t's a regular morning here in the Town. The sun isn't shining at all, snow is falling like crazy, and...there may be the sounds of shouts coming from the well, thoroughly muffled. Okay, so it's not a regular morning at all, but you'd better go help those people! The newcomers are here again. Of course, once you get to the well, you'll notice that there's actually no real help you can offer -- it's totally frozen over. As for the newcomers, well... hopefully being suddenly dumped into freezing cold water in the middle of November in a dark, damp well is your idea of a good time, because that's your life now! And that's not even taking into account the mirrors in everyone's homes that are about to wake up and start chattering... Welcome to Awash's thirteenth event log, everyone! I just moved out of my childhood home. But it's only because the school has dorms now.

... I don't really miss it.

[expulsions]

No? [Huh. That's interesting but he isn't about to ask what Shouto's homelife was like.] Dorms aren't bad. I've gone to a few different boarding schools before. I know a couple of people who don't really miss their childhood homes either.

[Annabeth, for instance.] Pretty sure my mom would miss me too much though if I stayed away for too long. [More like Percy would miss Sally too much, but details.] It's a lot different than this place though.

[glaciers]

There's a lot of history there. [Moving along.] The dorms are nice. My classmates all live there too.

... I do miss visiting my mom. I'd usually go every weekend.

[expulsions]

So like Izuku and stuff. [He's pieced together enough. He doesn't dredge up the history yet but he definitely gets it.] That's the one thing that bothers me most about being here. I have people I need to see and people that need me, especially my mom. I think all of us are kind of in the same situation here.

[glaciers]

And stuff. [Frankly that's a hilarious way to say "and my other classmates" but he'll go right along with it.]

I think time stops while we're here. People talked about it a little on the forums.

[expulsions]

I get that. I've heard that, too, but I'm not sure that's really true or if it means what we think it means. Nico told me nobody noticed I've been missing for months, but...[It's possible, somehow, that maybe everyone's under a hallucination? That theory sounds dumb out loud so he says nothing.]

What's the other thing you think might be happening?

All Might's from a lot earlier than most of the people from home. I don't remember him ever going missing.

[expulsions]

[Hm..] Back home there's this thing called The Mist. It's what the gods put in place to disguise what's really happening from the mortals so they can't see everything going on. I'm not sure who's running this place, but how do we know they don't have the power to trick people like that, too?

[glaciers]

I've never heard of anything like that. ... There's a girl that makes illusions, but I don't think she can do something that large scale.

Does it work retroactively?

[expulsions]

You mean like after we've already been here and been taken from our worlds? I don't know. The Mist is usually just at thing that's always on. I've never thought of it as something that can be turned on and off.

[glaciers]

Maybe? I have no idea how magic works.

[He knows quirks, and that's an entirely different thing.]

[expulsions]

Then what exactly are quirks? [Are they? Are they really that different?]

[glaciers]

They're genetics. [I hate this. They're not that different, really. But Shouto still thinks they are.] Kids can get either one of their parent's quirks or some combination of both.

[expulsions]

[They're trying their best, maybe.] You know that's how my powers work too, right? All of my abilities are from my dad, but some other demigods only get some of their parents traits while their siblings get others.

[glaciers]

I didn't.

[Huh. Are demigods just people with weird quirks? Maybe.]

My siblings mostly got mom's powers. I think. We didn't really talk a lot when I was growing up.

[expulsions]

What's your mom's quirk again? ["Again" as if he ever knew.] I didn't meet most of my siblings until I was thirteen and after that. And...by nature of my dad being my dad, my siblings and I are really different.

[For instance, one's a cyclops and one's a flying horse.]

[glaciers]

My mom has ice. My old man's quirk is Hellfire.

I was being trained into that guy's "masterpiece" while my siblings were just getting to be normal kids.

[expulsions]

Half-hot, half-cold. [...ouch.]

Why you? Are you the oldest?

[glaciers]

That's my quirk.

No, I'm the youngest. I was just the only one with the "right" power.

[expulsions]

So what, everybody else wasn't good enough for your dad? [What in the actual fuck, who breeds a child like that???]

[glaciers]

Yeah. He's an asshole like that.

[Todoroki Enji, that's who.]

[expulsions]

[He's not thrilled to hear that, but it's not like he can do anything.]

...what'd your mom have to say about it?

[glaciers]

I didn't really get a lot of time to talk to her growing up. She was around until I was five, then the old man took her away.

Maybe... she was relieved that none of her other kids looked like him. [Shouto seems to thoughtlessly cover his left side with his left hand. A constant reminder of how he looks just like his father from one side.]

[expulsions]

[Aw buddy no....yikes. He didn't mean to keep digging but...man.]

I don't know. You were still hers even if you did look like him. That's gotta outweigh the bad in that. [If his mom disappeared when he was five who tf raised Shouto? His dad? What is wrong with heroes.]

[glaciers]

[Yeah, basically. Enji did a horrible job with his children.]

Maybe. She did say she was worried about taking care of me. Sometimes when she looked at me she could only see my father. She didn't mean to have me hear it, but I was up late.

Living with him... was bad for her. It caused a mental break and that's why she was sent to the hospital. We've only recently started talking again.
