Food Party

Be it one heard of the feast from the forum, by word of mouth, or just got drawn to the commotion, finding the feast wasn't hard to do. A little house in Ruga had all of the furniture moved outside, sans some tables and chairs-- some probably even from other empty houses to make a little dining area. "Little" being the keyword, but it wasn't like they had restaurant venues to work with. At least there was someplace to sit, right? Assuming it didn't get too popular, of course, there was always the chance of sitting outside. It was a nice day today, after all!

I. Mingle

Looks like it'll be a while before anyone's getting any food, but hey! There sure are people around here to hang out with! Besides, they did mention the chefs could use some company too, right? Or one can decide to be that weird kid at a party that holds their cup of punch in the corner and sips occasionally. Only they didn't have punch-- just water. Sorry, weird kid.

II. Cooking

Welcome to the kitchen! It had a completely different atmosphere here-- tables filled with food that was meant to be chopped or cooked or both. And, of course, the two (for now) diligent cooks working with old stoves. They're open to helping hands, or maybe just a little conversation? How about a bit of influence on what to cook, or maybe being a taste tester? Maybe one might even bring them something else to cook?

III. Feast

While some may argue that this didn't even come close to a feast, it was clear that the most was definitely made from what they had. Could anyone really complain in their situation? Deer meat, apples, potatoes, peppers, water... This may well have been a luxury at this point. Besides, show a little respect for the chefs! They worked hard on this.

[ Bringing up the fact that he's supposed to be sparring with Caramia is bringing up the fact that Guren is holding the threat of taking away coffee, and Fushimi recontemplates his life choices for a long moment, trying to figure out exactly how rude he can get away with being. ]

... I don't like most food.

[ There, that's slightly less outright antagonistic than saying "I trust maybe two people in the entire world and only one of them is in this deteriorating hell-hole", right? It's almost polite, right? ]

So, it did, is what you're telling me. [ Guren's a good dad. You go, Guren. Caramia doesn't even put the spoon down, he's just holding it up like Fushimi will cave at some point if he does. Really, he's just doing himself a favor, since it might've been a little hot to start with. ]

Well, have you eaten? [ ...Well, this conversation sounded familiar. Was he honestly expecting a different outcome? ]

I've eaten. [ Fushimi neglects to say "when" or "where" or "what" he's eaten, exactly, because he actually can't clearly remember the last time Yata forced him to ingest something, but he has eaten. Probably.

Man, he misses caloriemate. ]

It isn't like anything here tastes good.

You're not lying to me, are you? [ Not that he expected Fushimi to tell him if he was, but this was just how he handled these kinds of situations. ]

It does now! Kind of. Some of it. You should at least try something while you're here, right?

I'll try coffee. [ Coffee is food, right? Ignoring that the way he drinks his coffee -- black -- has absolutely no caloric or nutritional value, but, like. Maybe Caramia doesn't know that. Maybe Caramia thinks coffee could pass as a food group. ]

Why would I lie to you? [ Fushimi actually rarely lies, for what it's worth. Mostly because lying is too much trouble.

Unless you count lying about his feelings, but does it count when he's not even actually aware of his own lies? ]

Let me reiterate, try some food. [ Not gonna fly with him, Fushimi. He might not know about computers, but he sure as hell knows about coffee. ]

I don't know, but I figured I should ask anyway. You don't exactly have any reason to tell me the truth, either. [ Besides it being the right thing to do, but Fushimi doesn't exactly act like someone who does something just because it's "the right thing to do". ]

Lying is a hassle. [ Fushimi leans back, a little exasperated; he's not a fan of trying to keep lies straight or deal with the fallout of being caught in a lie. He'll lie about feelings, but that's not the same thing at all, right?

Totally doesn't count. ]

So is eating. [ Actually, eating might be a bigger hassle than lying because his body requires it on a semi-regular basis. Lying he can sidestep 98% of the time. ]
