t's pretty dark and miserable down in the well. The cavernous area feels much larger than a well should be, bodies milling about in the darkness and knee deep, frigid water. So you're here -- and you're not alone, and the only way out appears to be the thin circle of sunlight from above, the opening of the well. (And elsewhere, in the Town, everyone's waking up to gifts of various usefulness, but hopefully they remember to check the well today even so!) What now? Welcome to Awash's tenth event log, and the intro log for this month, everyone! All new characters have found themselves waking in the well in the middle of the Town. [ A nod! Nothing like being helpful on a day that's a little busy with new people. ]

[ Don't mind him as he steps forward to gently close the laptop. Honebami won't take it though-- it's not his, after all. ]

We have to take it back to where you found it, first. What was the color of the house?

[ He brings the tips of his fingers together to make approximate shape of a roof. ]

[ Phos is perfectly still while they allow the laptop to be closed in their hands, watching with an amount of wariness that rounds out into gratefulness. ]

Thank you.. It was yellow- in that place with the dirt path. [ They nod their head in the general direction they'd come from, not all too far off from the cottage they'd been drawn to, before taking a step that way. ]

Okay. That means you're associated with yellow here. I'm blue.

[ The golden alloy arms would be a good hint, even if that actually isn't always a good indicator. But Phos knows whereand Honebami follows, occasionally staring at them before turning towards the path. Hopefully it's not too weird or unexpected considering how... Dull people look in comparison? Less shiny for sure. ]

It's called a "laptop". You can use it to communicate with other people if they're also using theirs.

Does it matter that we're different colors?

[ Phos is used to gems being different colors, but it's not as if it made an actual difference between any of them. They might not otherwise have brought it up, but the overall lack of color everywhere else in town is what makes them suspicious. Any look they get from Honebami is nowhere near as concerning as everything else, at any rate. ]

And everyone else here, we have laptops because we were all kidnapped? That sounds a little too convenient. You aren't worried about being spied on?

Yes, for quests, they request certain colors be involved. I don't understand yet why it's like that though. My guess would be... this.

[ Wide gesture to the colorless parts of their environment, which is a lot. If only these two non-humans understood painting and color theory. He gets the suspicion though, and while Honebami isn't sure if it's right to deny it because he's curious and skeptical as well, he can at least provide thoughts. ]

I would be, actually. But I don't think I do anything harmful or suspicious. [ A pause. ] Was your home like that?

...Phos is peculiar-looking but also poses a good point, so what is their world like? ]

And by doing the quests, we restore color to this place? I think I get it..

[ That is.. a lot, although not something Phos really wants to deal with at the moment. They have their own quest back in their world that needs finishing, brought fresh to the front of their mind as Honebami asks them about their home. ]

My home wasn't like that! Not really. [ The answer comes out somewhat rushed, despite the half truth to it, and they ignore the discomfort of being suddenly very aware of their pearl eye. ]

Where I'm from, the other gems like me— there aren't many of us to start with. We have no reason to spy on each other, since we live and work together. For a long time, I thought our master was close to an enemy we have, but..

[ Here, Phos hesitates, unsure of how far they can take this explanation without it becoming a problem later. Can the Lunarians observe them through the pearl, even here? It's a terrifying thought, and they shake their head with a sad laugh as if to dispel it from their mind. ]

Probably, I think I've just developed a bad habit of being too suspicious.. But you seem sure about it, so if you don't think there's anything to worry about, there must not be.
