"I apologize for laughing, but it is a rather interesting question! No, I am not a samurai, but my former master was the samurai and daimyo Honda Tadakatsu. I am merely the tsukumogami of that man's spear."
If she is friends with Midoriya, perhaps she also will understand?

"I...am familiar with that man from history. And of the concept. It's nice to meet you more properly then. Is there a title you prefer, or an honorific?"
She's not sure how to address a centuries old spirit.
no subject
"I am very pleased you understand! Ah, and thank you for asking..." He lifts one hand to the back of his head for a moment, a bit embarrassed to have been asked so directly. "Although I have a title as one of the Three Great Spears of Japan, of course it is too much to say. So please continue to call me Tonbokiri, with whichever honorific suits you best."

She's polite, but even All Might only warrants a -sensei because of he's her teacher. And All Might is...well...he's All Might. The greatest hero of her age.
"I must say I hadn't expected to come across so many Japanese people here. It's...quite odd, don't you think?"
no subject
"But I feel that 'why so many Japanese' and 'why mostly children' are questions that will have to wait in the face of other matters." He makes a slight gesture at the grey-scale world at large, then finishes with the bridle.
As he walks around Mikuniguro looking everything over once more it occurs to him to ask- "So you are Japanese, then?"
no subject
Which makes it more bearable. His other question, though, gets a nod.
"Yes. I'm from Nagoya, in Aichi-ken. I'm not sure if that had a different name in your Master's day, though."
no subject
"Yes! Tokugawa Ieyasu was from that area, as was my former master. It was called Mikawa at that time. Of course, Nagoya was a very strategic location, being between Kyoto and Edo." Stepping closer he happily sets his hands upon her shoulders, patting them heavily.
"The only thing better than finding Japanese people in this place is finding someone from the same region! What fortune!" It's like finding a distant relative while in a foreign land! (At least, he imagines so.)
no subject
"It's good fortune indeed. I'm glad to know. Common threads do make everything that much easier, here especially."
no subject
"Yes!" With one last hearty pat to her shoulders he bows slightly.
"Three times over, if you have need of anything, you have but ask it of me." He would do it anyway, but even more so in return for the saddle, and as a kinsperson. Returning to Mikuniguro he walks around to tighten the girth more securely for riding.
"Would you like to ride Mikuniguro for a while? He is a well-trained war horse, and should not cause you any difficulty. Especially since you are experienced."
no subject
Momo holds up her hand and laughs, not nervous, but also not wanting to take him away from his horse much longer.
"I should probably go back to working on the storehouse organization. Another time, though!"

The less than essentials.
no subject
"Come back for a ride sometime! You are always welcome."
