[It's Several Days Later, and Reim is still in the Ari Might household, and the reason for it is anybody's guess. His own house is empty and living alone for just a few weeks is enough to make him stir crazy, maybe, or the combined efforts of Ari and Toshinori being too... Well, at least one of them has demonstrated he needs someone to stare him down until he does basic self-care. And Ari probably needs someone to smack his hand and tell him "no," if something like more shadow demons or whatever come for him—
Anyway, Reim is just still very much around, and while he is not overbearing, he definitely takes it upon himself to make his presence known by doing a ton of chores nobody asked him to do, starting very early in the morning. Possibly unreasonably early. Who can say.
Currently, he is dusting every available surface in the living room. Everything. All things. It is very early. Good morning?]
[ To be fair, Reim isn't wrong. Ari absolutely needs someone to smack his hand and tell him "no" before he gets enslaved by some dubious evil entity again.
It takes a few days for it to occur to Ari that Reim's visit... never ended? Technically? Ari doesn't mind, per se, since he likes Reim, but it seems like the sort of thing he should at least bring up at some point.
When he comes down in the morning, fiddling with his headband to cover up his relative bedhead, and finds Reim already there, it reminds him that now would probably be a good time to do so. ]
[Yes, this is definitely a thing that should be addressed, probably, for propriety's sake. Toshinori seems resigned to it now, which is not the best look for any of them, but Reim isn't trying to corner anyone into a conversation they don't yet want to have.
Also, he keeps things neat and tidy, so at least he's pleasant to have around. Credit where credit is due? He looks up from his dusting when Ari comes in, fixing him with a polite smile.]
Ah— good morning! Don't let me get in your way! [CARRY ON...]
[ Reim is perfectly capable of finishing this task himself, as he's proven multiple times over the past few days, but Ari offers anyway because he's just that kind of person. A nice boy.
It's not really his style to jump right in with "So when are you leaving, anyway?" ]
[ But it would be rude just to walk away without at least offering... ]
> "You've helped a lot."
[ Ari is genuinely grateful that Reim stopped by to help out when Toshinori mysteriously fell ill. Ari doesn't have much experience taking care of other people, especially sick people, so with Reim here Ari felt like it would all definitely turn out okay. ]
> "Have you been sleeping on the couch? That can't be good for your back."
[Nnnoooo, he's fine. Somehow, Ari's completely innocent way of bringing up just how long Reim has just been here is worse than if he asked him not so politely to please get out. He's dusted the same empty bookshelf like three times now.
[Ari, he gets up before dawn... Anyway that sounds a bit like trying to kick him out, so he hastily looks at this shelf to dust it for the fourth time now. Hmm. Hmm!!]
Like a servant...? [truly, it is in his blood. rip reim.] Would that work better for you two?
[Reim has indeed poked his head in and casually tidied up that room, but he glances up where Ari's pointing anyway, as if he totally didn't know it was there. He is handling this deftly.
And yes, he's 100% been sleeping on their couch for at least a few days, but--]
> "I wouldn't mind. I don't think Toshinori would mind either?"
[ Sorry, Toshinori, Ari is technically giving permission for both of you. But Ari has zero idea that Toshinori has been awkwardly trying to protect his secrets from Reim's skeptical gaze. ]
[Considering Toshinori is probably actually falling apart, his chronic avoidance of Reim's scrutiny is a personal problem. Which is to say, thanks to Ari, he's in. Hurrah.]
I'm just doing what I can to help, so- thank you. I won't get in anyone's way!
[Toast is every day's breakfast from now on. Finally, Reim stops dusting the same thing over and over and shuffles off to the kitchen, for Toast Time. Watch as he looks at a piece of gray bread and wonders if this will even work... maybe so.
Also he's going to make this toast in a frying pan because he's a ye olde, bear with it.]
[Only burnt toast has color, so it's going to taste like ash either way, oh well!! It's the thought that counts. Slap enough honey on these bad boys and no one will notice.]
Oh- that's kind of you. I don't have that many things... although I suppose if you'd like to carry my new decorative scythe, I'd appreciate that.
[You know, from skeleton punching? He's calling it decorative because the thought of owning an actual weapon-scythe gives him hives.]
this will now happen daily / ari

Oh, er, no- well, this is the least I could do... You know.
[Because he's still here. That thing.]

Ahem.]
No, no, it's alright. It isn't so bad.

[ Not kicking him out, exactly, but is it better or worse that Ari is trying to find a way to make the prolonged stay easier for Reim?
It would be a shame if Reim ended up catching a cold himself, after all! ]

> "I feel bad. I want to return the favor somehow."
[ But he doesn't have very good ideas, sorry Reim. ]

I get antsy without something productive to do... Making the house more comfortable is something I do out of habit.
[But anyway, if he is allowed to make a Request,] A pillow.
