t's pretty dark and miserable down in the well. The cavernous area feels much larger than a well should be, bodies milling about in the darkness and knee deep, frigid water. So you're here -- and you're not alone, and the only way out appears to be the thin circle of sunlight from above, the opening of the well. (And elsewhere, in the Town, everyone's waking up to gifts of various usefulness, but hopefully they remember to check the well today even so!) What now? Welcome to Awash's tenth event log, and the intro log for this month, everyone! All new characters have found themselves waking in the well in the middle of the Town. How big are your groups normally?

I've been here for about six months- that was the first time people showed up in the town.

[goldenwords]

A couple dozen at most, but usually around four or five for really important tasks.

[Or less, really.]

Six months... that's rough. What's your name?

[glaciers]

... I mean we usually go into the woods in pairs or trios. So there's that.

It's not as bad as it could've been. The company's pretty good.

[She slides her hands into her jacket pockets.]

What do you all go into the woods for? Going over the river and through them to find Grandmother's house, or something like that?

[glaciers]

[Oh. So she's going to be like Dave.]

Quests mostly. Sometimes we get useful stuff out of them. Like food or seeds.

[goldenwords]

...hang on a minute, we've got to go on quests if we want to eat?

[Well, that sounds unpleasant.

Doable, but unpleasant.]

[glaciers]

No, there's a community garden and a sea with fish.

It's just that a lot of the fish don't have color yet. And we need to do quests and bond with each other to get colors back.

... Sometimes the stuff that gains color isn't very useful.

I had a purple cobweb over my door. [He sounds so tired.]

[goldenwords]

[That's all good information to have, and Sadie commits it to memory - what stands out to her is the last thing he says.

He sure does sound tired.]

A purple... [Okay, now she's laughing.] A purple cobweb? What sort of spider did you manage to tick off?

[glaciers]

[It sure would be nice if the stuff that came back was just food...]

I have no idea. I haven't even seen a spider near my house.

[goldenwords]

Well, obviously one had to be there at some point, if it was all over your door. [...] Is it still there? Can I see it?

[glaciers]

Yeah, sure.

[Come on, he's just turning on his heal toward the strangely green house. Over the upper part of the door is a light purple cobweb.

Shouto just gestures at it like, like "see? I'm not lying."]

[Sadie follows along after him, and once they get to the green house, she strides right up to the cobweb and leans in to get a very, very close look at it.]

There's not anything odd about it aside from the color, is there?

[glaciers]

It's a completely normal cobweb.

[Actually, let him be honest about how much he's studied cobwebs.]

... I don't know that much about cobwebs. It wasn't really a class I took.

[goldenwords]

Oh? What kind of classes did you take?

[tell her all about your hero academia, shouto]

[glaciers]

Japanese, English, History, Math, Home EC, Hero Lessons, Physics, P.E., Science, Computer Tech and Art.

[A lot of that is normal and then in the middle of it, there's Hero Lessons.]

[goldenwords]

[yeah, uhhhh]

"Hero Lessons"?

[glaciers]

I'm in hero studies. That's stuff like battle training, first aid, and rescue operations.

[goldenwords]

[...huh. Sadie stares at him for a moment or two.]

That isn't all that different from what's taught at Brooklyn House... Interesting.

[glaciers]

Brooklyn House?

Is that a hero school in America?

[goldenwords]

Not a hero school, exactly, but it's where a lot of us wind up when we've got skills we need to put to good use.

[She looks at him curiously.]

Soooo... heroes. Flashy costumes, fwooshy capes, secret identities and all that jazz?

[glaciers]

[It sounds close enough to him?]

Some of them are flashy, some of them have capes, and none of us have secret identities.

[goldenwords]

None at all? The villains must love that - they can look you up in the phone book and know exactly where you live.

[glaciers]

And if they show up, they'll get arrested.

[goldenwords]

That so? You've got the police and everything there, along with the superheroes?

[glaciers]

Yeah.

You have firemen and police, right?
