Event Ten.

Pushed his sister in a well. Mother said, while drawing water, "My, it's hard to raise a daughter." | |
Welcome to Awash's tenth event log, and the intro log for this month, everyone! All new characters have found themselves waking in the well in the middle of the Town. Hopefully they can get a hand out! For more information, please go here! |

Sadie huffs and hops off the fencepost, hurrying after him because she doesn't know when to leave well enough alone, honestly.]
Hold on! Don't just walk off!
no subject
It isn't a bad thing to ask people their names. Hm. She seems awfully young. He's been seeing a lot of Awfully Young today.]
Are you here with someone?
no subject
[So that's a no. She huffs again, blowing her hair out of her face as she catches up to him.]
It was dark in there, so I don't really remember, but were you in the well too? Or have you been here longer?
no subject
Is there someone in town you know? [If anything, he doesn't seem bothered by the attitude. It actually is kind of familiar, reassuring. Blondish with sass. Too familiar. Take him back.] I came out of the well.
But there have been people here longer. Almost seven months.
no subject
[Teenagers, indeed. She doesn't even bother to wait and see if he agrees before she continues.]
Huh. You walk around like you own the place, so I thought maybe you were one of the seven-monthers.
no subject
[It amuses him, however, that she thinks he walks somewhat cocky. Maybe he hasn't lost everything from his youth after all.]
I'm not afraid of being in another place, though. Being afraid makes it more difficult to focus on returning home.
no subject
[Sadie looks interested.]
Most of the people I've come across so far have been all... "You're here now, some of us have been here for a while." They weren't acting like we can go back.
[But if a bona fide adult thinks it's possible, maybe it actually is? ...not that Sadie's ever put all that much stock in what is or isn't possible, but it's good to hear other people's perspectives on it.]
no subject
But it doesn't mean we won't ever be able to return home. Are you worried?
[He actually doesn't sound condescending when he asks this, only curious.]
no subject
[that's not going to make a lick of sense to a ninja, but whatever]
But I am worried about what sort of trouble my brother might get into back home if I'm not around to help him. He's very book smart, you see, but he lacks a little something called common sense.
no subject
Sometimes, he really misses Itachi.]
If you're his sister, I'm sure he'll manage. You've given him as much knowledge as you can, haven't you?
no subject
Oh, I've tried, but honestly he's hopeless. He'll do quite well for a while until he starts losing his head over a pretty girl. ...luckily she typically knows what she's doing, so I suppose that so long as she doesn't show up here herself, he'll be jut fine.
no subject
Teenage life.]
From experience, it always seems to take a strong girl to keep boys in line.
no subject
[Honestly, her impression of him just ticked upward. It's so rare for guys to admit something like that, particularly adult guys.]
no subject
[The smile is only surprising for the people who have known Sasuke the longest. Still, it it's faint, and it looks strange on a man with such a typically stoic face.]
She took care of the two biggest morons the Land of Fire ever had.
no subject
[ha, ha, he called himself a moron]
So what's the other moron like?
no subject
Naruto.
He was a loser ever since he was young. He couldn't do anything right and always got into trouble. He did badly in school, was slow learning techniques, was lazy practicing, and he always bit off more than he could chew.
But he never stopped believing in his friends.
no subject
Did he ever grow out of any of that?
no subject
[The question tugs the corners of his lips, but he is just barely away from actually smiling.]
He became Hokage, the leader of our village and the strongest ninja there. It was always his dream. I don't know if I would say he grew out of being a loser, though.
[This sounds entirely too affectionate for it to be true.]
no subject
[They get boring because they have to stick to the rules and all that nonsense. (Naruto isn't boring, but Sadie has no way of knowing that.)]
no subject
He won't ever be cool, just a loser. But that's okay. He's a good Hokage to the people of Konoha.
no subject
[Sadie looks thoughtful.]
We don't have someone like that here, do we?
no subject
He may be the closest to a leader, but it isn't official. He leads the force, not the village. So far, things seem to have run smoothly without one.
I don't know if that'll change in the future.
no subject
[No dictators here.]
...soooo, what's the force supposed to be defending against anyway? Has anyone said?
no subject
[No dictators here, thankfully.]
This place seems to have a high population of-- [He pauses briefly, eye glancing to Sadie... not pointedly so much as thoughtfully.] --those younger in age. [Calling them children seems insulting, is all. But it isn't wrong: a lot of them are kids, teenagers.]
I believe he made it so there's some order to coexisting.
no subject
[say no. escape while you still can.]
