Thus, on Life’s gloomy sea, Heareth the marinere Voices sweet, from far and near, Ever singing in his ear, “Here is rest and peace for thee!”

t's a dark night, and the sounds of feet in the darkness are further dampened and hidden by even more magic, as they are lured away by the soft sounds of dreams that are too good to be true, leaving the Town much, much emptier than when it began. On one side, an island, and a ticking clock to a gruesome death. On the other, the slow realization that those bonds everyone has been forging might mean much, much more than they first thought. [ even if her arms and legs are lightly bruised and she's visibly tattered, that won't stop her from putting others first before herself. she pushes up on the ground to stand again and then offers her hand down to him. ]

Come now. Use me as your anchor.

[He looked doubtful and hesitant at first, but knew he wasn't going to be getting very far without help.]

Alright...

[He took her hand carefully, getting to his feet with a slight wobble and a wince of the continuing ache throughout his body.]

Thanks. What uh... what're we gonna do now? Pretty sure we can't swim back.

[ and she helps him, planting her feet to the ground to anchor herself as he uses her arm to regain his footing. she feels more relieved than she'll say when he's up and about. ]

Swimming is too dangerous with the sirens surely at bay. For now we have to keep our wits and survive until those across the sea realize where we are.

... sirens?

[Like those noisy horns that warn of some oncoming doom? What do those have to do with them being stuck here?]

That is what I've been told the beasts are called. They're some sort of sea monster from below the depths.

Is... is that what dragged us here?

[Shit, he's actually kind of scared! He has no idea what a siren is capable of, let alone whether they can be dealt with the way he deals with demons.

Eyes slightly wide, he starts patting himself down then looking around where he'd been on the rocks.]

Shit! My sword! It's- it's back in Chroma!

As is my bow. I suppose we must start sleeping with our weapons beside ourselves from this point on.

[ it doesn't help to say that now, but she's always future thinking even in peril. ]

We're not in any condition to fight. At this point we must rely on the others back across the sea to come for us.

Yeah, that'll be comfortable...

[Rin is very much a splayed sleeper.

She has a point, though, and he's already considering it for whenever they make it back.

So... what now? I mean, like... we're just gonna... wait?

We must. There's little else we can do.

[ which zelda doesn't mind. she's used to waiting on heroes. ]

That's bullshit. How are they even gonna get to us?!

Rin. [ pointed and quick, yet her voice ever remains even and collected. ] Do not waste your energy. You will need it if you intend to stay well.

[Rin bristled visibly at being admonished, but it lasted a brief, tiring second before his shoulders dropped.]

I don't like waitin'... not like this...

I know.

[ oh does she know. ]

If you'd like, we can sit together for the day. It's better to stay together.

What about... food? Shelter? We dunno how long it's gonna take for them to realize we're even gone.

[Having only a forum for general communication throughout the town means new doesn't always travel very quickly, and that's not even including the time it would take to organize a rescue mission of this size.

Rin was dumb, but he wasn't oblivious. This wasn't going to be a short waiting game, that was for damn sure.]
