WHO: Valvatorez and YOU
WHERE: Bluo, the well, the edge of the forest
WHEN: Early October
WHAT: Val doing Val things.
WARNINGS: Skeleton violence?
I. Bluo | Bat Fishing
[If anybody happens to be at the pier today, there's Valvatorez in what seems to be two additional capes. One orange, and one green with his own personal black cape underneath it. His attempt to fish like humans do landed him much bigger fish than he personally wanted.
So today he's shifting his form to many bats, and soaring over the water, grabbing whatever fish happen to be near the surface and depositing them into the ice house. He'll continue doing this for the rest of the day, unless somebody wants to talk to him.]
II. Well | Quest 31
[He's still dressed in three capes, the newest two still clash horribly.
He's definitely looking at something as he hovers around the well. Sure, he arrived with a crate of them, but that doesn't mean he wants to give them up. The sardines here are bizarre colors, and the ones he gets out of the ocean are strangely mutated.
At the same time though... the people in this town are technically his allies. He doubts they would be so willing to give things up to the well because of a quest.
If somebody is close by, he'll ask them.]
What do you think? Would it be worth it to sacrifice something precious?
[Val that's a can of sardines.]
III. Edge of the forest | Quest 29
[You know what the skeletons are really boring. He's out here smacking some of them with his sword and trying to get them to attack him better?] You're not putting any weight into your swings! Are you really trying to attack? Even a prinny would put up a better fight than you! Their aptitudes are awful!
[He just picks one up. It barely struggles in his grip- he throws it at another and they both seem to crumble.]
I was hoping you'd explode.

iv - pumpkins
So he's got a pair of pumpkins, and he's got more than enough knives to go around, which means all that he needs is a yellow, and that's why he's on the hunt.]
Ah, pardon me.
[Here goes nothing.]
Might I have a few minutes of your time, for a bit of assistance?
no subject
What do you need?
no subject
[He just sort of assumes everyone does, at this point.]
There's one to be had from carving pumpkins, but success can only be had if it's a partner activity.
no subject
If you're not a yellow I can offer my services. Do you need somebody to hold the pumpkin in place?
no subject
[And producing them is as easy as reaching into the Armiger and drawing them out, accompanied by a shatter of blue-white crystalline light.]
no subject
[He's got a sword on him, but it's not really the right shape for carving gourds.]
Lead me to your pumpkins and we'll carve them.
no subject
[He draws them out, one after another, but they're big enough that he has to set them down on the ground by his feet as he retrieves them one by one; hefty things that they are, he wouldn't be able to juggle one in each arm.]
Have your pick.
no subject
Do you know what you want to carve into yours?
no subject
[He takes his own pumpkin, turning it around as if to examine it.]
A skull, perhaps, if I can work it out in advance. What about you?
no subject
[He'll stare at his pumpkin before nodding and setting his mind on-]
This one will be a sardine.
no subject
[Well, all right then. He's going to set to and try for a rudimentary face as well.]
Why a sardine?
no subject
[A very deep and personal reason-- no, not that.]
I like sardines. They're my favorite food.
Also Percy brought up carving them into these pumpkins.
no subject
[He's...assuming not, but by the same token, one never knows.]
I know there's a selection of...what might questionably be thought of as fish, out there.
[Meanwhile, in goes his knife, gouging into the flesh of the pumpkin.]
no subject
[He saw a double headed fish and felt briefly unsure about biting into it.
He saws off the top of the pumpkin before removing his gloves and pocketing them.]
no subject
[Surreptitiously, he's kind of watching Val to see what he does and taking his cues from that.]
no subject
[That's what the two teenagers he did it with were doing, it only makes sense to follow their lead.]
I think it's part of an Earth holiday.
no subject
[Still, he thinks it over a minute before severing the top of the pumpkin, and tips it to examine the innards before starting to use his knife to clean them out.]
Still, one adapts.
no subject
[He'll start scraping the guts away from the pumpkin before just tipping it over and continuing the cycle until it's properly empty..]
no subject
[He frowns a little, once he's gotten his pumpkin hollow (and now with a mess of goop and seeds on the ground, but oh well, at least they're outside where it can't harm anything), and marks out a rough sketch of a face on the front of it before starting to saw through with the blade of his knife.]
There's certainly an abundance of them lately, aren't there? Pumpkins.
no subject
[Val starts etching in a sardine. It's not to scale, but it is a sardine.]
I wonder if the number of them is due to the quest.
no subject
[Painstakingly, he starts carving out a mouth in little sawing motions.]
Lucky for us, these happen to be a foodstuff as well. We may well need this bounty, with the arrival of winter.
no subject
The cold does make it difficult for things to grow. [He... assumes...] Have you worked with pumpkin as an ingredient much?
