t seems like just another day in this place. It's chilly, but not miserable, and there's a bit of holiday cheer in the form of a few of those trees people have managed to decorate.
Of course...there's also the shades, but who cares about those?
They wander, drifting too and fro, following their usual, typical lives as if they have no idea that they're not longer alive, no longer in their own proper home. They walk over the frozen lake in Flavo as if it's not even there, open doors that no longer exist, and settle into rooms that are nothing but rubble.
They're living in a past that only they can see, but perhaps you can see a bit more from watching them?
Only... maybe don't spend too much time with them, lest you start seeming too much like a ghost yourself.

[ ... Well. Obviously if it's a kiss and Lupin's talking about it, it's Cairngorm, but Maya had fought the epic battle of trying to get Cairngorm to not kill a spider and has already discussed kissing with said gem and she's wondering how that kissing even went down. ]

The mischief in his expression softens a little, and he smiles, tilting his head at her. ]
You know very well who. Unless you've forgotten what I said already? [ a beat. ] Technically speaking, they kissed me first.
no subject
No, you're right, I know who you're talking about, I'm just kind of at the point where I'm wondering what happened.
[ HOW. ]
no subject
You really are a journalist, aren't you? So nosy. [ Lupin sighs, amused. ] What do you think happened? I swept them off their feet. By the time I told them how I felt, they felt the same. Well, to be honest, I was a little surprised, myself...
[ but he can't keep himself from smiling as he recalls it. It was bittersweet, yes - Cairngorm has a lot of well-founded fears and worries, and they both know this can't last - but more sweet than bitter. ]

That's... congratulations, Lupin! I'm really happy for both of you that it worked out.

[ She's cute. He wasn't keeping it from her because he didn't want her to know or anything like that - he just knows Cairngorm is shy, and would prefer it if it didn't spread around all that much or all that quickly. ]
It's too bad there's not much to do in a place like this. I'd really like to spoil them.
no subject
[ Just. A hunch. ]

[ one gets the sense that he enjoys that challenge, though. ]
There'll probably be a lot of challenges. But I think I can handle it.

[ At least Cairngorm is less resistant than Maya-- and she isn't even going to protest because yeah, Lupin's right, it bounces right off of her. ]
But I'm supporting both of you for sure!
no subject
[ he grins, prideful as ever. ]
Other than that -- well, I've been following some of these ghosts around to see if I can learn anything. There's not much we don't already know, though.

[ he's watched people sitting at desks writing papers for far too many hours, at this point. ]
It looks like people from different districts really didn't like each other back in the day.
no subject
It's a shame.

[ unsurprisingly, Lupin doesn't even sound slightly worried about this possibility. His and Cairngorm's relationship already falls into, like, three categories minimum of "forbidden" without the town's segregation coming into play. ]
Oh, you and I can still be friends, though. That's nice.
no subject
[ Whatever, town!! ]
I think that, even if you got into trouble, you'd still forge ahead with Cairngorm, since that's... just like you.
no subject
[ after hearing a little bit about her home life, his perspective on her has shifted slightly... ]
no subject
[ ... Kind of a lot. Technically. Oops. ]
... Actually, I fought authority a lot.
[ Because!! They were corrupt!!!! But still!! ]
no subject
Did you, now? That's a good girl.

[ he lives for fighting authority, sis!! ]
A good journalist should be butting heads with authorities, anyways - that's what I think.
no subject
I get scolded all the time for doing it, but sometimes it really can't be avoided if you want to get the truth!

[ when he looks at it this way, their jobs aren't all that different... she's just in the business of stealing information. ]
