ONE.

[Though Izuku's been in Chroma for months already, he's never really gotten out of the habit of rising early to start the day. Usually, that means training of some kind out by the forest.

This time, Izuku's hung up a few wooden targets in the trees, while he stands some distance away from them, sparking with his quirk's energy. Every few minutes or so, he'll raise his hand and, bracing himself by gripping his right wrist with his left hand, flick a finger to launch a light wind pressure attack at the targets in succession. Though a couple of them hit, he ends up missing most of them, making him huff in frustration, shaking out his hand with a wince.

It's around then that Izuku turns and notices he has company.] Oh, hey! [The pained look quickly disappears, a sunny smile taking its place, like nothing was wrong.] I'm not in your way or anything, am I?

TWO.

[As much as Izuku likes to train, it's not exactly feasible to be doing that 24/7. (And he knows he'll get scolded if he tried.) So on some afternoons, Izuku can be found in the gardens, still slowly practicing his sewing.

Or rather, he should be practicing his sewing, but instead he's become distracted. Rather than working on his pet project, Izuku's grinning as a fluffy brown cat attempts to pounce on the string he's dragging through the grass or dangling in the air. The pile of fabric and other materials has been left off to the side, abandoned.

The cat, with its sharp hearing, of course, hears someone approaching before Izuku does. It perks its ears, turns and looks right at the approaching stranger. Izuku follows its gaze until he spots whoever's standing there. With a soft laugh, he holds out the string.] Want to join us?

Dude, "Dave" really is fine. [ hey, izuku. dave comes to a stop beside the shorter boy, looking up at the mural. ] We could? As long as you're not too busy with dates you totally didn't give me deets on.

[ he's teasing. ]

[inheritance]

[Immediately Izuku goes bashful, rubbing at the back of his neck.] I don't call a lot of people by their first names... I guess I'm just used to it. [And then, there's a flash of determination as he looks Dave in the eyes.] But if you're sure, D-Dave-kun.

[Why does it seem like that took so much effort to say...

Actually never mind, Izuku goes straight from bashful to red-faced and embarrassed as soon as Dave teases him about dates.] I-it's not like I was hiding anything on purpose! [Izuku flails a little before covering his face with his arms. Ahhhh.] H-how did you know?

[parodeity]

Uh, Shouto told me? [ it came up in conversation and dave was taken aback mostly because he hadn't...guessed...or known at all. ] He's a surprisingly chatty dude onc you get past how he looks not chatty at all?? His stoic visage is a lie.

[inheritance]

[Izuku bursts out laughing, embarrassment forgotten for the moment.]

It's true. Shouto's really quiet when you meet him, but he can talk a lot once you get him going.

[He smiles helplessly.] It figures you heard about us from him.

[parodeity]

He's honestly told me about a lot of shit. [ iNCLUDING HIS BACKSTORY...SHOUTO PLEASE... ] But, hey. Y'all are happy, right?

[inheritance]

[Izuku can only imagine... considering what Shouto told him during their first real conversation.]

Yeah... we're happy. [There's a slight blush on his face now, but he is still smiling. Then, in an effort to turn the conversation away from him, he asks a bit playfully-] What about you, Dave-kun? Anyone you've got an eye on?

[parodeity]

I mean, I maybe asked someone out. [ BECAUSE YEAH... ]

[inheritance]

You did? [ Immediately, Izuku perks up, though he hadn't actually expected Dave to say yes.] Who is it? When did this happen?

[You had to have known this would happen, Dave.]

[parodeity]

Just...this month.

[ he mumbles out the answer to "who" tho ]

[inheritance]

[Leaaaaaaning in, smile turning just a little mischievous.]

Sorry? Didn't really catch what you said at the end.

Egbert-kun? [Lucky for Dave, no one's really around right now. At least he managed to keep it kind of like a whisper?]

That's great, Dave-kun! I'm happy for the two of you.

[parodeity]

I mean, we haven't gone on a date yet. [ it is a work in progress ]

[inheritance]

Why not? [He tilts his head.] If you've already asked him out, then the hard part's already over, right?

[parodeity]

Well. I have to make sure it's like...good enough he doesn't feel like he made a mistake?

[inheritance]

Dave-kun... [He understands, really he does!] I think Egbert-kun would be happy just to spend time with you, especially if it's a date.

Do you think you'd feel more confident if you, um...brainstormed more ideas or had like... a practice date...? [Izuku trails off, sheepish and embarrassed. He and Shouto had just jumped into things--but that was a weird suggestion to make, wasn't it? Who goes on practice dates??]

[parodeity]

...Are you asking me out on a practice date?

[inheritance]

[SPUTTERS.] I...I wasn't exactly!

[His face turns pink as he covers them.] Th-though if you think it'll help, I wouldn't mind. I still owe you a friend date from before, don't I?

[parodeity]

Um...maybe? I mean, yes, you totally do, I can't believe you were tryin' to cheat me on one?

[inheritance]

[Izuku, being the easy target for teasing that he is, wrings his hands for a bit before he realizes Dave's just poking at him again.]

It's not cheating if we weren't actually dating, Strider-kun. [Said so quietly and primly, too.]

[parodeity]

I mean you were tryin' to cheat me out of havin' a friend date.

[ which like. izuku may have gotten? but ]

[inheritance]

I wasn't, I promise! [Clenching his fists in front of him now.] Besides, we're gonna make up for it now!

[So, the friend date is totally happening.]

[parodeity]

Okay, so. What's step one of a friend date?

[ izuku's looking Determined, so ]

[inheritance]

Depends on the friend, doesn't it? [Izuku grins at him.]

Let's see...what's something we both like doing? [a pause.] You like exploring and planting stuff in the garden, right? Maybe we could check in the forest for something new to plant!

[parodeity]

I'd actually really like to do that. Especially if we find something delicious?
