t's pretty dark and miserable down in the well. The cavernous area feels much larger than a well should be, bodies milling about in the darkness and knee deep, frigid water. So you're here -- and you're not alone, and the only way out appears to be the thin circle of sunlight from above, the opening of the well. (And elsewhere, in the Town, everyone's waking up to gifts of various usefulness, but hopefully they remember to check the well today even so!) What now? Welcome to Awash's tenth event log, and the intro log for this month, everyone! All new characters have found themselves waking in the well in the middle of the Town. Okay, Sierra.

[ -- Get me a glass of water. Memes aside, he's fast to correct himself while answering her question at the same time. ]

Well, hm... I'd say well over eight hundred years old, but I can't really give you an exact age if only for the fact that I forgot, Lady Sierra. Why do you ask?

[regrede]

Hoho. And you don’t look a day over seven hundred.

[ they’re actually pretty close to the same age, which is the only thing that keeps her from tacking on a “boy” to that comment.

it does mean that vampires must have more of a presence in his world than in hers, however—she doesn’t think he’s the one. surely she would be able to sense that on him.

she doesn’t like not knowing. ]

I asked because I wanted to know. That’s all.

[eusford]

That's because I sleep so much.

[ And he responds with a smile that's gentle, friendly, exactly the opposite of what one would expect from a monster; he's comfortable, as he always is, but there's no doubting the curiosity and suspicion that glistens in his eyes when he catches her gaze. ]

Then you won't mind if I asked the same question, right? Or maybe it'd be more interesting if I asked when you were turned?

[regrede]

[ sierra knows not to drop her guard, but the fact that he isn’t feral makes her a little more at ease. the vampires without the influence of the moon rune went crazy with their lust for blood—this one has some control over himself, for better or worse. ]

Don’t you see this young face? I’m just a girl.

[ she places her palm against her cheek, sweetly. ]

I would say we must have been cursed around the same time. Something over eight hundred years… it’s been a while.

[eusford]

[ He latches onto one part of her reply: ]

Cursed. [ Crowley chuckles lowly to himself, nodding his head briefly. ] That's certainly one way of putting it, so I'm assuming that you didn't just so happen to appear into your world as a vampire? Sorry if I'm being nosy, but it's the first I've met a vampire that wasn't from my home, so I'd be a liar if I said I wasn't curious.

[ And one thing Crowley is not is a liar. ]

[regrede]

You’re the first vampire I didn’t make, so I suppose we’re even, aren’t we?

[ she holds out her hand, allowing crowley to see a rune on the back of her left hand in the shape of a crescent moon. ]

I was born human, you see. These powers were given to me by the moon, and I’m solely responsible for spreading it ever since. The Founder, they call me.

[eusford]

Spreading it? [ He lifts a brow, leaning in only slightly to look at the rune curiously; eyes narrowing when a drop of bitterness drips into his bloodstream and and flows through the remainder of him. ]

So you turn humans into vampires like us? ... Oh boy.

[ Without hesitation he reaches out. Starting at her fingers, slowly gliding his underneath hers, until they finally wrap around her wrist firmly. His expression is still pleasant and warm, not unlike he were talking to someone on friendlier terms, and his tone matches. ]

You won't be able to do any of that sort of stuff here, though.

[regrede]

I wasn’t planning on it. Are you threatening me?

[ her tone is just as even, just as pleasant.

vampires will be vampires, of course, and even if she isn’t afflicted with the same emotionless state of being that he is, she understands that they all tend to cope a little differently from others.

he’s not rean, though. she isn’t afraid of what he might do. she leaves her hand in his. ]

[eusford]

Not really.

[ Threatening a person means effort, and the action of holding her wrist alone is enough. ]

The humans here are naive and ridiculously friendly, though... so I'm just saying that turning any of them would probably do more harm than good.

[regrede]

I only turn people I want to keep around into vampires. So far, no one has impressed me.

[ really, though, she doesn’t want to spread the curse anymore. she’s tired, and she’s sure loneliness will catch up with her in the future, but for now—she pulls her hand back. ]

Don’t worry about me.

[eusford]

[ He brings his hand back to his side, giving a skeptical look before it neutralizes out. There's no reason to put his trust in her, but there's also no proof for him to remain suspicious -- and it's not like whether or not sure turns someone would be his problem. ]

Alright~ But I'll let you know now that there's a guy here who likes to babysit our kind, so you'll need to be careful with what you do unless you want him going after you. [ A pause. ] Or make me do it.

[regrede]

Oh, I don’t think you or he can kill me.

[ a highly pleasant smile, but the fact is that while he may best her in battle, unless he knows how to banish her very body from this world, she’s not going anywhere. ]

I do have a question for you, though. Do you need to drink the blood of humans to survive?
