but as to elizabeth's question, zelda falls into a silence as she tries to recall. her eyes close calm and without crease as she recollects. ]
I don't remember being taken. But I do remember a dream. My mother was a far away distance from me in a field of flowers, and I was very small. I couldn't run for some reason, so I had to walk all the way to her. All the while she called out my name. When I finally got there, she pulled me into her arms...
[ she opens her eyes and lets out a tired breath. ]
Then I woke up and I was here.

I'm sorry.
[ That it happened, and maybe for asking. Her sympathies are sincere, regardless. ]
I heard a... friend of mine. [ Or at least "friend" is the easiest word to pick without diving into a long explanation of the complicated relationship she has with Booker. ] He was calling for help, so I thought maybe he didn't end up in the well for some reason.
[ She shrugs, since it probably sounds silly, but that isn't at all surprising for Booker... ]

[ sorry for everyone here. if her dream and elizabeth's match that of others, then the sirens planted some kind of impression in everyone's mind and manipulated them to the shore. it's a far more sickening act than any other to this point in this realm. ]
The dreams were a cruel trick, but monsters don't have reason to be kind. Whatever they're planning, isolating us is part of it. So we can't let them separate us.

Right. Whatever it is, I don't think it's good.
[ She has a guess, but she's not certain about it. Parts of this situation makes her think of old Greek tales of sirens, but the way those legends went, it was singing. She's not certain enough to identify them as such, which, whoops. But regardless, if this island is that dangerous, then there's also something else she's worried about. ]
Do you feel... I don't know how to describe it, really. Weaker, I guess?

But... I do feel like there's something else too. An inexplicable sort of force I can't explain.

I feel the same thing. Not that I know what it is or what it means, though.
[ Which is frustrating. She shakes her head, but it comes with a little shrug. ]
I guess we'll just have to be more careful. If there's something else, um, weakening us, that seems foreboding for why we might be here.
