t's pretty dark and miserable down in the well. The cavernous area feels much larger than a well should be, bodies milling about in the darkness and knee deep, frigid water. So you're here -- and you're not alone, and the only way out appears to be the thin circle of sunlight from above, the opening of the well. (And elsewhere, in the Town, everyone's waking up to gifts of various usefulness, but hopefully they remember to check the well today even so!) What now? Welcome to Awash's tenth event log, and the intro log for this month, everyone! All new characters have found themselves waking in the well in the middle of the Town. [ making a demand of him will probably just frustrate her in the long run, but if she can at least try to bully some respect into him, she’ll be better off. ]

[She's smiling, but she clearly has some hefty concerns. Jotaro can respect that, even if he's still in the dark about a lot of what's going on here, so it feels like the right thing to do to try to reassure her in kind.]

Well if you need something punched into submission, I've been developing a knack for facing challenges lately. Name's Jotaro.

[She blinks, and it's clear from her expression that she didn't know about the church. Even so, she looks tentative, as though she doesn't want to raise her hopes just yet. She shakes her head.]

I guess it can't hurt to check, but... It's seriously not a big deal if there's nothing there. Okay?

[ Subzero to sunlight in 0.05 seconds. At first, Momo isn't sure if he stepped barefoot on a landmine, but the gentle furrow of Sasuke's brows post-"loser" puts life back into Momo's half-stopped heart.

Momo, misguided optimist that he is, sees all of this and thinks to himself: "what a kind soul". ]

－Okay! I won't forget it. [ A weavearound past a decrepit cabin, crumbling around its edges. Momo is glad that this doesn't seem to be the place that Sasuke is gunning for. ] If he's as mysterious and cool as you are, he won't be hard to find!

Ah- wait, wait.

[ Phos understands some of these words, and only barely in this order. The surprised expression on their face moves into something more pointedly baffled. ]

Can you show me how to use this thi-- laptop? I don't know how to make it talk to other people, even though I've been messing with it for awhile now.

You remind me of my Stand, but in a more specialized capacity.

[ listen, it's impressive!! three hearts, four lungs, two and a half livers. that's like a superpowered bird. a turbobird. for example, jion can probably hunt for fish in the depths of the sea and never have to rise up until he's got an entire net with schools and schools of them. he doesn't tell him this, though.

but giorno thinks he's better. this is just A Fact. ] Yes, that's enough. And so: let's say you just stopped producing organs. Something in this town happened to prevent your body from producing that extra stomach or one extra pair of lungs. It's possible; there have been instances where people have had difficulties using their powers for a day or two. That's where I step in. I can make them from inanimate objects and shove them back into your body, and we can make as many as you need to function again.

[ to add to that statement, he was actually thinking of showing off, but then he remembered people get terrified or weirded out whenever he shows off, so he doesn't .... do it. ]

Our infirmary was also super clean, but..

[ None of these buildings are really all that clean. none of them.

In fact, Phos is kind of perturbed by the state of this place and how dilapidated it seems in general. It's concerning, quite frankly, and they toss Reim another unsure look from the corner of their vision. ]

Will you die if we don't find them? Should we look in each building?

[ninjanature]

[Sasuke seems surprised by Nico's declaration, but pleasantly so. When he left to search, he felt it too, stronger. Going over the roof of the buildings, it swelled inside of him, called him. He hadn't ever felt much like it, honestly, and it was both strange and worrying.

But hearing Nico claim the same... Maybe it's something affecting all of them.

Lifting his head, Sasuke follows Nico's indication toward the houses. The string piercing him through the center isn't tugged in that direction.] It does. [He looks at Nico again.]

If you want to explore, I'll go with you. I feel it, too, but not in that direction.

[trepidate]

[ Phos is perfectly still while they allow the laptop to be closed in their hands, watching with an amount of wariness that rounds out into gratefulness. ]

Thank you.. It was yellow- in that place with the dirt path. [ They nod their head in the general direction they'd come from, not all too far off from the cottage they'd been drawn to, before taking a step that way. ]

( weird, but. yuu doesn't quite catch onto those social queues, since dex is answering, and doesn't look too bothered by the question. so he continues on. )

Why? Did you lose it?

[The stealth compliment gets no correction or attention from Sasuke, but he'll be damned if he won't redirect misinformation about Naruto:] He isn't. [It sounds less as if Sasuke is trying to claim he's mysterious and cool and more he's trying to get Momo to understand Naruto isn't at all.]

He's a good-for-nothing. A moron. You can spot him anywhere because his hair is the same color as bananas, and he has a big mouth.

[In the depth of a few houses, Sasuke finds the one he's searching for, the one which calls for him. It's not much. Surely, not as awful as some of the other, but it also appears... unlived in. If he has a roommate, they just arrived as well.

Briefly, his right hand slides back to motion for Momo to wait behind him out of the way, and then it comes forward to press in the door. The house opens without resistance, leaving gaping darkness inside until he steps in. Hm.

Nothing seems amiss.]

No one's here. You can come in.

I'm not acting cool.

( wow rude. also, guren is. okay cool. but that's not the point anyway, and as soon as yuu is done drying himself off he drops the cape cloak easy enough, rests his hands on hips instead. )

Nah, Guren's here. We'll figure all this stuff out easy. And if we don't then someone'll come for us. Or something.

He's not my dad. I didn't mean it like that. He's more like. . an annoying older brother.

( wow leave him and his weird dad alone. )

[ Why can't you just say normal, helpful things, Okuni. ]

Is that what this is called? [ Holding up the supposed ~laptop~, looking frustrated. ] And why would they kidnap us just to make us do quests..? That isn't silly.. it's kind of stupid, actually?

[ why is this happening. ]

[ There's a few things that Giorno seems to have misunderstood about him -- that his production of organs isn't so much a 'power' as it is an inborn trait, and that he doesn't actually use that extra liver -- but he can leave that for later.

For now ... Jion's expression scrunches in thought as he tries to wrap his mind around this. ] Alright. So you can ... turn inanimate objects into organs. And you can get them to incorporate into a patient's body without any effort? You just drop it in there and it starts working? [ Geez, talk about convenient. Jion sounds equal parts confused and impressed as he says it.

There's still a lot here he doesn't get, but at least he has a rough idea of what Giorno seems capable of. Which is admittedly pretty cool.

Though he does want to clarify one more thing: ] ... what do you mean, your Stand?

[culpa]

( oh. he. he doesn't like how that sounds. )

Can. . can you wash it instead? So I don't mess up.

It's the most useful one of my abilities. Although you meet many kinds of people in this town, and some of them aren't quite human - I've yet to attempt any sort of 'healing' with anybody whose physiology I'm not familiar with, simply because it's just too complicated and I don't want to accidentally ruin anything. [ a pause. ] For example, I know somebody here who is a living gemstone. Putting them back together is a matter of ... finding their own pieces and rebuilding their body parts from their own material and they lose parts of their memory in the process. It's not something I'd get involved in.

But with most things I'm fully capable of stepping in to help. In more extreme scenarios, I can even grow limbs for someone in case of amputations. It just takes time.

[ and for the more difficult part of that - ] The Stand is my power. Some people have them as well. Normally other people who don't have Stands shouldn't be able to see them, but this town likes to surprise me.

[ there's an outline of gold around him. that's as far as he's willing to show for now. ]

( oh. oops. he probably should have kept his mouth shut but he can't stop now, can he. it's too late, sasuke's asking questions and yuu's opening up and not stopping. )

Uh, hahaha ( wow what an awkward laugh, wasn't that? ) yyyeah? I mean I have medicine! And it keeps it from getting out of control not that I have any left here but Guren can make some and it'll be fine.

[trepidate]

[ Lottie's scream triggers a yell out of Phos as well once they realize what they've done— amplified as the stranger appears from out of the well, Phos' arms retracting in messy spirals of gold as they guide her into a near-collision with their chest. ]

W—- wait, don't break me!

[ They are, understandably, just as scarred— but manage to bring her to a complete stop in just enough time to avoid any potential shattering, leaving them face to terrified face, yelling in shock.

rescue: success ]

The apocalypse killed them.

( look it was probably something a little more specific than that, but fuck if yuu knows what to call it. something something, guren did something weird, yadda yadda yadda. big words full of big stuff yuu doesn't care about, you know. )

They all just kind of coughed up blood and collapsed all at the same time? And were dead.

( maybe he just fell back into the well, you don't know his life. this dude's. . everything is weird, they're sparkling and definitely not human but. yuu can't really judge. maybe this is just a talking statue. that sounds normal enough. )

That the color is weird, the water is bad, don't go into the forest alone. . there's a defense force, magic is everywhere. . .

It is, right? [ they give a forced haha, I have totally never heard that one before kind of laugh, but their smile barely falters. ]

( he takes the name, acts like he's processing it but yuu's probably going to forget it in four seconds anyway. there's so much to see, his attention focuses in on visuals rather than whatever percy's saying. they're close to the water (which is mildly bad, from what he's heard. and how the water is back home. . ick) which guren's house wasn't. soo probably didn't come from this way, but. )

Any idea why some of the houses are weird like that?

[ oh, he’s stupid… she could already have guessed that, but he just goes right out and makes himself look like a fool without an ounce of shame. it would almost be endearing if he weren’t so loud about it. ]
