Thus, on Life’s gloomy sea, Heareth the marinere Voices sweet, from far and near, Ever singing in his ear, “Here is rest and peace for thee!”

t's a dark night, and the sounds of feet in the darkness are further dampened and hidden by even more magic, as they are lured away by the soft sounds of dreams that are too good to be true, leaving the Town much, much emptier than when it began. On one side, an island, and a ticking clock to a gruesome death. On the other, the slow realization that those bonds everyone has been forging might mean much, much more than they first thought. [ there is an undignified yelp that dave's going to just. pretend. never occurred. but he at least secures his arms around john's neck so he doesn't drop and yeah, okay, this is easier.

[Thanks Dave. He doesn't mind that Dave adjusts himself to be more secure but he just gives him another semi-worried look as he starts to walk.]

Where'd you put the boat anyway?

On the beach. [ helpful. dave relaxes a little and doesn't struggle in john's grip, at least. ] ...Over thataway. Brought some clothes for y'all just in case, too.

[windeity]

[Helpful, indeed. John just glances back behind them toward the beach as he hauls him toward wherever Dirk and Jake are.] Oh awesome, thanks. We will probably need them after being out here for a while. We can change and get off the island pretty fast.

[Onward to find fellow idiots? Onward to find fellow idiots.]

Water'n'food too. [ he mumbles that part and maybe it's stupid that after freaking out on john a little his second reaction is to start to get sleepy even on. an island of enemy merfolk.

it's pavlovian, he figures. but there's a chance dave will half-doze while john searches for dirk and jake. ]

I'll make dinner when we get home. [For all four of them, he means, but he doesn't seem interested in talking still. If Dave's going quiet and he dozes off, that's fine by John. He'll just carry him around until they either find Jake and Dirk, or his arms get tired.

Hopefully it's the first one.]

[ it's probably the first one, let's be real. dave's light and easy to tote around particularly for a guy with john's strength stats, and he's not at all fighting. it might be awkwardish to find dirk and jake like this but also they probably won't mind too much, and if they do dave probably will not care much.
