don't think we could pull off something like that, but the... games, the fireworks, and the wish-making. That, we can do.
[ Another pause. ] Did... your world have anything like that?
no subject
Yeah! [She sits up and scoots closer. She's absolutely down with that! And even if they fail, they'd make so many great memories while doing it! She nods along to all of those suggestions because...yes. That sounds exactly like the type of thing she's used to too.]
That's how we celebrate Tanabata! I bet there's someone who could make lanterns somewhere in town! Were you also celebrating the legend of Orihime and Hikoboshi?
no subject
no subject
[Wow this is so amazing!] I wouldn't have guessed we'd have the same festival...and even a similar legend! This is so cool!
no subject
Or, wait. Is it really that surprising? Of course in any world, if people are still their very same selves that like to look up and wonder about the stars, then-- ] It just goes to show you how much everyone enjoys looking up towards the sky... and imagining love stories! [ She laughs. ]
no subject
[It's so strange! She feels like she needs to go tell Izuku about this after!] Hey! What if we also do a play for the festival? So people who don't know this story can learn about it too?
no subject
But also a lot of preparation time. Set pieces, costumes, ...writing an actual script. [ Hm. ] I used to travel with a playwright-- he would be working on his stories for hours into the night!
Difficult, but doable.
Hehe~ Should we have try-outs for the actors? Or should we be the casting directors ourselves? [ AND WHO WOULD THEY CHOOSE TO PLAY THE COWHERD AND THE WEAVER LOVERS?? ]
no subject
[Those were such fond memories! Aaah. Actually, now that she thinks about it, it'd be great if Patty were here. She basically did everything. She wrote the script, designed the costumes and directed while efficiently making use of their entire class to bring her vision to life.]
I know Minato can sew...and Shiho can do anything. [So long as she can read it off someone else who could do it.]
We'd have to figure out how many characters there'd be, right? [But hm.] Being a casting director does seem pretty fun...but we could also act too! Why not play the main characters ourselves? [By that, she obviously means Pyra should be the Weaver and she can be the Cowherd. Since she got drafted to play the male lead too last time.]
no subject
Ah.... [ She smiles apologetically. ] I will... politely pass on taking a part, if I'll be joining you in picking the cast. [ She waves a hand, and then brings that same hand up to her cheek, scratching it. ]
Besides.... I would enjoy seeing everyone else perform. [ She smiles softly. ] I would like to see them shine.
