.... what a coincidence. I'm the same. But really, we're more of a family than anything else. I just happen to be the bossiest one. [ a soft laugh. ]
It's unfair to compare yourself from what you can do there, though. There are plenty of things beyond our control and are completely unfamiliar here. The rules are different.
Will they be proud of what you've done regardless? That's something you can ask yourself. And if you can make peace with your answers to that ... you can do everything else.
no subject
...Most of them would be. But one of them isn't.
[And he's made it known.]
And I guess it's hard to be proud of myself, too.
no subject
Why aren't you proud of yourself?
no subject
But that aside... He shrugs dismissively.]
I haven't done a lot to be proud of. I ended up burdening my friends, more than anything.

You've got terrible friends. [ like his friends murder people and steal and stuff but they've never called each other useless. cmon.
giorno pats him gently on the side. ] Take my confidence and ego. I've got it in spades, I'll bottle it up for you and give you an ounce free of charge.

My friends are the best. [He means that, really, despite his current crisis of confidence.] One of them is just... a little headstrong.
[But seriously, taking a bottle of his confidence? Akira has to smile at that, too.]
But it's alright. Keep your confidence.

I think different personalities help make groups stronger. But don't say you're a burden - it's unfair to those who believe in you. And it's likely all in your head most of the time.
[ giorno smiles at him. ] Whenever you need the boost - I've got plenty to spare. [ a slight frown. ] Come to think of it, that's what that guy hated about me too, but it never hurts to have lots of it. Talent and hard work makes up for the rest.
no subject
Alright. I'll keep that in mind.
[For the sake of his friends, he'll keep his chin up. He'll try to believe in himself too, as much as they believe in him.]
Why did your friend hate that?

I was new, in this circle of friends. I was also the youngest; he was one of the older ones. I suppose, as with anyone new, I had to prove that I was worthy of being there. Does that make sense?
When nobody else but one person knows anything about you, it becomes imperative that you make your mark. I have talent and a strong will on my side, and I can be very stubborn. So was he. We had very different ideas of what it meant to fit in a group; thus, our personalities clashed. But we both cared about the same group of people. We both wanted the same things. That is indisputable, and on that, we were both very dedicated to.

[Though no one in their group ever really felt the need to prove themselves, so to speak, when they were new, he remembers what happened with Morgana as new people joined up. He felt like they didn't need him anymore, like he was replaced.
Sometimes group dynamics can be tough. But all that really matters is...]
But if you were both dedicated to the group, it worked out, right?

[ even if so many others died. he can't save them all. ]
Are you finding your place here as well? [ with others he's just met in town. ]
no subject
[His relationship with Guren has been a bit strained lately, but the rest of his friends that he's met... things are good with them.]
I'm thinking of starting a cafe. [He's already working on it, actually. It's a project, something he really needed.]
no subject
[ giorno looks amazed. ] That sounds delightful. And I think it'd be nice for people to have a place to hang out and meet each other instead of just naming the well, or any other random place in town.
no subject
That's the idea. Another guy already has one for food, but this will just be for coffee, and hanging out.
[His friends hang out with him in Leblanc back home. He wants this to be similar; a warm, friendly place.]
no subject
[ coffee and hanging out sounds good. he misses the cafes back home, they just littered naples like weeds. ]
no subject
[Coincidentally, the same friend he's angsting over as he sits here. Ah well.]

You gotta let me know when it's ready. I'd love to drop by.

I'll make an announcement when it's ready. You can come by any time.
