[ Why is Guren such a liar? Even Yata sees through it, and the bland answer and oddly mechanical way Guren moves just make him uneasy. He steps aside as Guren steps forward. ]

Not back yet. I looked around when I came back to town, but no one's seen him.

[ Yata sounds plenty worried about that, but Guren's who he's focused on right now. ]

There's food. Warm water, too, if you wanna...

[ You know, scrub all that dirt off. ]

[Yata is kind, offering those things that he'll very much need soon enough, but right now, Guren is still too stuck in his own head. Akira is really gone. So his group really is stuck in there. Maybe he should go back? No, that's stupid, he can't—

Tired and feeling like a powerless failure, he turns when he reaches the stairs and falls back to sit on one of the steps, hunching over himself shortly after. His hand is on his forehead.]

What about you, is everything fine?

[ Guren's just... gonna walk past him, then? Alright, Yata can roll with that, if you're okay with assuming that 'roll with that' means 'follow after him like a worried mother'. He doesn't hover, exactly, but he doesn't let Guren just shrug him off, either. ]

We're... [ Fine? Not really... ] There was some invisible ghost trying to tell our fortunes, but she didn't attack us or anything. What happen to you guys?

[ Guren already insisted he was fine, of course, but that doesn't mean Yata is going to just take him at his word. ]

Demons that took on the image of people we knew. They offered us deals and fought if we refused. Two of the demons died, but Akechi gave in to the deal and lost his color and emotions.

[Just, dumping it all out like that.]

[ Demons...? Immediately, Yata's mind drifts towards the vampire-killing sort and his attention drifts towards Mahiru. That... would be bad, if she tried to eat people.

Apparently these are different demons, though, and even though Yata doesn't exactly know Akechi he looks worried all the same. ]

Wait--seriously? [ He sounds pretty shocked, but: ] That witch thing made Ryo give her one of his memories!

Asuka?

[Damn it. He pinches at the bridge of his nose.] That makes Akira not returning even worse. I'll check by the forest again in a few hours, and if he hasn't returned, then maybe by the morning...

[He's like, aging by the word, goodness]

[ Yata nods. He's pretty sure that was his last name, though Yata mostly thinks of him as 'Knife Coat' right now.

Then Guren announces his intention to go back out and Yata frowns. Hmm, that sounds like a bad idea. ]

No, I'll go.

[ He knows just telling him to stay won't work, so he'll settle for the next best thing. ]

You need to sleep. If you try to leave now you'll just trip before you even get there.

[swordfucker]

I've gone longer without sleep. You're not going out there alone, you idiot.

[Only he can do that??? He has Mahiru. Yata doesn't!!] I'm not going to trip.

Then get some sleep and we'll do together.

[ Don't be stubborn, Guren. ]

You sound like Saru right now. You'll trip.

[Sleep. How is he meant to sleep when everyone out there is in danger? Izuku... He told Izuku the risks, the burden he would take, but that still didn't mean he was going to leave him to take it alone. He was going to help whoever he could, as much as he could.

So, he is completely stubborn and pushes himself up from the step on the stairs, using the railing as support.]

I won't stop you from coming with me, but I'm not sleeping right now.
