t's pretty dark and miserable down in the well. The cavernous area feels much larger than a well should be, bodies milling about in the darkness and knee deep, frigid water. So you're here -- and you're not alone, and the only way out appears to be the thin circle of sunlight from above, the opening of the well. (And elsewhere, in the Town, everyone's waking up to gifts of various usefulness, but hopefully they remember to check the well today even so!) What now? Welcome to Awash's tenth event log, and the intro log for this month, everyone! All new characters have found themselves waking in the well in the middle of the Town. Ooh yeah, that guy. Good thing he left.

( even with a seraph, numerous vampires, and the strongest demon blades around he was still too strong to handle. almost took off guren's head, if he remembers right. )

Ashuramaru's not going to be a hassle or anything. We're friends now, we're working to find his sister. ( as demon-y as he is they still work together, and he trusts ashura to help out when he needs it. ) Not that I'm gonna be able to help with that here. Anyway, I'll be fine. Nothing feels weird right now or anything.

[His sister...? That's apparently part of Mahiru's plan so Guren being quiet can either mean he's wondering about that or he knows or it's half and half since he's actually namanari. It's fine.]

It's not that simple. The things this place throws at us can draw out your demon even more, and that's not good if we don't have the supply to keep it from getting worse. I've been working on the replica drug with someone, but...

[They're going to need it now. He'll message Ryo later.]

I'll worry about it later. [He's visibly exhausted, but the less he shows Yuu that, the better.] Have you run into anyone yet?

( guren's worrying as guren does, it's nothing new and yuu's honestly a lot less concerned about all of it than he is. they'll figure stuff out. and if worse comes to worse and he does need to be chained up, they'll handle it. his seraph is more manageable now, even if the whole being a naminari. . isn't, without the drugs to counterbalance it.

I've been around. ( gotten lost and everything. ) It seems like a lotta people know you here.

...Yeah. There are a lot of kids here. Your age, a little older, younger... But we're all trying to work together to find a way home. Most of us are like family, here.

[He knows Yuu gets what that means, and thank god, because he's had to explain it so many times and his tsun is tired of it. He glances down, adjusting his bracelet (Dextera's) a little from beneath the cuff of his jacket.]

Crowley's here, too. Have you seen him?

( "family" is the clearest image guren could paint for him, tbh. if everyone here is family then he has to treat everyone like his own, since guren's family is his, too, which makes them all important. )

I ran into him when I got out of the well, yeah. It's cool to have another friend I know here. And if I do need to be chained up, at least he's strong enough to help?

( but he remembers needing to feed mika all the time, too. crowley and ferid took care of themselves, but. )

He's not hurting anyone here, right? Is he just really hungry?

[Hmm, that's right. He'd been the one to take Yuu's place in donations when Mika was here. And Crowley... well, he could take care of himself, but Guren doesn't like the idea of that in such a small town.

So...]

I've got things taken care of so he doesn't hurt anyone. But he's getting antsy. Maybe you can convince him to calm down.

I'll work on it.

( crowley isn't mika, who listens to an extent and acts like a hissy cat but really just. wants to be present. he likes sparring with crowley, but burning the energy of a vampire that strong will be. hard. especially all by himself, without his squad. nts: bother crowley more. )

I can offer him my blood, since giving up a lot's not going to hurt me any.

[swordfucker]

No. I already have it under control.

[He keeps saying this...hmm. He says it so firmly, too.]

Besides, I need you always at your best strength, in case something stronger attacks us.

[culpa]

Losing a little blood isn't going to make me weaker, stupid Guren.

( "i already have it under control" clearly means "i'm feeding him". guren's strong, too. also a naminari. but yuu's a little. different, heals a little faster. )

I'll just regrow it anyway. Right?

[swordfucker]

It isn't about that. I have him under control, and if he thinks he can go against that for just anything, then you're inviting him to do that to anyone.

[Guren is so paranoid. It's true his blood restores faster than most people, but not as fast as Yuu's, but...]

[culpa]

Okay.

( an easy lift of his shoulders and yuu drops the topic. for now. guren knows what he's doing, yuu won't question it when it comes to this. not now, at least. )

So don't feed Crowley but don't let him go off and do bad vampire stuff, got it.

[swordfucker]

[Thanks! Guren is quiet after that, thinking, as always, but when he turns to look at Yuu, it's... softer. He's worried about having him here for a number of reasons, but it's a relief all the same.

After a few moments of silence, he moves closer just enough to ruffle his hair.]

There are a lot of good people here. You'll make good friends.

[culpa]

( wow rude, ruining his hair. a hand raises to try and shove guren's off of his hair, but there's not much intent behind it. guren can mess up his hair all he wants, it's not going to get any messier. and he kind of likes it--having someone who does reach out to him like this.

even if guren's gross. )

You said they're family, right? I'll protect them.

[swordfucker]

Haha.

[Guren laughs, only ruffling more aggressively in those few seconds before he finally pulls his hand back.]

We'll see about that, brat. [He'll protect them, he knows. They'll protect him too, in their own ways.] But you're right. They're family.

[culpa]

( guren's hand lifts and yuu takes a moment to fuss with his hair, flattening down strands and fixing the top back into place. doesn't solve the whole duckbutt problem, but. he can't see that, so who cares? )

And when we get out of here, we'll get out of here together.

[swordfucker]

Yeah. Together.

[He blinks across the room at his bookshelf, again, eyeing the embroidery before he turns around and steps back towards the door.]

There's someone who we're going to bring along, too. His world dealt with a real apocalypse. He doesn't have anyone there like we do, so I told him I'd find a way for him to fit in with us.

[culpa]

( guren is done in his room so yuu is also, easily following after him through the doorframe while keeping approximately two steps back. )

Who's he?

Dextera.

[He glances over his shoulder at him as he leads him down the hallway and then down the stairs.]

Black hair, a long coat, blue eyes... He can't talk, so he uses sign language.

[culpa]

Okay. I'll keep an eye out for him.

( not that he'll have any idea of what dextera is saying but he'll do his best. as yuu generally does. )

Is there a reason we're bringing him home, or? Not that it matters.

[swordfucker]

...Because he's family.

[Guren just got finished saying a lot of people here are family, but the way he says this is a little different. He's not looking at Yuu anymore, just leading them into the kitchen, but for Guren, the less he says, the more it means.]

[culpa]

( there are a lot of things yuu doesn't understand--but this isn't one of them. the pause, the way guren looks away, keeps moving.

this is someone extremely important. not just some random scrub he wants yuu to be careful of so he calls them 'family'. )

I get it. ( he says easy, speeds up his own gait to ram right into guren's side. ) I'll protect him, too.

[swordfucker]

...Thanks.

[There's the world's smallest smile, if Yuu catches it quick enough, when he bumps him like that. He pushes right back, a little harder than Yuu. By now, though, they're in the kitchen, and his steps slow to a stop, anyway. He leans back against the counter, grabbing a few strawberries from a basket on the counter to hold in his hand. He was just hungry, okay. He never stops to have real meals.]

So, is there anything confusing you that no one has gone over yet?

[culpa]

Killer forest, no colors for some reason, something about the water. .

( look he was listening even if he wasn't listening well. small steps, right? guren leans against the counter and yuu follows after, reaching for a few of the strawberries himself to shove a few into his mouth.

I think I got it.

Good.

[Guren holds out his own last strawberry for Yuu to take, but it's one of those things where he'll yank it away slightly before handing it over, if Yuu goes for it.]

You can use the bed. I don't always end up back here, anyway, when I'm working or doing other things.

[culpa]

( yes thank you for the delicious strawberry--or it would be thanks, except guren's fucking rude and pulls it away as soon as yuu almost grabs hold of it. awful. his brows knit tight together, but whatever. there are some on the table, so he takes a handful of those instead. )
