I. Bluo | Bat Fishing

[If anybody happens to be at the pier today, there's Valvatorez in what seems to be two additional capes. One orange, and one green with his own personal black cape underneath it. His attempt to fish like humans do landed him much bigger fish than he personally wanted.

So today he's shifting his form to many bats, and soaring over the water, grabbing whatever fish happen to be near the surface and depositing them into the ice house. He'll continue doing this for the rest of the day, unless somebody wants to talk to him.]

II. Well | Quest 31

[He's still dressed in three capes, the newest two still clash horribly.

He's definitely looking at something as he hovers around the well. Sure, he arrived with a crate of them, but that doesn't mean he wants to give them up. The sardines here are bizarre colors, and the ones he gets out of the ocean are strangely mutated.

At the same time though... the people in this town are technically his allies. He doubts they would be so willing to give things up to the well because of a quest.

If somebody is close by, he'll ask them.]

What do you think? Would it be worth it to sacrifice something precious?

[Val that's a can of sardines.]

III. Edge of the forest | Quest 29

[You know what the skeletons are really boring. He's out here smacking some of them with his sword and trying to get them to attack him better?] You're not putting any weight into your swings! Are you really trying to attack? Even a prinny would put up a better fight than you! Their aptitudes are awful!

[He just picks one up. It barely struggles in his grip- he throws it at another and they both seem to crumble.]

I was hoping you'd explode.

For as long as I want unless there's other circumstances at play. I used them to train my own sword skills.

[ He doesn't need them either but Nico is wondering what to do with them. They're just sort of laying here. Idly he wonders if they'll reform if left alone. ]

If you still need someone to train with, I'm certain I'm better than these skeletons. [ A roundabout way of saying he'd like to spend more time around Nico. ]

Sure, I'm sure I could learn a lot for a guy who's been around for four hundred years.

[ A light tease while also being completely serious. He'd ask Percy to train with him but they might cause more harm than anything. ]

I'm 2542, I'm sure there's plenty you could learn.

[ Even if 4 doesn't have the master-student mechanic anymore, he's a good teacher to prinnies. He can teach a human some sword tricks]

Ah, my mistake.

[ He never did ask how old Val actually was, only knew that it's been four hundred years since he drank blood. ]

That just means you have a lot more to teach than I thought.

If I were 400, I'd look... 4 in human years.

I know plenty about spears and swords. Maybe you'll pick up some [ Disgaea specific ] techniques.

Because you stopped drinking human blood? [ Look, he noticed the difference in appearance with that memory exchange. ]

I don't really know much about fighting with a spear, only how to fight against an opponent who has one. Figured it was best to start with mastering one weapon rather than trying to learn too many.

I suppose I did look closer to the human 30 back then. My looks now may be related to swearing off human blood, but it hardly matters. [ He's still himself and that matters much more. ]

That's a good plan. We'll start with the sword and move to the spear once you're ready.

It's not the most unusual transformation I've heard of. [ Greek mythology is littered with gods and goddesses turning into completely different people or even animals.

A nod of his head. ] We can start whenever you want. I don't have much of a schedule here.

You and Percy are from the same place. I heard about men being turned into dolphins.

I don't either. [ He's so unhappy about it. ] Come to the docks whenever you're ready. I'm usually there fishing. Or you could find me in the green house in Bluo.

Yeah, we are. [ Whoops, did he not... mention that? ] Not just animals. Some get turned into flowers or even trees.

We could try having something of a schedule in between the crazy things that happen. Or at least a regular time to meet up for training. [ He doesn't mind adding training with Val on his very small list. ]

I think somebody turned into a flower once. I don't know if it lasted.

Works for me. Do you know this place's pattern of events?

The gods are weird, sometimes they think it's a reward or that they're saving the humans when they do that.

[ Don't ask. Or do, Nico can explain if necessary. ]

Not fully but it seems that most of the big events every four or five Earth-based weeks.

That's a punishment.

[ Because obviously. ]

How often do you want to train? Once a week is a decent amount.

Having been a plant once or twice, I completely agree but what are you going to do?

[ Twice, he was a plant twice. ]

I was thinking more three times a week. Even here I still try to train a little each day. Wouldn't want to get rusty.

I'll fight them.

They'd have to end up here for that to work.

[ Nico spent a lot of time and effort saving the gods... but that doesn't mean he likes them. ]

Okay. [ He grabs one of the femurs from the pile at his feet. ] I wonder what would happen if I reanimated this guy...

I've fought "God" once. I'll fight gods if they show up.

Just that one bone? I'd imagine it wouldn't do much.
