Event Ten.

Pushed his sister in a well. Mother said, while drawing water, "My, it's hard to raise a daughter." | |
Welcome to Awash's tenth event log, and the intro log for this month, everyone! All new characters have found themselves waking in the well in the middle of the Town. Hopefully they can get a hand out! For more information, please go here! |

Really? That's remarkable. [a passive-aggressive manager's dream as well, Sick] And it... sends... letters?
no subject
[ really there are only a couple she knows who will write paragraphs in a message. maybe for the best that most here write a sentence or two. ]
The messages are sent instantaneously, but you'll only get a response if the person you sent it to is at their home. You can't take these machines out of the house, so be mindful about timing.
no subject
We have these "computers" instead of a postman, then? Is that the general concept?
no subject
[ he's getting the hang of this! maybe she's got the hang of this too. ]
Now you should know there is a distinction between public messaging and private messaging. The latter is when you send a message to someone's computer directly. Only they can see and respond to your message.
On a public message... [ hm, ok, this might work- ] think of it as a - a community gathering! People can write up a post, submit it, and others can respond to it. Everyone will be able to see all the messages made.
no subject
Should I take that to mean there isn't a place people gather to discuss the town's needs and problems? Would you say it's working out?
no subject
[ she pushes back a little bit of her hair, considering his second question for a moment before answering. ]
I'm not a fan of the set-up myself. I never used a computer before I came here, and I've adjusted but I do feel there is an element lost when we are not face to face.
no subject
I see. Well. I suppose I've come into a lot of free time to try a more regular meeting setup, if those who've been here for much longer would be interested. Organizing meetings is part of my duties at home, so-- you know.
[It would make him Feel Better.]
no subject
Really? [ she brightens up immediately at his idea. ] That would be fantastic. I, for one, think we should have them more. Sometimes I worry - I think this place has a strong sense of community, but despite being here for a few months I still don't know everyone.
It bothers me!
[ zelda you don't need to know everyone -- except, yes, she does because anxiety doesn't let her otherwise. ]
no subject
[Nerd recognizes nerd, it's all good. He is here with her in this space, wholly understanding the pain of not knowing everyone's business. How is anyone supposed to work like this...?!]
Well, with a little time to settle in, I daresay I'll be able to come up with something. Would you like to help?
no subject
[ she is always up to help, especially if it promotes community betterment! though she's not confident enough to take on that role by herself, supporting someone else is more up her alley. ]
Usually the most frequent meetings held have only to do with the defense squad that watches over the town for threats from outside. However, there are many things we can do to improve the town past just ensuring our safety.
no subject
The defense squad... You're talking about that brash young man who talks about protecting everyone else? [Reim has known Guren for less than a day but he's already decided he's a reckless 16yo and not an adult man. That's how Reim do. He doesn't say it like it's a bad thing, at least, so there's that.]
I'll do my best to think of other activities everyone can participate in.
no subject
[ nothing that reim said is wrong in other words. ]
Perhaps you can pitch your ideas on the forum? I know it may not seem as efficient now, but I think you'll come to see it as a good resource.
Though, ah, don't mind too much if people try to joke around with you.
no subject
I'm used to a certain level of fooling around, so it will be alright. Surely if they're asked earnestly about their opinions, they'll find time in betwen to be serious.
[Because people love talking about themselves, he means. Not because they respect town hall meetings or anything wild like that.]
no subject
[ he's going to be proven wrong, she can feel it already, but she's not going to be a downer here. ]
Just don't trust any messages about a money goose and you'll get by. Even the ones more prone to joking tend to understand when it's appropriate.
no subject
[Boy, whoever came up with a money goose is wildly immature. Who would do such a thing. He doesn't even really know what a money goose is.]
no subject
Oh, and one more thing.
[ she quickly turns to her bag and pulls out a small, worn-out sad looking notepad, scavenged from when she first arrived. she pulls out an equally worn out pencil and jots down her color code, before ripping off the sheet so she can hand it to reim. ]
Our forum identification is a color code, not a name. If you need to message me, you should search for me via this code.
no subject
How do I know which code is mine? Do they hold some deeper meaning than the six characters?
[He means, like, a fucking cipher, but the real reason is also good to know.]
no subject
[ it's a little annoying to not have a name attached, but if you can't change it then you adapt to it. she's just been signing her first message with her name so everyone knows who she is. ]
The only deeper meaning is that it reflects your 'color'. Everyone has a shade of red, blue or yellow - right now your text will be black, but in time it will reflect your code. It'll guide you in the quests to take on in restoring this world from the evil that plagues it.
no subject
"The evil"? [a contemplative pen wiggle] The force that moves the forest and corrupts the animals? Would you consider that a separate entity from that which has brought us here...?
no subject
[ she brushes back some of her hair with a rake of her fingers, and clicks her tongue. ]
The only problem is it seems content to not really give us proper guidance on how to save this world. So typical of higher powers.
no subject
Well, all information is good information, at this point. This has been very helpful!
