t's pretty dark and miserable down in the well. The cavernous area feels much larger than a well should be, bodies milling about in the darkness and knee deep, frigid water. So you're here -- and you're not alone, and the only way out appears to be the thin circle of sunlight from above, the opening of the well. (And elsewhere, in the Town, everyone's waking up to gifts of various usefulness, but hopefully they remember to check the well today even so!) What now? Welcome to Awash's tenth event log, and the intro log for this month, everyone! All new characters have found themselves waking in the well in the middle of the Town. [The smile is only surprising for the people who have known Sasuke the longest. Still, it it's faint, and it looks strange on a man with such a typically stoic face.]

She took care of the two biggest morons the Land of Fire ever had.

So what's the other moron like?

[He was one of the biggest morons out of the two of them, but what he's about to say will be the complete opposite of it. Sadie should understand how this goes, though. With her brother and all.]

Naruto.

He was a loser ever since he was young. He couldn't do anything right and always got into trouble. He did badly in school, was slow learning techniques, was lazy practicing, and he always bit off more than he could chew.

But he never stopped believing in his friends.

He sounds like a little punk. [But she says that with a good-natured smile; apparently, being a punk isn't the worst thing in the world.]

Did he ever grow out of any of that?

[ninjanature]

He was.

[The question tugs the corners of his lips, but he is just barely away from actually smiling.]

He became Hokage, the leader of our village and the strongest ninja there. It was always his dream. I don't know if I would say he grew out of being a loser, though.

[This sounds entirely too affectionate for it to be true.]

Well, him being a loser can't have been that much of an issue if he was a good leader. A lot of the time leaders aren't very cool, anyway.

[They get boring because they have to stick to the rules and all that nonsense. (Naruto isn't boring, but Sadie has no way of knowing that.)]

[This time, the smile manages to come to his face even if it's small.]

He won't ever be cool, just a loser. But that's okay. He's a good Hokage to the people of Konoha.

All's well that ends well, in that case.

[Sadie looks thoughtful.]

We don't have someone like that here, do we?

[ninjanature]

No. A few people claim there's no leader here. [Sasuke still isn't sure if this is good news or bad news. He's been so accustomed to having a leader of some kind all of his life... it's hard to think of a place without one.] Guren Ichinose created a defense force.

He may be the closest to a leader, but it isn't official. He leads the force, not the village. So far, things seem to have run smoothly without one.

I don't know if that'll change in the future.

Huh. Well, I guess if it works, it works, and it means you don't have to worry about all the nonsense that comes with elections and campaigns and all that.

[No dictators here.]

...soooo, what's the force supposed to be defending against anyway? Has anyone said?

[ninjanature]

No one in town that I've been told. It was made for organization and teamwork, and it was made to protect people here from things in the forest.

[No dictators here, thankfully.]

This place seems to have a high population of-- [He pauses briefly, eye glancing to Sadie... not pointedly so much as thoughtfully.] --those younger in age. [Calling them children seems insulting, is all. But it isn't wrong: a lot of them are kids, teenagers.]

I believe he made it so there's some order to coexisting.

He sounds like an interesting guy. I'll have to go find him and say hi at some point. [run, guren.] Have you met him yet? Do you want to go find him together?

[say no. escape while you still can.]

[ninjanature]

[No. Talk to Guren. Bully Guren with children and teenagers. Guren deserves it.]

I've met him. Young than me, I believe, but an adult. Dark hair, purple eyes. He's in a uniform and carries a sword. [Sasuke basically almost described himself, minus the uniform and only partially minus the purple eyes.] Finding him should be easy for someone as smart as you, right?

[He would offer to go, gladly, but it's too good of a chance to pass up a test.]

[sadie is falling for this test hook, line, and sinker]
